Alex asked as we quietly stared at the glass box. 


I admitted honestly with a nervous smile. 


Alex finally, broke her gaze from the box to me as she scrunched her face. 


" It does but you must learn how to control it once it cages your brain. It could make you do things that you don't want to " 


I explained walking towards the glass box. 


I sighed before clearing my throat, getting ready to explain how it works 


" Once it cages you brain, it controls you if you can't control it. For instance, you'll be tempted to find out what happened in the past or what happens in the future and it just does what you want. You could change the past which could affect the future and that's where Chronokinesis comes in. If you can't control it then you'll either be stuck in the past or the future, hurt others or worst, hurt yourself " 


" So if you can control it and go to the future?"She asked again, and at that moment all I could see was an inquisitive little girl. 


" Then, you just know what happens in the future" 


" I don't still get why you haven't tried it then. How did you even know it works?" 


" It works because it did not ignite and that is the only reaction expected. And the reason I haven't tried it is because I don't want to hurt anyone. You can't imagine how much control that thing has. It studies your whole being and any form of vulnerability makes it dominant. It makes you violent once it senses any threat, which is if you can't control it. I don't want to test it on myself because no one will be able to extract it out of my brain and even if you're not a threat to me, I'm not as brave as you are and I'm not risking you close to me when that thing is around my brain " 


I said, pointing to the lightning ball inside the glass. 


Alex suggests and I already start chanting my disapproval. 


No way my child is testing that thing, no way.

She narrowed her eyes at me and before I could object again, she cut me off.

I palmed my face, my mind - a full mess.

I gulped and wheeled desk carrying the glass box towards Alex and she layed down there, probably anxious.

She reasoned before taking a deep breath, causing me to sigh. 


I hollered remembering that I needed to turn off the fan. 


" You know that the experiment wasn't supposed to ignite. Meaning it contains enough bleak in it. Any form of contact with a cold environment once that thing is in you could hurt you or possibly kill you, depending on the degree" 


I explained as the fan finally came to a stop. 


I whispered before using my shaky hands to open the box from behind. 


" I can't change the past but I can change the future "
