Carter grinned as he accepted the two Mauser Pistols from the man, "Nice," he turned to Logan, "I guess we'll see a trick from you after all".
Logan shook his head, "Ssshhhhh".
Vanessa stared at the man's vest. The clover stuck out to her. The prisoner, the leprechaun, the biker, and the gambling titan. All of them had clovers. What made it worse was Carter's relationship with the prisoner last month as well as this one. Still, she trusted Carter for some reason.
Carter waved his hand in front of her, "Vanessa!" she shooked, "I need you to stand by that wall," he handed her three glass cups, "And place these on your head and shoulders".
Vanessa did as instructed, unable to ease her mind, "Wait. What am I doing"?
"Standing," Carter began spinning and juggling the pistols around his body, while he positioned himself 25 meters away, "Very still".
He without giving sight of when he pulled the trigger, Carter shot the glass above her head. As she jumped a bit, he fired two more shots which broke the two glasses on her shoulders.
Everybody in the diner clapped, including Logan, "Looks you finally got yourself a trick," He stretched his neck, "And that stupid glove you always wanted," he pulled Vanessa in for a hug, "Are you okay".
Vanessa rested her chin on Logan's shoulder and held her palms into the air, "I'm here. I think".
"Really Logan," Carter pulled his chest back, "You're not gonna try to do a better trick"?
Logan shook his head, "No, you win. You're better with guns anyways and Vanessa is scared enough. She actually takes the games seriously unlike a certain person on the team".
Hakken looked away from the four and nodded to herself the dilemma he was speaking of. It helped her realize that there was a big problem on the team which needed to be fixed if they needed to make it to the pro leagues.
After seeing Logan perform a reality check to give Carter Houdini's Gloves, she mildly clapped, "And bravo for the first day in Logan's life that I have ever seen him act like an adult".
Carter cracked his jaw, "He's still a child. Honestly, I really don't think he could've beaten me on this challenge".
Logan rubbed Vanessa's back, "Whatever man. You won," ignoring Carter's mumbling, he turned to the bald German, "How are you"?
The German declined to take his guns from Carter, "You can keep it. I saw you all walking on by and figured you were all new around here".
Vanessa whispered into Logan's ear, "I don't trust him".
Kiki rocked, "We're good. Just passing through".
Before the German could utter a word, Hakken cut him off, "I take it you would like to help us".
Carter, Logan, and Kiki stared at her for a moment before the German nodded his bald head, "Well yes. If you all would like, I can perhaps help".
Hakken stood and blurted, "That would be great"!
"Then please," the bald German bowed over his own fist, "Call me Otto".
