Lone Wolf

I run inside the Skellies base, zooming up to the top floor. It only takes a few moments before I arrive. When I get to the room where Daniel usually is, instead of finding the nice, clean, and quiet room, I found a full, loud and noisy room. Daniel and a bunch of other guys were all debating what to do about the situation until they were rudely distracted by my unexpected arrival. As soon as Daniel saw me, he quickly excused himself from the room and met with me in the hallway.

"What are you doing here? Did something bad happen at the cafe?"

"No, the cafe is fine, but that's not what I'm here about. I need to know what exactly is happening. Why are you and the Reapers fighting?"

"Oh that? Those punks want to get rid of us. Since they have a larger group and they paid off the guards, they have a complete advantage. There's nothing at all that we can do."

"If I took care of the Reapers, would you be able to take care of everything else?"

"Take care of the Reapers? How would you do that?"

"That doesn't matter. What matters is the answer to my question. Would you be able to take care of everything else if I deal with the Reapers?"

"Yes, I could."

"Good. Now then, I need to borrow a mask. Do you have any?"

"Yeah, I should have one. Let me get it."

Daniel went back into the room only to reemerge a few moments later. In his hand, he held a white ceramic mask with two eyes hole to peek out of. The mask was decorated to look like a skeleton. Thankfully, the only part of my face that would be revealed is my eyes.

I take the mask from him. I don't want to be affiliated with any of the gangs, so I will scratch off the black paint.

"Hey, what are you doing? That is one of my special masks. I may have agreed to let you borrow it, but I didn't say you could damage it!"

When I finished, it was just a plane white ceramic mask. I slid the mask over my face, and it fit surprisingly well.

"I'll be back when I finish. Wait until then."

At that, I jumped out one of the open windows from the third floor, landing on the nearby rooftops. My destination was the Reapers base. My goal is to take them all out.

As I ran, my mind raced with the information I just learned from Daniel.

This entire war was because they didn't want to deal with the Skellies? Why didn't they just bribe the guards to take care of them? It would have reduced the bloodshed significantly, sparing innocent lives. Instead, they chose to bribe the guards to adopt a hands-off policy for the next few days. If I had to guess, it would be because they wanted to send a message. They wanted to show everyone that they would be in control now. The Skellies would be dead, the guards would be bribed, and the citizens would no longer be safe. Unforgivable.

It wasn't long before I arrived at the Reapers base one again. This time, I stood from the roof tops, glaring down at everyone below me. Even though it had only been an hour since I had attacked all of them to save Kelly, it seems like they had all recovered. They probably have multiple magic users with healing abilities, not that it changes anything.

Now then, how will I bring the fighting to an end? I could use black magic, but considering how the butler at the boomtown reacted, it would most certainly be a bad idea. I could negotiate, but I imagine that it wouldn't work. A simple beat down wouldn't be enough to stop them either, and I can't kill them, even if they've done horrible things. That just leaves one option then.

I have plants rise from the ground beneath their base. The plants grow insanely quick, breaking through the buildings supports, crashing through its windows, and cracking the walls. The plant that I created with my imagination was a bean stalk from old fairy tales in my old world.

After the building had completely filled with plants, I had the bean stalk grow upwards, reaching unimaginably high into the sky. It got so high that it passed the smoke and clouds that hid the night sky. Reapers were quickly jumping out of the building, trying desperately to avoid being crushed by the plant that was taking up all of the space inside. Soon, all of the nearby Reapers stood beneath my magnificent bean sprout, staring up at it with dropped jaws. I then stopped the bean stalks growth, leaving it to stand incredibly tall for all to gaze upon.

"DO YOU SEE MY POWER!?"

My voice explodes outwards, nearly deafening in volume. Everyone's eyes instantly turn towards me, fear replacing the awe that had just filled their eyes only moments before. There was a complete silence as everyone stared fearfully towards me, terrified of what I might do next.

"CEASE YOUR FIGHTING, OR DIE BY MY HANDS!"

Almost all of them fell to the ground as my words left my mouth. They were all shaking, their eyes wide and their jaws dropped. It seems like I've done it. The only idea I could come up with was fear. If I could scare the Reapers, I could command them to stop the fighting. They of course would listen out of fear for their lives.

I jumped from the rooftop that I had been standing on and landed right in front of all the scared men. Most of them instinctively crawled backwards to try and create distance between themselves and me.

Now then, all I need is one last demonstration of my power to seal the deal. I create every type of magic before me. Earth, water, fire, wind, plant, healing, and light. I have them all circle slowly around me, showing them off. They all appear in their own form, showing that I held their power. When I did, the blood drained from each and every one of their faces.

"NOW LEAVE!"

In an instant, they all got to their feet and ran as if their lives depended on it. Mission accomplished.
