"Its still too blurry..." Sarah murmurs atop the city walls.
With the aid from a telescope, Sarah only manage to make out the vague shadow at the horizon; the girl sighs as she flips through her notebook jolting down whatever she had manage to observe.
"Maybe if I stand bit closer to the edge..."
"Girl, anymore than that and our deals is off." the guard standing beside Sarah reprimand her reckless behaviour.
"Tch." Sarah glares at the guard and pack her belongings.
Sarah had been returning to the same spot to observe demons lurking far away from the city walls for the past years. She bribed the guards to gain access to the city walls, gathering observations for her research; her room is filled to brim with sketches and thesis she had written over the years, and today is no different.
"What's so interesting about those things anyway?" stretching out his palm in front of Sarah.
"Shut up and do your job." pissed, she slam her "entrance fee" into his hand.
The streets before dawn is deserted save for the few drunkards and the warm light coming from Stone's Bakery. Sarah stops in front of her favourite store, the fragrance of slightly burnt hard bread lights up her day.
"Give me the usual." ordered Sarah.
"Did someone try to hit on ya again girl? Heard ya stomping miles away." a burly, bald man come out the store to greet Sarah with her order.
Sarah snorts, how she wished there was one; a handy punching bag.
"Please don't get into more trouble." the old man sighs.
"... Shut up old man." Sarah muttered and snatched her breakfast.
Mr. Stone lets out another sigh. He cannot help but to see his daughter in Sarah fleeting figure, 'if she was still alive...' quickly dismissing that thought he collect the coin on the counter and walks into his store.
"Old man!"
He turn his head to see Sarah stop few steps away from his store.
"Thanks. I'll keep it in mind."
