Forfex's Inheritance

Minos frowned as he looked at Forfex's soul fragment. "What do you mean?" He asked in a surprised tone. "You failed one of the final floors of the second phase of the inheritance. Didn't that kill you?"

"I failed?" the Forfex soul fragment asked with genuine surprise. "Well, that's a shame. I obviously don't know anything about what happened after my main version created me. I didn't expect to hear that I failed..."

The last part of the soul fragment's words sounded genuinely disappointed, as if he really had expected reality to be different.

The women of Minos looked at each other, with Gloria unable to help asking, "What's going on here? Why do you think you're alive? We came here precisely because you died."
