Half a Solution

I was in my room, stuffing all the clothes that I could pass as being semi-decent, into a bag.

It was decided that I will move in with Jordan first thing in the morning. He'll send a car to pick me up and I'll be escorted to his penthouse on the Upper East Side by a driver.

"I still think this is a bad idea," Maddy was leaning against the frame of my bedroom door with her arms across her chest, watching me as I moved back and forth between the closet and the bed.

"This is the only idea we have," I left out anything that looked like you'd see on a homeless person.

"Sky, we can still find another solution."

"Maddy, I don't think there is enough time. And if I keep thinking about how to clean up this mess, I would never be able to find another job in time. I need to focus all my attention there now."

"Or you could just talk to Jeremy. He's called three times, you know?" she said.
