"...ton!"

I slowly regain consciousness as hear voices around me.

"Danton!"

As I heard my name, I slowly open my eyes to see who was calling me.

"Danton! What happened to you?" It was Ben I first could see, and he is the one that asked; he sounded so worried.

Did he hear about Veronica's death? No, that is impossible.

"And why would you ask that?" I weakly ask back with my eyes partly open.

"Look around you." Ben answers.

I open my eyes fully and noticed the surrounding people. They are Ben, Bruce and that yellow-haired kid I saw at the training ground when the evaluation was taking place.

I think his name was... Ricky.

My eyes feel heavy, and I turned to look at my side.

'Squish!'

I felt something weird touch my cheek. I raise my hand to investigate. I just touched it and realized it's my pillow.

It is soaking wet, like a bucket of water was poured on it.

"You were crying and sweating seriously at the same time." Ben stares at me and had looks of worry and sadness.

"Oh, that. Sorry, I just had a bad dream." I lied apparently, and I think Ben bought it because he bit his lower lip and had a pained expression on his face.

He probably thinks it is what happened that night when my father died.

"I'm fine now." I said, with a meek smile across my face.

"So we're all roommates?" I ask.

"Yes. I don't know much, but I think it is Grandmaster Windstrum that made it this way." Ben replies, making me wonder what that old wizard's agenda is.

Since I already know Ben and Bruce I turned to look at my fellow yellow-haired roommate.

I stared at him for a while before he realized why I stared at him.

"Oh! I am Riley Azel, a fire-type magic-user who likes cute girls, does what is right and hates peppers. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.!" He sounds so hyped and boy did he say so much information I didn't need to know.

"I'm Danton Stonehead, a beastly type-magic user and in the scribe mage-class." We shake hands with each other.

I would have said unnecessary information to match his so it'll be funny or something but right now I am not in the happiest state of mind.

"Dinner is about to start, so change to your hostel wear," Ben points at a cloth wrapped in a transparent bag, then continues, "We'll move on ahead, so we can save a seat for you." He and the other two started walking to the door of the room.

I noticed they wore the same type of clothes. A white long-sleeve shirt with no buttons and blue trouser.

'Thud!'

I felt weak all of a sudden and fell back on the bed.

Ben and the others turned back to look at me.

"Danny are you sure you're ok?" Ben asks worriedly and slowly walks back to me.

I felt hot and started sweating profusely. My chest and right eye felt unbearably painful like they were being crushed repeatedly.

'Ahhhhhh!'

I let out an alarming scream due to the pain I am constantly feeling, causing Ben and the others to run towards me.

I close my eyes for a minute then opened them slowly.

The pains left and felt like they were never there in the first place.

"Danny, what's wrong?" Ben asks, frightened.

I sit back up straight on the bed and looked at Ben who is directly in front of me.

This is weird.

They left the room, so I will try to analyze and parse the system update.

I can see the stats of everything I look at for more than two seconds.

Is this what is meant by system overdrive?

I looked up, and I can see a floating tab like how it is for reading people's stats but this time a lot bigger.

The tab is divided into two, the first part has a smaller width and shows:

While the second tab that is right beside it shows:

The detachment of Omega Eye? Maybe that's why the information I can see about people now is limited.

In the top right corner, I could see something that looks like a coin, and it had '0' beside it.

I start looking for a way to close the menu tab and saw 'X' beside the coin. I just look at the X with keen interest and the menu tab vanished.

In my eyesight there are two slim red and blue bars following my gaze, making it look like it is on my eye.

Behind the red bar, it shows 'HP' and behind the blue, it shows 'MP'.

I was slightly fascinated and depressed at the same time because that man with the blurred face said he'll make everything harder for me and the new look of the system is disturbing since I can't turn it off or control it myself.

'Grrrrrr.' I heard my stomach grumble, making me put my hand on it.

This is different from Garmi's quest since I can't decide whether I want to do it or not. Likely because it is the system that gave it this time.

I decided to inspect the changes further when I have gotten something to eat.

I walked to the package on the reading table and removed the clothes inside.

I wore the hostel uniform, and it looked the same as the ones the other guys wore.

And of course, the system showed me the stats of the uniform even though I didn't want it to.

I left the room and headed towards the dining hall, using the sound of the most noise coming from a building.

I entered the dining hall, and boy is it large. It had numerous round tables that will be hard to even notice someone you know sitting among them.

The left side of the dining hall has a long counter where the food is placed and the female attendants behind them dish the food out.

I just collected some bread with milk and other stuff I don't know the name of.

I walked around looking for Ben and the rest and found them nearly ten minutes after and it's only because I used 9th Sense to sense Ben's unique mana reading, if not it would have taken a lot longer. Finding Ben's mana reading was hard because of the number of students in the dinning.

I got to their table, and I can see Arleore and Elise sitting amongst them.

"Nice, Danton, You're here." Ben calls out.

This dude is acting like a different person altogether. I sit down and listen to them chat.

I ate the food slowly and looked at everyone from time to time, seeing their stats.

I have finally decided it is time to tell them.

"You guys…Um...I am the Intermediate White Candidate for the Chess King. And I would like to assign you your roles since you're a part of my team."
