The Escape

Lailus body had become a sack of fur, dangling from a tube of hard muscle. Those comfy folds of extra skin were probably the only thing that kept her from crushing Yahajis ribs as she squeezed tight and ever tighter.

The lack of oxygen was already making her head spin. Her body began to numb, except for the sensation of pins and needles in her dangling feet. She had misjudged.

She had forgotten Lailus size and strength in comparison to her own, and she had over estimated what she thought was a bond between the two of them.

Why had she thought shed be safe with her, when even the armed guards refused to enter?

Why had she worked so hard to sneak in here?

What had she thought she would accomplish?

They locked her away for a good reason. But Yahaji, refused to believe it, she refused to let go of the image of the sweet, docile creature, firm, a little rude, but never angry or malevolent. It didn't seem right. And now, because of her poor judgement, she was going to die. Hot tears began to pool at her chin. All else faded besides the pain in her chest. Sound became muffled, then disappeared all together.

Relief came all to suddenly as her body smacked the concrete floor hard. She curled to hug her aching ribs and gasped for air.

"I only did what I had to do because you were late!"

hissed Lailu, her rage splitting her voice into two.

Still wheezing, Yahaji struggled to choked out her response, "You splintered....a woman's spine... and ate your fucking baby... because I missed your delivery!?!"

"Don't confuse my motives for human pettiness!"

"Then what is it!?" Yahaji yelled, rising to her feet, forgetting her own fragility.

Lailu was alarmingly quick, and before she understood how, she was face to face with sixteen red eyes, the flabby rope encircled her. Fear returned to her as she remembered the pain of being crushed by Lailus furry body.

"Hold your arms out," said Lailu, " I intend to hold you to your word."

Yahaji obeyed without thinking, and the alien began to wretch.

Ribbons of sputum rained down on her. The creatures mouth became wide and gaping, large enough to swallow her head, lined with hundreds of teeth. Just as Yahaji began to think she would be eaten, a slimy afro popped up in the back of the monsters throat. Then a head and two chubby arms. An infant lifted their fat face (with much difficulty) to peer at her with cherry red eyes and furrowed brows.

Lailu continued to wretch.

So this was the plan...

Yahaji reached into Lailus massive mouth. She was about half way in before she could reach the baby. She tugged on the child firmly.

An awful gurggling noise eminated from her throat, and the jaws immediately clentched tightly around her waste. Yahaji hissed in pain as dull teeth bore into her stomach.

The mouth widened again, even more than before. She had to be more careful this time. Smoothly, slowly, gently, she freed the infant from Lailus esophagus, and emerged from the batchmothers mouth drenched in saliva and mucous.

No words needed to be spoken. She understood the plan.

"They're going to execute you, Lailu," Yahaji muttered.

"You know I knew that. Don't waste anymore time,"

"But I need to know why!"

"We don't have the time," Lailu repeated, pushing Yahaji with her tail taking special care not to touch her with her stinger, "Please think back to our earlier conversations and visit the others often."

The momentum of the push sent Yahaji back peddling towards the door. She slipped she sticky child under her gooey sweater, took one last look at the uinly, curling her body for a powerful pounce, and ran.

As soon as she turned the corner, she heard the "unbreakable" glass shatter. Sirens went off as she ran.

Don't look back she chanted as a mighty roar ripped through the building, answered by a symphony of agonized yelps and gunshots. Slimy, with a large lump under her sweater, she managed to slip out of the building unnoticed.

Not once did the baby cry.
