Chapter 28: Alas!

“You look oddly…calm,” Millenia said with a creased brow, as she plopped down in the seat opposite Livingstone.

Her eyes studied his posture with observant eyes. Like the other members in their midst, her anticipation to see an ignited reaction from him after he shared the news of his father’s kidnapping with them was met with a cool, reserved gaze. The energy surrounding the calculative eyes which stared upward were undismayed and unfaltering. His demeanor was hard to read and his body language was laid-back. It almost felt as if he was unbothered by the news he just shared with them.

“Well, the good news out of all this is that we now know the exact location of the Chancellor.” Yue joined the conversation, and flashed them her most overt smile. “There is no need to assume that Stone would be meeting him at the HQ of The Council.”

After sharing a quick glance, Emre and Millenia nodded in unison at her words.
