The Globe

The dungeon below was layered with blue stones. There was no source of light for Jeff and his two sleighs. Nor was there a way to get back up. Vanessa and Jaivva came out in their fighting stances with nothing to fight.

Vanessa turned to a sleigh, "Hakim, we need you to sense the enemy".

Mina hid low in the other sleigh when no response was given. The gingerbread men stared lost to any thought.

Vanessa walked over, finding Hakim choked against a seat. She and Jaivva hopped in to save him, yet didn't know how. Jeff ordered his gingies to keep watch.

Hakim's skin lost his colors. They tried dragging him out. His feet kept kicking their heads. After a good struggle, his flailing stopped. Both girls were lost to what happened.

Mina whimpered, "What happened"?

His body cracked to ashes. A transparent figure resembling him flew from his body. Creepy, yet scary that Vanessa couldn't move her feet.

"I can't move," said Vanessa.

"What?" asked Jaivva.

Vanessa cried out, "I can't move"!

Jaivva set fire down by Vanessa's feet. Nothing was seen. But she was able to move again. The girls jumped out.

"There's something in there!" yelled Jaivva.

Jeff stared, "What was it"?

Vanessa stuttered, "Is, Mmm, I don't know. Is not there. Buuut, he choked. Aaaand-".

He looked throughout the halls frantically before saying, "It's a ghost. We can beat them with magic. But we need to run".

Both Vanessa and Jaivva sprinted down the dungeon. The air following them smacked dust into Jeff's face. He coughed his way to Mina's side. She was hyperventilating at the sight of ghosts swarming around them

The two girls were too fast to be hit. Their reflexes were too swift to be trapped. Their fades were unmatched. Even with the walls shifting again, no ghost could touch them.

The walls kept shifting, leading the girls into a hoard of ghosts. One grabbed Vanessa's leg. Jaivva tripped reaching for her hand.

Vanessa burned it with her Venus flower. The ghost sizzled in air before it vanquished. Both stared as they now realize they were overreacting.

"Crap, we lost everybody," said Jaivva.

Both jumped into a sprint to blindly race down the cave. It was Vanessa who realized the air was muckier in certain areas. She pitched the idea that the ghosts were centered in the muckier areas. Though hesitant, they had to save the team.

The air grew thicker. The ghosts were attacking heavily. On the plus side, it was also getting colder. This made little sense until for once, the girls heard a noise. It was a hollow motion, much like wind. The dungeon was just as dark as before. "But what the hell," they thought as they looked deeper into the dungeon for the source of the odd sounds.

Corner after corner the girls turned. The maze shifted a few times. Luckily they kept finding themselves on track to the source of the noise. And with a sharp turn, they found it. It was a big room outlined with gargoyles. Their fangs were sharp. Claws were tough, digging into their respective posts. They had no wings. They were lifeless and of no importance.

A completely normal snowglobe at 20 feet tall stood in the center, shining like the frost-covered sky outside. Snowflakes swirled inside along with Hakim's spirit.

Vanessa enchanted her clade and body in lighting. She released a fury of strikes against the globe. Not a scratch appeared.

A shockwave shot from the globe. Ghosts from the dungeon assembled into it.

The girls got ready as it shook. Two large grey hands reached out of the globe. It pulled itself out of the glowing globe. Its head was draped in a torn black cloth.

The ghost aimed for Jaivva only to be sliced in the head by Vanessa's lightning blade. Her blade fell through doing very little damage.

It slashed its claw through Vanessa. Doing so injured it greatly.

After screaming at the ceiling, the ghost flew across the room into a gargoyle.

Vanessa released a lightning blast right at it. The gargoyle didn't even chip. Luckily Jaivva was in range to swing her blade at its head.

It was heavy but slow. She kept safe, smashing her blade into it when possible.

Vanessa swung by, chipping its arms away until they fell off.

Once defeated, the ghost flew back into the globe.

Jaivva yelled, "Vanessa, keep fighting it! I'm gonna smash these gargoyles while I can"!

The ghost aimed for Jaivva only to be intercepted by a lightning blast from Vanessa.

Its head was struck, causing it to fly into a gargoyle near Jaivva.

Something about the gargoyle's attacks led Jaivva to become entangled. A small gesture allowed it to grip and toss her across the room.

Vanessa pierced its head off, causing the ghost to fly to the globe.

Now enraged, the ghost attacked Jaivva. She created swirling balls of flames that beat into the ghost once it was in range.

It spewed a black sludge as it flew into another gargoyle.

Vanessa attacked head-on. Though it was faster now, each strike was parried by her blade.

Upon defeating the gargoyle, the ghost flew directly into another.

It attacked Jaivva who was barely able to hold off its attacks. Vanessa tried to attack the globe directly. But her katana was easily repelled.

After the failed attempt, she helped Jaivva destroy the gargoyle.

The ghost flew out. Neither paid it any mind. Instead, they focused on destroying the remaining statues.

It flew towards Jaivva for a fatal attack. Vanessa cloaked herself in lightning again to attack it head-on. Taking its blow, the ghost retreated to the globe.

It glowed again with the ghost poking its head out for an attack.

Jaivva yelled, "Quick, the globe"!
