Chapter Ten - To Those Who Come After Us

It has been four years now since we moved to Gran Canaria. Both of our families used some of the money from the first few diamond sales and purchased two thousand acres of land, which we were shown in the first days we arrived. Keara and Tom took a thousand acres, and we took the rest. On the land we each built ourselves a grand villa next to the sea, our dream homes .It took the workers three years to build each house, but you should see them. They are magnificent: red roof, and from the seaside they are three stories tall a courtyard, with a grand fountain in the middle and riding stables. As you enter and make your way through the homes, they open up to the view of the ocean. From here I can sit each night and look out over the ocean and watch the sun set. This is the part I love most.

For the very first time, I have a bed to sleep in that I will not have to give up again, a place that is ours. There will be no more moving on. You could not imagine how much this means to us.
