Stuck Between Them

I arrive at the park l agreed to meet Adam. There are so many people around but l could care less. I hate people but today l am in my feelings. Adam arrives shortly wearing black dress pants and a white shirt. He has no tie so he unbuttoned three of his buttons. He walks so confidently that all women are literally staring. Many try to talk to him but he ignores them. A part of me is happy that he is focused on me. His eyes seem as if they are staring in my soul. 


‘’Hey’’ is all l can say. What is it about him that makes me nervous when he comes? 


‘’Hi are you okay? What happened? Are you okay? Did someone hurt you? Answer me Ariana”. I almost laugh at his worried expression. 


‘’Okay hold up. One: You asked how l was twice and no l am not okay. And two yes someone hurt me. I sit that obvious?” 


‘’No it’s not but l can tell when something is wrong. Spending over 6 weeks with you l start noticing things. Like how you pretend to be happy when you are not’’
