"How many times will I tell you guys? My injuries weren't that severe!" I kept on telling Mom and Ben that, so they won't ask me to explain why I have beastly type-magic and how I learnt how to heal my injuries with it.
After my soul form returned to my body I immediately woke up. I still couldn't move my limbs and my body felt like it had bags of sand on it.
I decided to test the beastly type-magic I stole from the evolved bear. At the time in the library I read about some of its uses in healing one's self.
I tried to focus and with 9th Sense I could get a grip of my mana-connectors. I felt the core tethering my body to magic in the middle of my heart send tiny amounts of mana through the mana-connectors, so I just tried to intensify the output. My left hand was no longer paralysed, so I calmly dropped it on my chest, specifically on the location of my heart. It didn't mean much, but it gave me more concentration.
Successfully, I doubled the speed of the circulation of mana around my body, but it wasn't fast enough for it to be able to come out from the surface of my body and reinforce my skin.
I pointed two fingers out and used the tip to touch my heart to redirect the outflow of mana directly back to my heart and I started feeling the structure of my mana core and how everything within it felt. It was… a magical feeling. I kept on with it until I got to the middle of the core. What I felt wasn't human… it was dread. I couldn't see it's colour, but I definitely know it is black. The evil that that tiny orb harboured couldn't be fathomed, and I started getting sucked into it. Reflexively I quickly stopped and noticed I successfully made the mana manifest outside my body.
'Ttri-ting'
[You have comprehended beastly type-magic to some extent]
[Intelligence +5]
[MP +50]
Nice. I didn't even know 'Intelligence' can award an extra MP. I guess I'll be reading more books about magic then, and probably try new stuff too.
[The Ominousity's percentage of comprehension : 0.0000000000000001%]
What was that? I tried to recall the reason why this notification likely showed up but… I couldn't remember. I definitely knew that I was forgetting something, but I don't know what or how to get to it. Something was off.
I regained my wits and quickly got the hang of beastly type-magic, then used the two fingers to touch the injured parts of my body to focus the output there; and since it is beastly type-magic instead of reinforcing my body cells, it created a new one since there was none to reinforce from the start. It can be used to even create body organs back. Haha, I'm just kidding.
"I know how to use beastly magic, and I figured out how to heal my injuries with it." I finally decided to tell them, so mom won't feel I'm keeping secrets from her.
"It is better this way. I'm happy you can heal yourself."
After that, Mom instructed me and Ben to eat the food she and Elise prepared, then she went off to bed saying she was tired from all the crying.
Zeus and Hades had also been fairly injured, but none were life-threatening, and I also found out they have fast recovery from their bloodline and probably because they're evolved beasts since they also looked unscathed now.
I'm surprised about their battle prowess; although they need to be trained on coordination and how to use their magic types in a more effective manner in battle.
Ben and I sat down at the dinning to have our dinner and I decided to look at his stats. He wore a worried and sad expression on his face.

His stats baffled me every time. I wondered how he will be when he learnt a few skills.
If he is just half a dragon, how will actual dragons be? And I remember Ben saying Dad owned a dragon.
"What is it?" I had to ask because his current expression isn't to my liking.
"It's nothing." He replied, but his expression doesn't match his words.
"I won't ask again." I told him the plain truth, not to force him to talk but to tell him if it's nothing there is no use in me asking.
"H-How could you easily figure out what I spent the whole day trying to learn?" He looked fairly angry that I just 'figured' it out.
"You're learning magic?" I couldn't help but ask. What is the need to study magic when you are made of it?
"Yes. I even have a mentor now." He wanted to speak with pride but the fact that I figured out mine on my own likely crumbled that fact.
"Firstly, I didn't figure it out; and secondly, I only did it out of pure frustration of being weak and not useful on that bed." I could only give him confidence by demeaning myself, and plus, he knows beastly type-magic is one of the weakest magic types.
"..."
"Lets get some rest, Ben. Magic training starts tomorrow."
We finished our dinner and headed straight to bed after taking our baths.
***
I woke up late, likely due to the rebound after I drained my mana capacity on recovering.
Ben didn't even wake me up and left the house already to go train.
I got ready and just as I was about to leave Elise came in. Well, of course she was surprised I was healed; so I explained everything to her and told her we were going to meet Ben, so we could start learning how to use magic.
The journey to the forest was a quiet one, although I tried to bring up conversations, but she just answered any question I asked and didn't ask back. Elise had a worried expression on her face and her usual cute and cheerful self couldn't be seen.
I used that chance to look and evaluate her stats.

Her other stats weren't abnormal like Ben's, but her MP was the highest, which means her mana capacity was the largest. Mana capacity is like a borehole that the diameter varies from individual to individual, while MP is the amount of water that can be stored in it; the MP is just like the height of a borehole increasing.
I switched course and walked in the main merchant street. I wanted to elevate her mood because I felt she thought she is weak or something due to what happened the other day.
