CHAPTER 6: First Detention

Skylee P.O.V

"I asked why the hell did you slap me?" He again whispered, fanning my face with his minty breath.

Why do bad boys like him have minty breaths?

"Speak up," he again whispered, leaning more that our noses were almost touching. I closed my eyes and gulped down the saliva as a cold shiver ran down my spine. Not to mention my crazy heartbeat and goosebumps that I was feeling all over me.

What's wrong with me? Why am I being so weak? He is freaking interrupting my personal space and no one dare to do it before!

I looked up at him only to meet with his piercing grey eyes looking at me so fiercely. My eyes didn't go anywhere else as I felt lost in those grey orbs but gladly, reality soon hit me that we weren't the characters of any clichè movie.

I frowned and pushed his muscular chest back only to again pull him back to me by the collar of his jacket.

His eyes widened as he again ended up more close to my face, and this time, our nose touched, sending shiver after shiver down my spine. It was unexpected for him and also for me. Both of our breaths were coming out uneven and hell, could anyone remind me we were still in the school locker area.

"Why would I tell you?" I whispered, mimicking his early tone. Somehow finding my confidence still in me.

I saw the way his grey orbs calmed and amusement filled in them. The early fierce expressions were replaced with a smudged smirk. He put his hands back on both sides of me, again caging me in between him and the damn locker.

Bravo, Skylee! You have to pull him back after pushing him away. Just bravo!

"Is that so?" His smirk deepened. I tilted my head and raised my brows challengingly more like stupidly to provoke him more. Just two inches more and this idiot could happen to end up as my accident first kiss. Damn it!

'Why am I acting like a child? Why am I being so stupid?' I cursed myself. I had never behaved like this before and now it felt like I was losing control.

His eyes reflected how much he was enjoying all of this. Those beautiful grey orbs were full of amusement. Wait... Beautiful? Seriously!? I stopped the urge to snatch those eyes off his face in annoyance.

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?"

We both jump at our spot on the loud voice and snapped our heads in the direction of it. An angry man was standing there and I could imagine the smoke coming out of his ears.

"Care to explain what the hell were you two doing there?" That angry man asked who happened to be the school supervisor – Mr. Ryan.

I remained silent, tapping my shoe impatiently on the floor. Just once I got out of this room then I would surely teach a good lesson to this jerk who was standing beside me. I glared at him and he glared back before changing his facial expressions into an innocent nerd.

"Is this school or your dating point?" Mr. Ryan glared at both of us.

'Was it a dating gesture?' I thought and cursed when I remember our position and closeness. Yes, it was. Damn it!

"Sir, I swear I wasn't doing anything. She was the one trying to take advantage of me. Didn't you see how she was holding my jacket?" He said so innocently that for a moment I thought, he was being honest.

Yeah, I was taking advantage of him when his hands were on both sides of me, caging me in. I rolled my eyes at his reply.

"I think we can't take advantage of garbage. Isn't it true, sir?" I blinked my eyes innocently. Playing along with him with a triumph card.

"We can recycle it, no sir?" He said, passing a brief glare at me.

"But not useless things, am I right sir?" I said with a cute pout.

"You're saying me useless?" He turned towards me with a glare.

"Of course, yes." I innocently blinked my eyes and sweetly smiled.

"You..."

"ENOUGH!"

Before he could say something, we both again jerk by a booming voice which was of Mr. Ryan, of course. We looked at him and he looked at us with those bloodshot vampire eyes, and his jaw set like a ticking bomb.

"Detention! Both of you!"

First detention on the very first day. Great! Such a perfect start in the new school.

"Shhh!" The librarian said for the fifth time to us and I couldn't help but glare back at her. She glared hard at me, but when she noticed I wasn't going to back off, she sighed and again got immersed in her work.

God damn it!

I couldn't even decide what was worse? Should I be angry over my first detention or the concluded reason behind the detention? Or over myself for being so stupid, childish, and so unlike of me?

I huffed. I was feeling so angry as if something inside of me was burning. As for detention, we were asked to help the library staff in taking the unusable books out of the school. We were asked to hand them to someone named 'Edward'.

Momentarily, the librarian was marking the books on the list that needed to be taken away. Whereas we were asked to wait quietly until she did her work, and then we would collect all the books out of this freaking library and hand it over to Edward.

And... It had been barely 20 minutes and I was already irritated to death. A library was not my type of place and sitting here while doing nothing was torture.

