Under the overhead of the well-lit boat, Vanessa petted every animal she crossed. Their fur was real. Not real as in it looked real. It was in reality faux. So actually soft and enjoyable.
The chunky house cat standing on two legs felt like a cat. The shivering possum felt like a short haired cat simply because Vanessa never touched a possum in her life. The bluebird stretched its necks as she rubbed her fingers through its feathers.
All the animals allowed her to do as she pleased out of fear. But this feature didn't stand out to her. She credited their shaking knees to the fact that they were all wet and cold.
"Captain!" cried a lizard, "Is there a way to dry ourselves off".
Vanessa was still petting animals, gazing into their big beautiful eyes as she took them into her arms. Many she even hummed a soft hymm to.
Jeff called over the intercom, "If you need to dry off, try running in circles around the boat"!
