Late at night part 2

Scarlet was working at late at night and was about to complete her task when she heard footsteps she tried to shrug it off as she is exhausted and was imagining the things.

When Scarlet heard the footsteps again "who's there" she asked and received no answer when she heard it again she went after them and go to the corridor and asked "Mr. Brandin is that you". But no response.

Mr. Brandin is the guard who came to check after everyone has left the office. There was no Brandin at the corridors and Scarlet was now scared. 'Was someone following her' she thought.

When she was about to turn she collided with something hard and screamed while she was about to fall back due to sudden impact a strong arm hold her waist "what are you doing late at night in office" asked the person.

When Scarlet was recovered from her shock she see the owner of the arm at looked at the beautiful eyes and handsome face of Melan "there was someone here" she said while looking at the direction of footsteps that she heard.

"no one is here except you and me" he replied "and you did not answer my question" he asked with tired voice.

"I was working on the reports" she replied "then I heard the footsteps in the corridor" she said still confident that she has heard them.

"You must be tired nothing else" he said "at this time all other employs had already gone to their homes and no one is here you must heard me coming here"

She is sure that the footsteps were coming from the other direction from where Melan has came but she did not argued as he will thing that she is not in her right mind due to over work.

"Come I will drop you to your place" Melan said "and at this time you will not get any better drive to your home"

"Okay" came short replied from the Scarlet because she new arguing on going home by herself will not be on her favor. She new at this time of night she won't be able to grab a taxi to home it is her good luck that Melan is offering her the drive.

During the drive Scarlet mind was still thinking about the incident due to shock and was thinking 'if the guard was at the parking lot then who was there' when they were exiting the office building she saw guard at the parking lot.

"Are you alright" Melan asked as he saw her constantly dazed off. "Are you still thinking about that" he asked as he knew she is still traped in that incident.

"Ahh Yes I am fine" she replied "and thank you for the drive" she said.

"No need I also live here near your apartment building two block ahead" he said and received look from Scarlet probably thinking as he is lying because why he will live here when he has his own big house which is like a place.

She did not know he has his own problems and issue so he decided to live here.
