Chapter 2

I suddenly woke up when suddenly someone shook me. "Daughter, wake up and let's eat." Grandma.

"Hmm..." I muttered because I was still drowsy, it was Saturday. "I'll be there grandma." When I speak, grandma might pour water on me.

"All right, get up okay?" Grandma made sure, I just nodded and stood up. I can't sleep again.

I just cleaned up and washed before going to our table.

"Anya, I will leave again lock the house if you leave and lock it inside if not, don't let someone enter that you don't know. Is that clear?" Grandma is leaving again to work. She doesn't want me to work, she think I'm still young and just studying.

"Yes, grandma, don't worry." I'm making sure my grandmother.

She just nodded and ate as well. Suddenly I thought of a question, it used to bother me.

"Ahhmm.....grandma?" My introduction. "How are you.....I mean how is my name...what ahhmmm...." She answered me before I could finish my question.

"There is a name on it on your clothes, I did not change it because it is beautiful." Grandma talking to me. Ahh...that's why my last name look like im rich.

I nodded to my grandmother and just kept quiet and just ate.

After eating, grandma immediately said goodbye and left. I set the table.

I have nothing to do now. Borriiinnggg.....

I just drew whatever, because I don't have a cellphone like my friends. Because I don't have money to buy, grandma said she will save me for that.

I also cleaned the house because it's really boring. Suddenly there was a knock on the door so I opened it and just closed it again, kids nowadays.

Then I just sat on our bed and thought, what are my real family doing maybe are they having fun now, enjoying their money. Hay....what am I imagining anyway.

Time passed I did not realize I fell asleep again I woke up around five o'clock in the afternoon, because I was already hungry.

I went to the kitchen I prepared food for me because my grandmother will probably come home tomorrow night because she is often not with me.

Fortunately, there is still a dish, not because I don't have money to buy food here, my grandmother gave me. But sometimes i really missed her. Just the two of us but were not often together.

I just ate even though I am not really used to eating alone because I prefer to have someone with me.

Then I left and went to sleep again, well I still slept eh, I just fell asleep earlier.

The next day...I woke up to the noise outside I looked at our clock on the wall and its only eight o'clock in the morning.

What's up? They were able to wake up sleeping, even cockroaches would wake up to their noise.

I washed first before I go to the door to check, I saw our neighbors who were in a commotion.

I saw that who was a bit close to me because she is almost the same age as me. "Girl!" I don't really know his name.

She turned around and saw me and wave at me and so did I. She approached me. "What is it?" She asked me.

"What is in there and they are in a group again?" I asked him curiously.

"Ah....is that it?" I nodded. "They are gossiping about our new neighbor because they said that they have a record in the other barangay, so they moved house, oh my...there is nothing really new about what crazy people are talking about." She talked to me for a long time.

"Eh you? What are you doing there?" I even asked why she was standing there earlier.

"Ahh....I will bought pandesal at the store but they suddenly gathered so I joined." He smiled and said to me, is she serious there?

"You don't gossip, do you? Or do you believe them?" I asked her.

"Huh?! Of course not! I was just curious, and if I didn't join them, you wouldn't know either." Abah! She even blamed me.

I just smiled calmly. "Buy pandesal, your mother will scold you again." I told her that she said to me, then her eyes widen.

"Of course! I forgot! All right, I'm leaving byeee..." I just waved at her.

I took some money from the room because it seemed like I also crave for pandesal and coffee.

I left the house and closed it before I passed my gossip neighbors.

We just opposite of the our new neighbor, I already bought coffee and bread, it 's good that I bought it right away because it's being sold out.

I walked home to keep the pandesal I bought, when I arrived I immediately opened the door and closed it, then I heated water on our stove and prepared.

When I ate my breakfast I took a bath, because I didn't take a bath yesterday eh...I slept a lot hahaha.

Nine thirty when I finished, I really took a long bath on Saturday or something in Sunday because I have no school then. I got dressed in a simple T-shirt and leggings because that's the only dress I have.

After I got dressed I made the bed because when grandma saw it, she would pinch me again, and it really hurts! While i was still walking, there was another knock.

Why is there always someone knocking?

Of course we don't have a door bell. I'm crazy too, Im talking to myself.

"Who is that?" I said as I approached the door. When I opened it, a man greeted me, he looked handsome until he was just my shoulder, I knew I was tall but he was taller. Infairness ah I haven't been around our whole barangay yet and there are handsome people here. "Who are they?" I asked him.

He scratched the back of his neck before speaking. "We are the new move in front of you, because Mama said we should be kind to our neighbors." He said politely to me. He looks even older than me.

"Even if they gossip about you?" I said frowning, because they are so kind. The neighbors are like that when you are good they gossip about you, when you are bad they are the same, so I just ignore them when they talk to me of course! I will talk to them too.

"Ahhmm......m-maybe?" He was not sure what he was saying to me.

I laughed, so he looked at me. Like im beautiful? Jowk. "Let them go, they really are like that to everyone. Of course Anya, Anya is my name." I said with a smile and held out my hand.

He took my hand. "I'm Endrix, nice meeting you." Endrix said happily and he was just smiling.

"Me too, do you want to come in?" Of course you have to be kind, he is kind to me.

"Ayt! No, I'll just really wanna give it to you." My neck hurts, I'm surprised because he's tall.

He gave me a paperbag. "What?" I asked in astonishment as i took what he was handing me.

"My mother cooked it and said I would give it to our opposite house." He said and I opened the paperbag, there was tupperware with only a dish, it was delicious.

I looked at him with a smile. "Ayt! Thank you please tell your mom thank you." He also smiled at me before turning his back on me. What is that?

I just let it go and went back inside, I closed the door and prepared the table. It looks so good, just it smells.

While fixing the table there was another knock again, hayyss....go ahead and give it a go. I opened the door and I saw Endrix, smiling so wide that his eyes almost disappeared from being too narrow.

"I would give this it too." He gave me a paperbag again.

"What is this?" I asked again, like before I looked at it and I was surprised to see the contents. Cupcakes!!!

"Mama is also baking so I brought you that you might like it." He said to me still smiling.

"Oh!! Thank you I love cakes and cupcakes!" I said happy to him, really happy.

"Hahaha well you liked it......." he said but I never heard the last thing he said because I was really happy and he was whispering. "All right, I'm going home, we just moved so we are still arranging our belongings."

I nodded and looked at him. "Thanks again." He just nodded and walked back to their house. I, on the other hand, immediately closed the door and sat down at the table and ate as well.

Infairness...it's delicious. We often just buy more than we cook because it's a waste on the gas, said grandma. Fortunately, there was something left over and I was eating rice, I saved it for later when grandma came and so she could also tasted it.

I opened a paperbag with only cupcakes, and ate a lot of four there. Grandma and I are both sure that grandma will be happy when she finds out that our counterpart is kind and I already have an acquaintance in our barangay, because I am not close with people....I just don't have a trip to meet them.

After I ate, I put away my food and washed the dishes. Then I cleaned the whole house.

It's five o'clock when I'm done, how long will it be that im cleaning? Because the dirt is up to the corner so I clean it so that grandma can come clean. I just bought sardines because I'm not too hungry, I'm just tired.

When I got home I got ready and ate well. I'll just wait for grandma to come before I go to sleep.

When grandma came I immediately fed her and I told her what happened to me today. Grandma was just listening and looked tired, so I put grandma to sleep and I just took the dishes before I followed and went to sleep.
