I didn't expected it this way. I thought I'd be dead the moment we entered the room of trial. That gush of wind really got us off guard, and what's worse, is when Granger got controlled by that witch. It made me scared, almost as if I can't move anymore. I was too shocked to see him in that state.
"Congratulations on passing the trial, you may now wait at the lobby for the others to finish." The guard earlier said and led us back to the main lobby. There, we saw the young boy earlier, who lost his sister. When he saw us, he quickly ran towards us and kneeled.
"Thank goodness, your both ok!" He said while sobbing. I smiled sadly at his reaction, but patted his shoulder to assure him.
"We did it... We brought justice to your sister." I said and he cried more as he thank us both for what i've said.
After that, we sat back down at our chair earlier and waited for the others to finish. It didn't took that long to be precise. They all went out complete, but the last two was dead when they came out. Meaning to say, that there are other powerful things inside of the trial.
"Ehem! All of you, listen here!" The guard who assisted us said, making us all look at him with curious gazes. "This will be your last trial. But instead of being partnered up, you will be in group. All of you will enter the last trial. Whoever comes out alive, passes." He explained, making us all surprised. "By the way, it's not just you who will be in group, because the last trial will also have a group to defeat." He said and led us back to the trial rooms. But instead of the rooms we entered earlier, we were led into a much deeper part of the path and it got darker by the minute. "Tell me if you're ready." He said and everyone of us let out a loud sigh while looking forward, right at the door where we are about to enter.
"I'm ready." Said the young boy earlier, but in his reaction, shown fear.
"Same here." I said even if I am shaking a bit. After that, everyone else nodded, making the guard nod back and opened the door.
"Goodluck everyone." He said before closing the door. Leaving us all with nothing but ourselves and some things that we brought with us.
"Guys, please... Let us help each other, ok?" One of us said, and when I looked at her, she is already sweating in fear. "Promise me we'll protect each other." She continued, and although, feeling tensed, I walked towards her and smiled reassuringly.
"Everything will be alright, I just can't promise but... We will make sure to get out of this disgusting place." I said, but before even touching her, the girl earlier at the lobby, spoke.
"What cowards HAHAHA! Why ask help if you're just gonna die anyway?" She asked sarcastically and look at me with confidence. "The strong always wins against the weak, so why not let the strong ones beat you up if you know that you're weak?" She continued, making everyone silent.
"Even a limp can do great things, idiot. They're just being held back by the people around them, so don't you ever speak something so harsh on the weak ones, because even the weakest man can outnumber the strong ones in some ways. That's why strategizing is needed." Granger spoke up, stood up beside me with his usual cold expression. The girl then hissed at this and looked away.
"What ever you say, I can even bet my own head for a dead body after this." She said and looked around.
"We'll see about that." He said and pointed his gun on her, making me worry a bit and held his hand. I looked at him with a sad expression, telling him to stop his action which he gave up.
"(sigh!) Let's just think of a way to get out of here. First, we finish all our enemies with teamfights. Second, please don't stay far from everyone, for us to strategize more when we start fighting them. Sounds great right?" I said and everyone of them agreed, well except for that girl. She just shrugged her shoulder and rolled her eyes, so I could now tell that she doesn't like me.
Anyway, over all, we are fifteen children here. Out of fifty who tried earlier, we are the only ones left. And this fact just made me mad at this trial. What's the point anyway? I mean, they're just killing innocent childrens. Why not just send them to school to study? But then I remembered... The Empire of Dawn always ends up fighting between the Empire of Dusk, so there's no time for everyone to study or teach the children. And they just send them to this kind of dangerous trials to train them accordingly.
"I really hope this madness ends sooner. I don't want to see other people die again." I said and felt goosebumps all over my body as I remembered my past. I just closed my eyes to try and forget but the more I try, the more it enters my mind. Just then, I felt a hand embrace me, making me look who it was.
Granger, standing in front of me and looking straight to my eyes, spoke...
"Don't you worry anymore, because I promise that we will get out of here, altogether." He said and looked at everyone. "Ready yourselves." He commanded, making us stand straight. We all held numerous fighting gears, but mine was the weirdest one.
"Ugh... May I ask why you're holding a stick?" A boy asked me, making me blush a bit, not because of him, but because of this stick. It made me embarrassed for them looking at me like this.
"T-T-This is not an o-ordinary s-stick! I-I-I use this t-to f-fight... HEHEHE." I answered, and he just nodded, making me hide the stick.
"Whatever, it's useless for this trial anymore anyways." The girl earlier said, making me crunched my brows.
This girl is starting to get on my nerves, to be honest.
But after thinking that one out, we heard some loud cackle out of nowhere, and it's really scary, knowing that the trial already started. Another thing to be scared of is that loud laugh. It sounded like satan about to led our souls to hell.
Everyone panicked at this, except for us three... I mean, me, Granger and the mean girl.