I looked at the person because of whom I was here. He was lazily plopped on the chair beside me. My gaze went to his hand where he was playing with a book by rotating it over his finger.

I was used to ignoring students like him, but today, I couldn't stop myself, or rather it was him who provoked an unknown side of me. I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Don't look at me like that. It's your fault too." He stared blankly at me.

"Yeah right!" I said sarcastically with a frown. He stopped playing with the book and sat straight on his seat.

"Alright, listen."

I ignored him.

Only if, I knew, I would get detention then I would have punched his stupid face. That would have been a valid reason for detention. Unless now, we got detention for making out which was against school rule, and for misbehaving in the supervisor's office.

Isn't it great? Making out?!? To hell with it duh!

"I'm talking to you. C'mon, tell me. Why did you slap me?" He snapped his fingers in front of my eyes. I blinked to come back to reality. Then I rolled my eyes at him. It was all your fault, Clara. You had to give me a stupid dare.

"Have I ever ditched you? Do I know you? Tell me. Have we ever met before?" He was curious. I didn't know why, but his curiosity amused me. I smirked as I looked at him.

"Why would I tell you?"

A sigh escaped his lips as he ran a hand through his hair. It seemed like he was composing himself.

When he looked back at me, the amusement in his eyes and that stupid smirk were back on his face.

"Do you know who I am?"

"Why? Don't you know who you are?" I asked with fake shock. He looked at me with a look that said 'oh-what-a-nice-joke!' and laughed.

"Sshhhh!"

"I'm the biggest player in this school." He quite moved closer to my face and whispered in my ear. I, so damn hate these shivers which ran down my spine, whenever he whispered something to me.

Why the hell did he have to move closer to me? And what the hell was wrong with me? I felt a weird kind of thing when he come closer.

"I heard you're a player." I paused and looked at him. My breath stopped for a moment. He was so close to my face, and those grey eyes were doing something with the rhythm of my heart. I cleared my throat as I pushed him back. "Nice to meet you, I'm the coach," I said.

"What are you!?" He glared frustratedly. What? Did he expect me to kiss him?

"Sshhhh!" The librarian again glared at us. We ignored him.

"Not interested in telling you," I said and pulled out my phone. It was buzzing continuously for a minute now.

Number 1: Where are you?

Number 2: Do you want us to come inside?

Number 1: Is something wrong in there? Because school is off 25 minutes ago.

Number 2: Skylee, is everything alright? You want us to come inside.

Me: Guys, take a chill pill. I'll be a little late.

"Come on tell me and I will stop bothering you... Maybe... Anyways, why the heck did you slap me?" He again asked. His frustration got out of him. He was so damn curious.

I chose to ignore him and started to play a game on my phone. But after a minute or two, he snatched my phone from my hand, making me yell, "WHAT THE HELL?"

"Keep quiet you two or else I'll have to toss you out of here!" That old nasty librarian glared at me. I ignored her and looked at him with a toxic glare. I had been glaring too much around him that my eyes had started to ache.

"Give it back," I hissed.

"Tell me first." He demanded.

I snarled, but back off on my seat and said calmly, "Okay, keep it."

"I will find it out soon." He smirked arrogantly before he put my phone on the table in front of me.

"I dare you," I smirked, showing my arrogance.

"Watch me." His brows creased as he slapped his hand hard on the table. That made a loud thud echoed in the silent library. I bit my tongue and looked at the librarian whose last line of patience vanished.

"GET. OUT. Both of you!"

"But detention?" I didn't mean you put oil in the fire...

But it worked like that as her face became red and she yelled at the top of her,

"Forget it! Just get the hell out of here!"

And in no time, we were standing out of the school.

I literally wanted to laugh, but I couldn't even crack a chuckle. This day couldn't get more adventurous.

I glanced at Eric for the last time before I walked towards my car. Number 1 opened the door for me and I slid inside it. I threw my bag beside me, closed my eyes, and leaned back on the seat.

"What took you so long?" Number 1 asked.

"I got detention," I said and got greeted with pin-drop silence. It continued for a minute until I open my eyes and looked at their faces. They both were staring at me like I had grown two heads.

"What?" I tilted my head skeptically at them.

Number 2 coughed to clear his throat and started the car while Number 1 asked, "How was your first day?"

"Really. Really. Bad." I hissed, reminding everything fast forward in my head.

"That guy seems like the one from LA club, is he?" Number 1 asked.

"Don't ask." I sighed.