"Danny, is this the way to the forest?" She asked but without her cute and cheerful smile.
Since when did she called me that?
"I'm following a shortcut." I lied apparently, so she wouldn't convince me to turn back.
We walked by some merchants that were selling different types of potions and Elise became intrigued. She looked at some with interest but didn't buy any; until a short man with a brown hair and a slightly muscular build wearing a green cloak with the hood down came to us.
"I can see yer a bunch a fine young lads. Do ya care for a mana potion that increases yer mana capacity?"
"How much is it?!" Elise had a serious look on her face like she just found some kind of ancient treasure.
I decided to look at the stats of the potion.
[Name : Potion of Increased Mana Capacity (fake) (Orange Juice)]
[Type : Potion]
[Value : 10 bronze]
[Weight : 240g]
[Description : This potion is a fake, it is just filled with orange juice.]
[Effects : (none)]
What the hell? He's trying to scam us.
"This potion malady, is 50 silver coins."
The man spoke with no remorse in his voice. 100 bronze coins is equivalent to 1 silver coin, 100 silver coins is equivalent to 1 gold coin, and 100 gold coins is equivalent to 1 emerald. 10 gold coins could feed an extended family for generations; but that is only if they only used the coins for feeding.
"I don't have that much money with me here, so I'll tell you my house address." Elise was so eager to get that mana capacity increasing potion.
"No malady, I come from beyond yonder and I don't wish to stay here any longer." The crafty merchant was trying to put his foot down, although he was scamming us.
"Please! I actually have that amount, but it isn't here right now!" Elise acted so desperate, it pissed me off to see the merchant act like that.
Elise and the merchant went back and forth with the negotiation and the merchant didn't look like he wanted to give up, while Elise was slowly getting pushed to tears. I couldn't watch them any longer.
I used Blink to appear behind the merchant and dragged the potion from his hand. I opened it and like he already knew what I wanted to do, Zeus opened his mouth and I slowly poured the potion into it.
"Hey! Kid! What are you doing?!" The man looked furious but I had already seen his stats, as he tried to touch me I released some of my magic from my core and spread my aura then shot him a glare.
'Hieck'
"I-I am s-so sorry." The man figured I already saw through him and knew his agenda, so it was logical for him to beg for his life.
"Out from my sight." I spoke in a cold manner that even made Elise scared.
The short man started running like he was being chased by an evolved beast and even tripped a couple of times.
"..." Elise didn't say anything, I knew she wanted to reprimand me, but she didn't.
"It was just orange juice." I let out a laugh then looked at her and noticed she laughed calmly with her left hand on her mouth but as she noticed my gaze she stopped.
"How did you find out?"
"I just saw its contents when he opened it once."
We continued walking through the street then we met a merchant that sold spell books for various magic types.
Elise looked at them and averted her gaze. I felt the reason was because she didn't know her magic-type yet.
I bought all the spell books about water type-magic and also bought a bag I could keep them in.
I met a merchant that sold swords and bought one with a sword belt; I didn't want to use Excalibur in front of many people and because it looked too flashy.
The walk continued and sincerely, it didn't go as planned.
"I'm sorry for your loss." She finally spoke, but she didn't look happy at all.
"..." I didn't reply, and I also didn't want her to find out.
"Ben told me."
Damn it, Ben!
"I never knew what you were going through yet I--" She didn't continue her words as I heard frequent sobs.
"My father isn't dead."
She looked up to see my face, and I knew she noticed my confidence with the serious expression on my face.
"Mmmm"
She wiped her tears, and we made our way to where Ben is. This time around she looked like her normal self and that meant she wasn't down because she thought of herself was weak. Then why was she so eager to get that potion? I wondered.
We got to where Ben was training and I saw that conclusive and crazy librarian teaching Ben.
"Oh what do we have here?" The old woman already sensed my presence and made her cheeky remark.
"Miss Vivian!" Elise called the old woman's name joyfully and ran to her.
"Ben. Is this your so-called mentor?" He didn't tell me that the annoying librarian is who he was bragging about.
"Y-Yes."
"Oh geez!"
"She's also a wizard, and she teaches magic very well!" Ben spoke up to clear my doubt about the old woman but I, for one, know that Ben doesn't think much about a person's ulterior motives.
"You kids should shut the hell up and get in line!" Vivian shouted at the tip of her tone.
"I don't tolerate slacking off. Disrespect and disobedience earns you a spanking."
"Am I clear?"
"Yes Miss Vivian!!" Ben and Elise answered and looked so serious like the whole scenario didn't look stupid.
"I didn't hear you Danton!"
"This is just dumb." I folded my hands and looked away.
The next thing I knew, a hand slapped my face, and although I didn't move, I couldn't hear anything for like 2 minutes due to the sound that rang in my ear and my cheeks were smoking red-hot.
"Get in line!"
"Yes ma'am." I didn't have the courage to act arrogant any longer.
And just like that, two months of intense training passed.
