New Team (Part 3)

I nodded along as if I was an expert at being super strong as well but that wasn't exactly the case...

I cleared my throat and spoke up. "Ah well, as everyone must already know, all Descendants of Light are full magic users. But my current abilities are nowhere near to my father's. Which is why I also use a sword and have mastered the New Military style, the Old Asellan Royal style as well as the Dragon Slayer style of swordsmanship. I imbue Light Magic into my sword to turn it into a magical weapon. It's a simple direct use of light magic in which I can regulate the magic output as needed. I also have light magic flowing all through my body which gives me autonomous self-regeneration even if I fall unconscious."

"Hold up, the Old Asellan Royal style? The one that was lost even to the royalty itself after the Anti-church civil war?" Ren asked.

I nodded. "Yes. It's still passed down generationally but only among the Descendants of Light. I learned it from my father as he did from his."

Ren leaned back into his seat and looked up at the ceiling with his arm crossed behind his head,"Hmm... The sword technique cursed so that's no one can ever learn it. Should have guessed that curses don't work on you guys."

I shrugged. "Frankly it's not really that effective. I still really prefer the New Military style and the Dragon Slayer style more than that one."

Ren sat back up straight and sighed. "Nah, it has its uses."

Charles looked right at him with an amused expression. "The Asellan Royal style has been lost for 300 years. I am surprised you know about it."

Ren slightly laughed it off "Just heard some stuff, here and there."

Charles shrugged and said with a smirk "Good to know atleast someone out there is interested enough to remember it. Well you'll be travelling with Liam now, if you want to you can learn a few things more about it."

Ren showed his hands up. "Oh no no. If I somehow learn a move by mistake, there is no knowing what might happen. There must be a reason why no one is able to learn or remember anything about it."

Charles grinned and raised an eyebrow. "So you do realise that."

"That... was a test?"

Charles laughed and nodded. "Yep that was a test. There is a limit to how much you can learn about the Asellan Royal style before the curse gets triggered. It's hard to find anyone other than Liam and his father who know anything about the Old Asellan Royal style. I was just having some fun, don't mind me."

Ren slightly laughed as well. "Its alright. But for real, it does worry me that..."

He was cut off Macy who cleared her throat loudly to get everyone's attention. "Speaking of travelling, it's almost mid day, about time that these guys leave for Eldaria."

Luca stood up and stretched his arms yawning loudly. "Finally! I can't wait to get moving. You guys can nerd out over swords later on."

Elaina sighed. "Sheesh, you might want to show some respect, these guys are the Hero's party members you know."

"I didn't mean to show any disrespect. Sorry if I came off like that. Besides, I don't think they should always be referred to as the Hero's party members. They are individually extremely powerful and have their own identity as well."

Macy smiled kindly at him. "Thank you for saying that. But the battles we fight and the threats we put down are all done as part of a team. Our unity as a party comes first."

Charles nodded. "And don't worry about it, it's completely fine to call us the Hero's party members. It's not an easy job after all. Besides William's strength as a Hero is something we are proud of and respect as well. Being around him made us who we are. He is our leader and there is no shame in embracing it."

Dias wiped his eyes in an action of fake crying. "Jeez you all are gonna make me cry or something... Haha, anyway, Macy and Luca are right. Y'all need to get going. Luca, Elaina are not from around Eldaria and Liam hasn't been there a lot either. I found Ren from there so I guess he can show them around."

I nodded as I stood up. "Yeah I do need to check around the Armor shops and other stuff. And the Guild house as well."

Ren stood up too. "How about we do the Guild tomorrow morning? We'll choose our first request as well then. For today I can show you around the town and a fantastic place to eat too. Very famous among adventurers."

I grinned and called in for a fistbump. "Sounds like plan."

Ren obliged with a laugh. Luca sighed and Elaina shook her head with a smile, both joining in as well while Sylvie excitedly put her hand over our fists and went Yeah!

There were smiles all around. This finally seemed like a worthy beginning.

Dias put an arm around me and looked at Lance. "I assume everything is ready?"

Lance nodded and bowed. "Yes sir. The horse drawn caravan and Master Liam's belongings have all been prepared. Stay for Master Liam's party has already been arranged at a local inn in Eldaria according to instructions by Master William. All your weapons are waiting for you by the door as well."

Dias pat my back. "Good to go, kid?"

I looked at him straight in the eye with a smirk. "Absolutely."

With that we proceeded towards the door where each of us equipped our weapons.

Elaina wore a sturdy leather quiver full of arrows over her back along with a slightly thin dark red-brown wooden bow. She also had small knife by her side and a satchel attached to her belt.

Luca as expected only had two long curved daggers hanging in their scabbards by his side, while a satchel similar to Elaina behind his waist.

For Sylvie, she just wore a deep blue amulet around her neck, a rapier on one side of her belt and a satchel on the other.

Ren was the one everyone was looking at. Everything was adamantite...
