Love

That evening Kara came to the castle rooms, instead of turning down the South corridor which would lead her to the room which the royal family had granted her.

She was standing in the dark corridor seldom lit by bright and faint candlelight, the wax of which was already melting.

She was standing in front of the large walnut door holding that paper note in her hands.

She had changed for him, for Henry, but partly also for herself, because she could hardly bear her figure in the mirror.

The ambassador had changed, she was determined, she had grown tired of her image so shy and awkward in front of the prince, that in anger she had done something she would never have imagined doing.

Kara had tied her own hair at the top behind her head, letting the rest of her other long hair run down to her breasts.

She had colored her hair, although something must have gone wrong with that process.

The dye was made from flour mixed with pulverized plants, but what she didn't know was that the dye didn't go directly on her skin.

So now the girl had caused her hair to take on a blue colour similar to green, leaving only her base the natural brown.

Kara looked at the small and perfumed love letter that she held in her hands, looked at the white ceiling above her illuminated by a few lights, she inspired and let the air flow out of the soft lips.

She was afraid of being rejected.

On the other hand Henry was a prince, belonging to the royal family, while she was nothing more than an ambassador, a councillor of the crown of France but nothing more.

She left two heavy knocks on the door which echoed in the dark corridor.

She closed her eyes, she was afraid of meeting him, especially in such conditions.

However she could not shave all her hair, she could not expect to wear a wig until her original hair grew to such an extent that she could cut off the colour from them.

Henry slowly opened the door finding the figure of the woman in front of him.

He watched her, still in a night dress and with her long, normally brown hair flowing over her shoulders, taking on a faint shade of blue-green, almost matching her clear eyes.

He was trampled on for a few minutes almost surprised, he too did not expect to find her in those conditions.

-Good evening Kara, did you want to see me?- asked the man slowly, almost whispering.

The ambassador blushed drastically on her pale face.

She wasn't expecting such an immediate response, she had not the courage to say something without stammering, so she lowered her gaze, turned it away and instead of a thousand words she wanted to say she handed the man the delicate letter folded in four.

Henry looked at it, he almost perceived its known smell, that love letter was the one the young woman had hidden from him a few days earlier.

-This is for you...- she admitted looking away from him -I didn't have the courage to give it to you before-.

The prince slowly took the letter out of the young woman's hands, opened it, read the gently written words in French.

He smiled as he read those words so sweet, tender verses, which truly expressed how much Kara actually cared about him.

-I would like...- Kara began to speak further blushing on her face -I would like to know, if you also have feelings towards me-.

Henry was silent for a moment, he didn't know what to answer or what to say.

But the prince didn't say anything not because he found that act reckless but because in those days he too had begun to feel a certain attachment toward that rebel young woman, a sense of lack when he was not with her.

He did not speak, he smiled and that smile counted much more than a thousand words, he slowly and gently took a lock of Kara's coloured hair and caressed it with his fingers.

-Have you done all this for me? To have my attention?- asked the man passing from the young woman's greenish hair to her blue eyes.

Kara smiled, covered her lips with her little fingers and squeezed lightly, she thought at that moment, somehow funny and from the moment the prince had read the letter no longer a trace of embarrassment seemed to appear on her face.

-Yes, well, let's say I regretted it soon enough...- she commented crossing her arms around her body -I have to admit I miss the dear natural brown colour of my hair-.

Henry smiled, pulled his fingers out of the ambassador's hair, he was sure there was another way to solve this strange problem.

-You shouldn't have done this for me- the prince admitted removing his tall body from one side of the door letting the young woman enter his room.

He made her sit on a padded and purple chestnut wood chair, that chair was in front of a large mirror, where brushes, combs and various perfumes for his body were.

Kara's gaze passed enchantedly from one to the other of those objects, they were beautiful, precious, she almost had never seen such things in her life.

The man took his brush, on the other hand, that had to be only colour easy enough to remove from hair.

He slowly and patiently took her hair strand after strand and began to brush it and pass the precious comb of short and thick horsehair through her hair.

Soon the coloured flours slid, in clouds, on the floor of the room soon bringing back to her hair the natural brown colour.

As soon as this was over she Kara looked at herself in the mirror, she left the chair, stood up, placed her body in front of the man next to her, she watched him in his magnificent grey eyes.

-You haven't answered my question yet...- she protested quite annoyed by the prince's shy and mysterious attitude -should I take this answer as a no?-.

But at those words, and seeing how adorable her face was, the man brought her close to him, leaving a sweet and passionate kiss on her soft lips.

It lasted a few seconds, maybe even about thirty, before the two were again able to look each other in the eyes. Kara looked at Henry's eyes, they were big, definitely in love, she understood it from the pupil incredibly dilated.

It was said that the pupils of lovers would widen as they look at their beloved and this certainly led Kara to believe that he too loved her.

-Take this answer as you want- concluded Henry kissing her again passionately and not realising how quickly their bodies shortly after were both on the white and soft mattress.

They paid attention to not make too much noise, on the other hand their love remained a secret since they did not know if his family would agree that a prince would fall in love with a simple ambassador.

The conclusion of that night was soon understood by both as the next thing they both saw waking up was the warm and strong sunlight.

They remembered everything from the night before except finally falling asleep.

They woke up naked in the morning hugging each other.

They opened their eyes, one after the other, to realise that the day had now come.

Kara was afraid of how late it might be, she tried more silently and cautiously to reach the window of the prince's room, which overlooked on the great and magnificent clock tower.

The ambassador's clear eyes read the time of eight o'clock on the golden hands, they couldn't have slept so much, not without realising it.

-This is a disaster!- admitted the young woman trying as quickly as possible to slip her underwear onto her body that she had left on the cold and marble floor that night.

At the same time Henry watched Kara's haste.

-What is wrong?- asked him still slightly sleepy from the night -how are you in such a hurry?-.

-In just half an hour the interview with the foreign minister will take place, and I still have to retrieve works and folders from the archives...- she admitted, quickly buttoning the white buttons of her precious dress behind her back.

-Don't you tell me anything about this night?- Henry asked intrusive, wanting to be flattered for the first time by that young woman about something.

Kara smiled, she was thinking of something to say, not exactly wanting to compliment the man one hundred percent.

-As I already told you, that night many months ago, I had better experiences, but I never imagined a prince could be so good in bed- the young woman continued to smile as those pungent and bitter words came out of her fleshy and soft lips -anyway...- she ventured after a little approaching her own harmonious face right up to that of the prince.

-It is not that maybe now that we have already slept together you will forget me and replace me with another, right?- Kara asked looking into the eyes of her beloved.

She could still notice his dilated pupils, it seemed to her almost clear that man, by now would have loved her until the end of their days.

Henry caressed her long brown hair with one of his hands, looked into her big blue eyes and smiled.

-Don't even say that- the man admitted reassuring his beloved -I would not change you with anyone else in the world, Karassandra, now your heart belongs to me as my soul belongs to you...--

Henry gently grasped her small chin between two of his fingers until their lips retouched, again.
