How can he be so ruthless?

Wang Yong ignored everyone's sympathetic eyes and polite condolences throughout the class. Even the class president who was his personal tutor, Qin Zexi stuttered out her own comforting words which he found adorable. She was probably the only classmate he liked in this school and that's why he always made sure that she was under his protection. No one was allowed to bully her!

Of course, he wouldn't even mention that class teacher of his, who probably had a twisted illusion that she was his mother, since she was always meddling in his business. he waited until everyone in the class had gone home before he gathered his friends for a secret meeting. "Tell me how the transfer went."

Fu Pei spoke up. "Don't worry, everything has been taken care of. Your grandmother was successfully transfered to a top tier hospital abroad and there will be no traces of her anywhere."

Bai Du smacked his friend's shoulder in reassurance, thinking that he was still worried about her. "Don't worry, bro! Your grandma is safe!"

"That's good. I plan to visit my godfather this night so be prepared." Wang Yong's grin convinced his friends that he was really up to no good. But anytime Kong Zhu realized that his junior brother was about to tell on him, he always tried to attempt an assassination on him.

Bai Du revealed his thoughts. "I think its better if we-." But he was interrupted by the arrival of a certain girl who was currently showing her ugly, fuming.

"Wang Yong! We need to talk about what you did this morning! How could you do this to me?" Mingxia normally behaved in a gentle and sweet manner which make her charismatic among her peers. But now, her whole countenance had changed to the opposite, making her look like a demon that had just arrived from hell.

Bai Du stood up in anger, hitting the table with his fists. "Mingxia! Just who do you think you are?!"

"Just stay out of this, Bai Du! The person who I am demanding an explanation from here is Wang Yong!" After furiously screaming at him leaving him speechless, she turned to face Wang Yong with a hurtful and hateful expression. "Wang, I have always been faithful and supportive, using my family's connections to bail you out of different situations yet all you have done is treat me like trash. Even though you said that you didn't love me, you promised me that you will always treat me well!"

"I lied." Wang Yong remained indifferent to her crying skit and instead played with his phone, turning away from her.

"Wang Yong! Don't think that I will allow you to leave me for a cheap freak like Qin Zexi! Over my dead body!" Mingxia screamed loudly, making the three boys frown.

"Get her out of here." Wang Yong signaled Bai Du who was more than happy to help him. Mingxia started crying when Bai Du gripped her elbow, dragging her out of the class room and throwing her away at the hallway entrance.

Fu Pei stood up and collected his bag and Bai Du's things, saying. "We should get going, Wang. See you later."

"En." Wang Yong waved him goodbye and turned to face the person who has been following him all this while. " So tell me the truth, is our father really dying?"

"Yes, he is. He doesn't have much time." Mingli sat down, drawing on a paper with his legs crossed. "What I don't understand is why he is keeping it a secret from the rest of the family."

"For other reasons, of course." Wang Yong smirked. It seems like things were truly not as it seemed in the surface when it came to the Liu family. How interesting! "I plan to come live there."

"Live where?" Mingli finally dropped his watercolour brush and gently released huffs of air on the paper, waiting for it to dry.

"In the Liu family mansion!" Wang Yong saw that Mingli had dropped the paper, looking at him with a serious expression.

"Are you sure that's what you want to do?" Mingli felt torn between encouraging him to take care of himself and just telling him the cold hard truth.

"Yes, I am sure that this will be entertaining to observe their habits and scheming ways." Wang Yong jumped up with renewed energy as he picked his bag and said. " Well then, I better start packing! "

At 10:30pm.....

Kong Zhu rolled on the floor, groaning in pain but he dared not say anything when he saw the man approaching him in anger. He cried out weakly. "Godfather, let me explain!"

Kúiwù angrily kicked him in the stomach, making him yelp as he flew back a few feet away. The members of the Dragon Gang who were present were all initially terrified of the big, intimidating elite bodyguards who stood there like statues. Most of them were just petty thieves and small business gangsters, was there any need to call them here?!

"What was the instruction I gave you when I was about to leave?" Kúiwù roared at him, grabbing his collar to pick him up like a rag.

"You said that I should contact you immediately if there is any emergency...." Kong Zhu sputtered. "....B-But I..."

"But you didn't think that the death of your junior brother's grandmother was an emergency?" Kúiwù was really struggling to hold himself back from strangling his godson so he exhaled harshly.

"I..I-I...." Kong Zhu struggled for an explanation but somehow his instincts warned him not to lie to his godfather so he tried to beg instead. "Uncle, please....."

"I told him, it was a really an emergency! Now my poor grandmother..." Wang Yong interjected with a sorrowful and pained voice. Unknown to him, his two friends secretly rolled their eyes at his theatrics.

"Just shut it!" Kúiwù shouted at him, making Wang Yong pout before he finally closed his mouth. He turned his attention to his first godson who was in fact his late sister's son. He had always turned a blind eye to the boy's misdeeds but this time, what was he going to do with him?

How could he be so ruthless to watch an old woman, his own junior brother's grandmother die?
