As Aaron Noah recalled the murders, there was no neglected detail or evidence, only leaving more missing pieces in the puzzle.
First murder
Detective Aaron Noah and detective Smith reached together to the murder of Mateo Jones, an opulent landlord who was notorious among the indigent natives for his unscrupulous attitude. When they reached his house, they saw him laying lifeless on the floor. They came across the same ludicrous verses which read as follows:
"No money came, no help came
When his screams echoed in vain
But the knives that gave him pain
For the sins that he claimed"
No DNA was left on the paper, nor any fingerprints. The deep stabs from the golden knife he owned were the cause of his death as it laid at the side, now only futile. Detective Smith known for being imprudent, tore the paper into half and threw it on the floor with only the orders to bury the body, but little did he know that he was the next victim.
Second murder
Nobody was informed of the second murder; detective Smith, being irresponsible and careless, was said to be gone for a vacation, and had to return the following day, but there was no news about him; soon, a letter approached the agency with the incomplete verses:
"No use of an imprudent one
To the society he is a useless one
His death was destined from before
As the hatred for him came from my deepest core"
The letter was written in blood and contained the petrifying pictures of his dead body, which spread terror all around. People could only await with trepidation, fearing that they would be the next victim.
Detective Aaron Noah hurriedly reached the place where detective Smith's murder took place. His distorted body layed in wet grass, beaten without recognition; his clothes were now drenched in blood. The bat used to beat him now lied beside home covered in blood. Again, there was no DNA, but there were fingerprints. Unfortunately, with use of old technology, nobody could get far or identify who they belonged to. The doctors were cretinous, so they were of no use.
Third murder
With detective Smith dead, detective Noah was left to solve the third case all by himself. Unlike the other detectives, he was concerned about the agitated people; he was pressurised and also petrified with the killings going on, as they kept on increasing. He set many baits to lure the murderer but none of them worked. Nothing attracted the murderer as if they were blinded with the murkiness of revenge and hatred.
The third target was Yvette Scott, a 19 year old girl, who was also a student of Oakwood Highschool. She was found dead, stuffed into the janitor's closet, with signs of strangling. The only piece of evidence that was left was a torn pice of cloth smeared with blood, with more incomplete verses:
"She was the one to start not me
This is just revenge for her atrocities
She was just a stone in the way of others
Not letting them progress further
And one of them was my dear sister
Where Yvette blocked her flowing river
Her murderous role
Killing my sister's ambitious soul
The piece of clothing was stained and dirty, and it appeared to have a yellow and white pattern beneath it. This was a vital evidence but with the debilitated state of the forensic labs and the ludicrous behaviour of the detectives, the case wouldn't proceed towards success, but rather the victory of homicide.
Can the case only be solved with the help of detective Miller?
