The Final Act

Vanessa and Jaivva left everybody to their demise. Not that they cared. They genuinely didn't. Nobody wanted to get stabbed in the feet, burnt from the inside, stabbed, looked at, nor talked to. Which is why the two lovely women ran without saying a word. Come to think of it, they had left Alice somewhere in this crazy maze and didn't care. It was her day to become a big girl anyway.

Red rose petals flew ahead, surrounding Vanessa at every turn she made. Even when running back, they swished around, cutting at her skin. Jaivva attempted to follow her lead. She could tell something bad was coming. Thus she balled her fist and shook her shins. Whoever was coming was going to feel it.

The swirling petals slowed down to a mute as Vanessa took a defensive stance. A spear swung in for her neck. A quick tilt of the head minimized damage to a gashed cheek.
