Princess

We stared awkwardly at each other as the elves contemplated what they should do. After a few seconds of thinking, the male elf sheathed his sword.

"My brethren lied to you, so as punishment for their action, I will allow you to meet the princess unbound."

"Thank you very much."

I bowed slightly as a show of thanks, but they didn't seem to care.

"Follow me. You two, have those three traitors bound and escorted to the dungeon. Everyone else, walk with. If she does anything that seems suspicious, don't hesitate. Go for the kill."

I'm right here you know. Oh well, I can't blame them for being cautious. It seems humans did something horrible to cause this kind of prejudice from the elves.

As I thought quietly to myself, the male elf began to lead me towards the castle. Not wanting to cause any problems, I did as he said and followed him towards the castle where the princess should be.

Many Elves stopped and stared as we walked past, and some became aggressive on my map, but no one moved. Instead, they let me and the other elves walk past right into the castle.

As we walked through the tall and wide entrance of the castle, more Elves dressed in a special uniform blocked our path.

"State your business."

"A human has infiltrated the castle walls. We are taking her to the princess."

"Understood."

The specially dressed Elf then turned around and began walking further into the castle. The entrance led into one large hall all the way up to a larger, grander door. The guard knocked on the door in a certain rhythm, and that resulted in the large door being opened as well.

When the door opened, another guard answered the first who had knocked. The first passed on what was told to him, and then the second guard walked back into the room. Thanks to my excellent vision, I was able to see into the room despite the immense distance.

There was a throne at the very end of the castle where a pretty girl sat. The guard walked in a dutiful stance up to the princess before passing on the message. The princess nodded once and the guard began to return. He then nodded at the first guard, who began to return himself. After that, the first guard returned.

"You may enter."

With those words, the Elf blockade opened up and we were allowed to pass through. The second door remained open and allowed us in as well. From there, we were led up to the throne.

Once we stood in front of the throne, we were stopped. The princess rose from her seat, and every Elf in the room immediately knelt down on one knee with one arm crossed over their chest.

Maybe I should do the same?

"Are you the human girl?"

As I mentioned before, it was a girl that sat upon the throne. A girl that seemed to be fifteen years old, just like my body.

Her voice was soft and sweet, pulling me in from the first word.

Why am I even this attracted? I'm not in to girls! Hell, I don't even want to date anyone in this world, so why do I feel so attracted?

Magic? Dark magic?

If it is dark magic, using light magic might release me from its grasp. Well, I've got nothing to lose.

I produced a small amount of light magic within my body, being sure to keep it undetectable. Miraculously, I snapped out of the trance I was in.

As soon as I snapped out, a look of shock placed itself upon her face. I guess this doesn't normally happen.

"What are you?"

Her question rang throughout the large room, yet she didn't yell. Because of her question, everyone suddenly looked up towards the princess, trying to see what she meant. They turned from her to me, and back again.

I guess this really is unusual.

"How did you escape my love magic?"

Love magic? Is that a real thing?

Everyone in the room gasped upon hearing Elizabeth's words. Just how serious was escaping her magic?

"I've never met a single person able to free themselves once put under the spell of my love magic."

A small smile crossed her thin lips.

"How interesting..."

I suddenly feel uncomfortable.

She stared at me for a few more seconds before finally snapping out of it on her own.

"Now then, since I can't use my magic on you, there is no way to ensure if you are telling the truth or not. That means I have no choice but to hold you captive until I'm certain you aren't a threat."

"I can't allow that."

Hearing my words, everyone in the room drew their weapons, but I wasn't fazed. I was sort of used to having weapons pointed at me by now.

"Well, why not?"

"Because I am on a mission to save the world."

"How am I supposed to believe you?"

She half closed her eyes in a seductive way, only letting a sliver peer out as her small smile widened ever so slightly. I feel like I'm being assaulted in her mind right now.

"If you can't prove yourself, I might just keep you here."

She spoke each word individually and pronounced each and every syllable loud and clearly. This is more terrifying than a monster.

I thought quietly to myself for any sort of escape that wouldn't involve making an enemy out of myself before finally settling on one idea.

"Do you know anything about the curse the demons placed on themselves a thousand years ago?"

The alluring and seductive look on Elizabeth's face vanished as soon as I finished my sentence.

"Guards, leave me."

"But your high-"

"I said leave."

"Of course."

Everyone then left the room, leaving only me and Elizabeth alone together. I started feeling extremely uncomfortable, but I made sure not to show it.

"What do you know about the ancient curse?"
