Chapter 18: Demoted

A brewing storm was forming in both the mind and eyes of the Commander. His job was seemingly becoming difficult each day, all thanks to the rebels who were also proving to be a nuisance each time. He was set, prepared and ready to hand over the mantle of leadership to his second-in-command, so he could retire and finally recover all the quality time he missed out on with his family. However, the likelihood of that ever happening was now faint.

“And what is the cause of this particular uprising this time around?” he questioned.

“Commander, I don’t think this information should be disclosed in public,” the enforcer uttered, referring to the fact that they had company. The Commander stole a glance at the crowd and twirled a moustache with his hand, as though he was in a deep thought.

“For once, I think you’re right,” the Commander voiced, making his newest recruit bob his head. “Follow me.”
