"Levenisse!" Jashea, who's hastily moving towards me, caught my attention. I noticed how her eyes shimmered and her cheeks redden in excitement.
My brows furrowed confused of why she’s suddenly acting that way. Something smells fishy... did she perhaps bumped into her crush or something?
"Slow down, will you? What's happening?" I asked curiously while trying to soothe her.
"Here." I handed her my hanky and stared at her intently. She's now soaking in sweat, and mind you, the classes haven’t even started, yet she's already exhausted.
"Huh? What am I supposed to do with this?" She asked out of confusion as if she really doesn't know what to do with a hanky.
That's one of Jashea's prominent nature. Whenever she is excited or thrilled, she's becoming dumber. No offense alright? I'm just stating a fact.
"I should be the one asking. Why are you suddenly running all over the campus while you're soaking in sweat? And look at your hair, it's a mess." I rolled my eyes at her, my arms akimbo.
"Well, guess what? Brent's going to be our classmate starting today!" She announced full of enthusiasm. However, her facial expression abruptly changed when she noticed that I’m clueless about the person she’s talking about.
"Don't tell me, you don’t know Brent Rosales? He's the future CEO of UMAK!" She replied hysterically, like I have committed a crime by not knowing who the guy was.
"But still, he's just the son of the current and infamous CEO of our school. He's not yet appointed as the CEO." I pointed out as a matter of fact.
"He's still the one and only heir so you see? He'll end up inheriting all the assets his parents have. Including this school and all the biggest malls and hospitals of course." She proudly declared.
She immediately cut me off when I tried to argue with her by raising her right hand in front of my face and telling me to stop voicing out whatever opinion I have in mind.
"My God, Levenisse! You're so boring!" She dramatically fanned herself with her hand. What's the use of the hanky I lent her if she's not even going to use it?
"Whatever, Jashea. We're going to be late if you continue blabbering about useless things." I walked past her. Not minding her reaction and stories about that guy.
When we already reached our classroom, my brows arched after hearing the flirtatious shriek of my classmates. Jashea and I exchanged glances. "I'm not going to make any sound." She smiled at me innocently.
I silently walked inside our classroom ignoring my classmates and attempted to seat beside the window, but my best friend Jashea whispered and begged me to sit near Brent- and so I did.
I sat beside him.
I took a glimpse of Jashea and she's now standing behind me like a gaping fish. Her eyes bulging like she have seen a ghost or something. Did I do something wrong?
I wonder what's shocking about me sitting beside our famous classmate named Brent.
"Oh, Brent... I'm sorry, Levenisse didn't know that you don't like someone sitting beside you. I’ll just ask her to sit on other unoccupied seats." Jashea pleading to be pardoned.
I rolled my eyes, ignored her and continue to sit comfortably. She's the one who begged me to sit near him yet she wants to move to the unoccupied seats because this jerk doesn’t want someone to sit beside him, is she playing with me?
Well, I'm too lazy to transfer to wherever the vacant chairs are so I am not moving.
I accidentally met Brent's gaze. He's staring at me blankly. I guess he wants to play a staring contest. Okay! Did he think I would just give in? I’ll prove him wrong. I'll be the winner.
"I'm surprised, you have the guts to sit next to me, and now you're staring back at me." He said in a stern voice.
"You'll be more surprised because I won't be moving to other seats. So pardon me, mister." I lazily responded. I tried to insert my earphones in my ears. However, surprisingly enough, he grabbed it in a swift move and it's now broken.
How dare him!
Now he have the guts to get into my nerve.
I heard my classmates gasped in disbelief. I heard how they gossip and whisper next to each other- wait, is that even what you call whisper? I can clearly hear them even from afar!
"Wanna mess up with me or you'll obediently move?" He raised his eyebrows, trying to intimidate me. I admit he's really handsome, though his looks do not complement his attitude. What a spoiled brat.
“Your best friend mentioned earlier that you don’t know me. You really don't, I supposed? Should I make you remember me instead?” He smirked in a mischievous way.
"Even if you don't exert an effort, I already know you too well." I answered while trying to fix my earphone but couldn't. It won't even work and it's now totally broken. Thanks to this spoiled jerk beside me. I guess I need to buy a new one.
"You're just a spoiled and overweening son of our university's CEO acting like you already own this school. A friendly reminder, you still don't have the power to treat other students so badly, like how you're treating me at the moment." I argued.
"Just move, I don't need to hear your lectures." He commanded like a boss. So arrogant.
I did not even try to respond. I just continue to sit next to him like I never heard him shooing me away. And just like that, he lost his cool.
He grabbed my hand and forcibly dragged me to stand up. I won't be backing down you tramp!
"Let go of me. Or else..."
"Yeah? Or else?" His eyebrows furrowed in annoyance.
"You'll taste hell." I continued while intensely staring back at him. I clenched my teeth when he held my arm tighter. I breathed heavily in fury.
"Your choice." I muttered as I tried to knee him forcefully on the spot where it hurts the most.
Once again, they all gasped in horror. Their mouths hanging wide open due to astonishment. Brent's eyes bulged, maybe he's now feeling the seething pain when I kneed his little fellow down there.
"What's this commotion all about?" Our professor scowled angrily. She eyed me and Brent, furious.
"Ms. Montemayor and Mr. Rosales, go to the detentions office. Now!"
And at that moment, I knew I'm doomed.
