Home

I tried to chase him but I saw the lift closing, so I took the other one.

I was pressing the Ground floor button impatiently.

When I arrived at the lobby, my phone was vibrating several times.

I was about to turn my phone off when I saw the caller's name.

"Mom?" It was my mother calling me.

"I've heard that you're in the company? How was it? Oh! By the way, your Dad and I planned to fetch you. Stay there for a while with your brother. We're already near. I'm excited to see you! We missed you!" She said excitedly.

I let out a loud sigh.

I am beyond frustrated!

When can I get a time of my own?!

Out of frustration, I held a vase and threw it to burst out my anger.

I saw people gossiping and eyeing me. Their eyes were so judgmental.

Hell! I didn't even notice that a piece of glass made a cut onto my skin, causing it to release droplets of blood on the floor.

"What the hell are you looking at? Stop chit-chatting and do your work!" I yelled at the people looking at me.

I had no choice but to calm myself as I went inside the office again.

I'm certain that my brother will scold me again. Not only because of the scene I cause, but because of Gulf too.

I mean, how can I not show up when I saw the person I love being harassed?

Ever since Gulf and I broke up, he forgot that I'm his brother when it's about Gulf.

When he knew what I did, he punched me. Right in front of our parents but I didn't fight back nor get mad at him because I know how important Gulf is to him. I know that I deserved it.

He treats Gulf like a family. And in our family, we opt to protect which I failed to do before.

So now, I'm just frustrated because I can't do anything.

Mom and Dad are coming and I don't know where Kuya Tong is. Probably with Gulf.

And I'm here, waiting at the office.

Should I call Kuya?

Yeah, okay. I'll call him.

I dialed my brother's number and he answered after a few rings.

"I'm on my way to the office. I have something to remind you." He said and ended the call.

Is this something important?

Is this about Gulf?

An hour and a half, Kuya Tong came first, then our parents.

He's not talking to me though.

Maybe he's controlling himself from anger.

When our parents arrived earlier, we pretended to be close and so that's how our dinner went.

Kuya Tong brought me to a hotel near the company. He said this will be my temporary room until I rent a condo on my own.

"About what I told you a while ago," he started.

"Okay, before you continue. Answer my question first. Why did you not tell me about Gulf working in our company? And what do I not know?" I asked, still confused.

"You act like you left yesterday. Don't question me like I did something horrible to you. I didn't even ask about your plans neither I didn't push you to do the things you don't like. To answer your question, yes, I hired him. And the things you don't know, keep it that way." He said with finality.

What's with me leaving?

It's not like we lost connection when I left, so he shouldn't hide something from me.

Wait,

"What? Are you hiding something from me?"

"That something will soon be revealed and it should only come from one person. So don't force me to say it unless you want Gulf to get mad at the both of us. Here's the thing, Gulf is not around the office every 8th of the month. And if you really want to know everything, go ask him yourself. I'm leaving." He said and left abruptly.

What do I need to know?

Is he out of his mind already? He knows how Gulf wants me to be out of his life and he's the one who told me to keep my distance. Now he wants me to go ask him myself?

Would he even talk to me?

Gulf's POV

As soon as we arrived home, I got a hot seat right away.

“Tell me, hurry! Now!" Mild said as we sat on the sofa.

I can't even think of what happened earlier, what should I tell him? That we had physical contact so that the old man will stop? That's what really happened, right?

That's all that really happened.

"I have nothing to add to what I said earlier. He just helped me to get rid of that old man and then I left." I said as nothing really happened after that.

"And why did you leave?" He asked.

Is he crazy?

He knows how much hate I had for him and what does he want, say hello to him?

How was it being single while I was raising a child -

"You! You’re the one who’s keeping secrets from me. You're not telling me anything," I change our conversation.

"Me? What about me?” He asked and pointed to himself. Oh, what an in denial person.

"Who is watching over my son again now?" I asked while still looking around every corner of the house as if looking for something and he was surprised when I looked at him.

Mild is blushing!

"What? Uhm, Boat.” He stuttered.

"Who is Boat again in your life?" I intrigued him.

"What, uhm, Mew's cousin." This animal. Acting like an innocent teenager.

"Ah, really? Just a cousin? What else?" I really enjoy teasing Mild every time he’s nervous or he’s caught off guard.

"My E-Ex. There, happy?" I laughed secretly especially when I saw Boat coming out of the room.

I motioned for him to be quiet so maybe Mild didn't notice because his back was facing that door.

“Then why is he suddenly here?” I was just waiting for him to say something and then I would not tease him anymore.

He looks like a child being scolded by his mother because he was caught hanging out with a guy in their house. He’s looking at the floor and fidgeting with his hands.

"I thought that you would come home late. Then, I-I met him there somewhere." I looked at Boat and I saw him laughing as well, he probably understood why I turned to him and his two arms formed a cross sign. A sign that what Mild is saying is not true.

Gotcha! What an alibi.

"Do you still love him?" I asked Mild and Boat was surprised as he was leaning against the door jamb.

I know they still love each other.

They can’t deny the fact that I’ve seen how their relationship started and ended.

I know Mild from the top to bottom, he can’t hide these things from me.
