Consequence

The doors had been completely pulled off the hinges, laid onto the ground as if ripped of by something. Talia hid behind Bo's shoulders again, blood and the bodies of men and women in lab coats littered across the room. The man spoke again, unfazed by the sight.

"This place was an experimentation room. There might be some living scientists still around, so be careful."

As Bo walked through the broken doors, to the right of the entrance, a jumper stood standing atop a few scientists' bodies. It chirped rather than clicking, looking down upon their corpses, but Bo spoke, catching its attention in an instant.

"Hello."

The Jumper appeared directly in front of Bo, and he was forced to look up to make eye contact with it. It didn't make any more movements, but it continued to chirp, as it's pale, white eyes stared deeply into his being.

"It's a female. It seems like they'd been trying to experiment on her."

The man seconded Bo's statement.

"Seems like it had no trouble freeing itself."

Bo made a strange clicking sound that echoed through the room, and the Jumper chirped in return, grabbing onto Bo and transporting everyone to another unknown location. As they tried understanding their surroundings, a familiar voice yelled toward them, happy to see them.

"Bo!"

Tip's puppet sat strapped to a chair, and three men stood behind him, the guns in their hands pointed toward Tip's puppet. One of them pushed the gun against the puppet's head.

"If you guys move a muscle, we'll blow this guys brains across the room!"

Bo's eyes locked onto the three of them, assessing the situation.

'They're unaware that that's just a puppet, but where's Nifla?'

"Nifla is deeper in this maze of a facility. We've got troub-"

One of the men bashed Tip's puppet in the head with the butt of his rifle, and its eyes began rolling wildly, its eyelids remaining partially open.

"Shut up! You've talked nonstop ever since master brought you to us!"

Bo continued to search for ways to save the puppet. If they aren't able to save it, they'd be at the mercy of time itself; Tip might not arrive for a while.

'They're unaware that that's the body of one of their men.'

The man in the middle's veins began to visibly pulse. His eyes became cross-like and his mouth struggled to open in response to his reactions. Bo and the hostage braced for the awakening of his abilities.

"Consequence: Death. Condition: Movement."

The air around them pulsed, and even the Jumper knew not to move after he'd said those words. Everyone stood still while the three men laughed uncontrollably, and after they'd calmed down, they raised their weapons toward them.

"Say goodnight, idiots."

Their laughter continued, but as soon as they were about to pull the trigger, Tip's puppet began violently throwing itself around in the chair.

[Friendly Bo Is In Life Threatening Danger. Civilian in crossfire. Warbeast detected. Enemy operative in close proximity to Friendly. Initiating elimination of Threat.]

The man's eyes began to multiply across his body and directed themselves toward everyone in and around the room. Bo spoke loud and urgently.

"Change identification. Enemy to friendly. Civilian is protected by Operative #35. Warbeast is docile and contained."

[Command Acquired]

The eyes that were pointed at Bo and the others closed and faded into his skin while the others remained active. They shot three beams of light instantaneously, penetrating through their skulls and killing them instantly. The blasts left burn marks on the ceiling.

Tip's puppet slumped over in his chair, but the host seemed to be asleep. Everyone sat silently, shocked by what had happened, but the hostage spoke, sweat dripping down his face.

"If you hadn't stopped that, we would've been dead meat, huh, bud?"

Bo's hostage stood still, pale in the face as Bo responded.

"Yes. Everyone except for myself and Talia would've died instantly. Now, get up. We aren't done with this mission yet."

He pointed toward the chair, Tip's puppet lying unconscious on it.

"What about that guy?"

"That's just a puppet, and it seems like he just ran out of the energy for controlling it."

"H-He was able to do that without even being here?"

"Yes."
