Alex wouldn't let me know one thing about the trip the whole way there, he kept me blindfolded even on the plane. i was allowed to peek or anything so I jus decided to sleep until I was able to see. I wake up as I feel the plane landing and Alex shake me awake. "Can I take this off now?" I ask as my hands reach up to the blindfold to try to take it off. Alex grabs my hands to stop me as he laughs at my eagerness. "Not yet Shorty, I'll take it off after we get out of the airport."
"You know how silly this will look to people right? Me blindfolded the whole time?" I ask as I raise my eyebrow in what I'm assuming is his direction even though he can't see. "And I don't care." He responds as he takes my hand leads me out into the airport. The whole walk to the baggage claim I have to keep a grip on Alex's arm to keep me steady so I don't fall only making me feel even more ridiculous.
After a bit of moving and maneuvering, Alex pulls me to a stop as I feel him come around me to take off the blindfold. For a minute I let my eyes adjust to the lighting outside before looking around not seeing anything to give away our location. "Where did you take me?" I ask as I give Alex a curious look to which he jus chuckles. "We, my dear wife, are in Florida and we will be staying at a beach house." He says as a car pulls up in front of us. Alex puts our bags in the trunk before opening the door to the taxi and gestures to me to get in. I walk up to him and smile before sliding in as he slides in beside me. "A beach house? When did you get one of those?" I ask assuming he bought on without telling me. "Before you get mad, no I didn't buy it. My parents had on built for us as a wedding present." He explains as I turn to him with wide eyes. "Why am I just now hearing about this?!" I exclaim loudly. "My mother didn't want to say anything to you because it wasn't finished when we got married. She wanted to surprise you when it was done and it finished last week so I figured perfect timing for a little vacation." He explains to me as I smile at the gesture from his mom before laughing. "What are you laughing about?" Alex asks as my laughter continues for a second before letting out a deep breathe to calm myself. "I just find it funny you kept this from me for the two years we've been married." I say as he laughs with me.
Soon after the car comes to a stop as Alex gets out and retrieves our bags from the trunk before turning to me and offering his hand. "Are you ready to see our vacation home Mrs. Henderson?" I smile fondly as I place my hand in his. "Always Mr. Henderson." I giggle while he intertwines our hands together and leads me to the front door.
The house looks small on the outside but after entering through the threshold, it's a lot bigger on the inside. I wander around the house as I admire the interior and Alex follows behind me watching and waiting for my reaction. The living room and the kitchen looks so cute and small but at the same time it gives you the familiarity of home as I notice most of the layout and designs is exactly like our house back home. I notice the staircase around the corner from the kitchen and begin heading upstairs noticing a bathroom and three bedrooms. Curiously I turn to Alex to see him looking just as confused as me. "Why so many bedrooms?" I ask him as he shrugs. "I case my mom really wants grandchildren." He says as he looks into each of the rooms.
Following him, I notice that was her intention as I see that the two small bedrooms are decorated for children and the third is the master bedroom for us. "Well we will give her, her wish when we're ready." I say as I turn to Alex and smile to see him already looking at me with a gentle smile and love in his eyes. "When we're ready." He nods agreeing. I walk up to him and give him a hug as I feel his arms wrap around me tight and he places his chin on top of my head. "I love you Alex." I say quietly as I bury my head into his chest. "I love you too Shorty. Always." He whispers to me before releasing me. "Let's go out to the beach tonight." He suggest as I nod and go change into my bathing suite with a wrap over it.
We head out to the beach and walk along the sand holding hands. It doesn't take us long to get to the shore seeing as I'm sure his mom thought of the house being beach side. Alex takes the blanket he brought with him and pillows and lays them out on the sand for us to lay on. We lay there cuddling on the sand as I gaze at the stars and can tell out of the corner of my eye that Alex is staring at me. I turn my head in his direction, noticing I'm right. "What is it?" I ask quietly not wanting to break the beautiful silence. Alex shakes his slightly as he continues staring. "I'm just so lucky to have you. As my wife, best friend, soul mate, and eventually soon to be mother of my children." He whispers to me as I smile at him before turning my attention back to the stars. "Have I said I love you enough today?" I ask him as I feel him shake his head above me. "There will never be enough 'I love you' said between us. There's only always and forever." He says gently. I turn my head once again in his direction as I smile. "Always and forever." I repeat his words as he gently grasps my face in his hands and leans down and places his lips onto mine.
