- High school Dormitory, West wing -
Ka-Chack
After entering their room, Mo He and Chatty noticed it didn't look like a dorm room at all, it looked more like a luxury suite.
The room was 20x30 meters in area and about 5 meters tall, giving them about 3000 cubic meters of space. Thinking about it, this was a requirement considering everything and everyone that was in the room. Each room could accommodate 7 students and the rooms were co-ed so there would be a mix of males and females in a dorm room.
Overall the room provided all the basic necessities, so if one chose to, they could stay in the dorm room for most of their high school lives. However, there were mandatory school events that had to be attended so staying in the dorm forever was impossible. Moreover, the room just provided basic necessities and would only provide the bare minimum. Besides that, the room also had a basic training room where there were various workout equipment, and 3 luxury bathrooms that were equivalent to a spa or a hot spring. The only downside to all of this is that the room's upkeep was based entirely on the students occupying it, which means the basic necessities would not last forever and would need to be restocked, as well as the workout equipment needing to be managed perfectly so as to not to have the quality deteriorate.
Despite the responsibilities, the school is still pretty generous to provide mere high school students with rooms equivalent to a 5 star hotel's luxury suite.
As the duo began to explore the residence, they suddenly heard bickering coming from the direction of the lounge area.
???: "I said, this room is MINE!!"
???#2: "-And I said you can't monopolize the lounge, so get out of my face, little girl!"
Mo He and chatty currently had blue lines on their foreheads as they hadn't expected that before they even settled down in their new living space, they would already encounter this kind of situation.
At this moment, the male in the argument noticed Mo He and Chatty's presence.
Male arguer: "Hey you, I'm right aren't I, the lounge can't be claimed by one person."
The boy suddenly dragged chatty into the mix, and to this, chatty acted like his usual self.
Chatty: "Yeah! He's right, the lounge is the lounge, it's not meant to be occupied by just one person!"
Female arguer: "Hey! Stay out of this, little kid! This is between me and fatso over there!"
MA: "HAHA! I am right aren't I, even this guy agrees with m- wait did you just call me FAT! I'm only 190!"
Chatty found both of their comments laughable, because the male was indeed quite fat, and the female called him a little kid while she was at least 2 heads shorter than him.
As for Mo He's position in this spectacle, he just wanted to go home. He couldn't take 3 headaches at once.
As if on cue, another door opened and in walked a short, frail looking bespectacled kid with brown hair and a shy expression.
"Um... C-Can you keep it D-Down, just a little b-bit."
FA: "Shut up scrawny, we're trying to have an argument here."
Hearing this, the kid flinched slightly and seemed to have given up as he went back through the door he came through.
Suddenly the female turned to Mo He.
FA: "Don't just stand there! who's side are you going to take?"
Mo He, in no mood to join the argument, decided to propose a compromise.
Brainy: "How about we make a deal. I don't know about the lounge, but if you agree to stop making a fuss, I'll give you my portion of basic necessities."
Chatty: "Brainy! How could you just give away your stuff to this toddler."
A vein suddenly appeared on the girl's forehead.
FA: "What did you say kid! I guess I'll have to teach you about respect!"
As she said this, the girl began to activate her ability. Suddenly, sparks of electricity began to fill the area around her right hand. As the sparks grew more powerful, Chatty realized that he had to get into fight mode and entered a fighting stance.
Not long after this, the girl finally finished activating her ability and lunged at chatty. In response to this, chatty immediately dodged to the left and vaulted over a table that was in his path of movement.
This movement caught the girl of guard and she stumbled forward, almost falling over. This only served to further enrage the girl as she attacked with even greater ferocity than before.
As chatty continued dodging while looking for an opening, the fatty from before began cheering him on.
'They're all crazy', Mo He thought to himself.
Before anyone knew it, 2 minutes had passed.
As the battle began to reach its climax, the two participants suddenly froze, as if they were unable to move.
???: "My, my. Is this how you treat your roommates."
Mo He was on full alert. Not only did he fail to notice her presence until she announced it, but his instincts also told him that she was dangerous, yet she didn't give off the feeling of danger.
As Mo He was dealing with an internal conflict of emotions, the girl began to speak again.
Girl: "*sigh* to think my roommates would start fighting on the first day, truly shocking."
A creepy chuckle escaped from her mouth, which was currently smirking profusely.
Mo He felt a large shiver go down his spine when he heard her.
Girl: "Don't you know it's against the rules to fight without permission."
'Finally, someone with some sense.'
Girl: "If you want to fight, you have to use the duel function on your holo-watches", she then smirked again.
'...'
Although it didn't show on his face, Mo He had an internal look of disbelief; However, he also considered dueling to be a good thing. Since they would be roommates for the next four years, it was good to get to know each other.
Besides the sudden appearance of another roommate, Mo He was fairly interested in her ability. To be able to freeze someone, mind you, not something, mid-motion is pretty impressive.
After the girl mentioned the duel function, Chatty and the other girl immediately activated it and continued fighting. Currently neither of them had the advantage. Chatty hasn't actively trained his ability so he did not use it in the fight, thus weakening his fighting power, and the girl was adept at using her power, but not so good at fighting, therefore the battle had reached a stalemate.
Chatty: "You're pretty good. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to end the battle here."
