MEETING THE DEVIL (I)

When Vera got home, she saw Emma cleaning the sitting room. She called her to her room. Emma became really nervous because she knew her aunt only meant trouble anytime she called her

When Emma entered, Vera was putting on a dress. She waited for Vera to finish before talking.

"Aunt you called me"

"yes. sit down"

Emma sat on the cushion a little far from the bed while Vera sat on the bed looking at her. Emma knew Vera never liked her but yet Emma still liked her aunt.

Vera cleared her throat and talked, "Well you are going to meet the guy you probably would be staying with..... I mean the guy who might eventually marry you"

Emma looked at her aunt i n shock and surprise. Vera knew she would get that reaction from her.

"He isn't one of the guys you like or those your suitors. He is the owner of the Gold group company"

Emma didn't know him but she knew her aunt was one of those buying things from that company. She had heard the outer sales girls and some other girls who buy things from them, they usually talk about him. She knew that with the way they were talking they probably liked the guy. She had never seen him, but with news flying around her, people said he was very handsome but he had this aura around him which made him look like the devil himself. People said he never smiled and that he was filthy rich and really really handsome.

"oh" was all Emma said.

"Yes. and its tomorrow you are meeting him" Vera said adding more salt to Emma's injury.

"I'll call my make up artist and my hair dresser and I'll look for a beautiful clothe for you. There are some new set of jewelries I just bought and I know it'll seem nice on you. So you can go and continue your work." Vera said, taking her phone to show the end of the discussion.

As Emma walked down the stairs, she kept thinking on what her aunt said and she kept imagining. How can she live with a guy who would probably not know her whereabouts or about her feelings or not even smiling at her?

If someone ever told her that despite the feelings of hatred her aunt showed towards her, she would never believe the person telling her that her aunt would get rid of her. She continued her work with tears in her eyes.
