Reconciliation

That morning had been a morning of farewells, but also of forgiveness.

On that day in fact two brothers met again.

The dark sky after the departure of the Baron and little Rudolph seemed to be illuminated, almost becoming clear and empty from the many clouds.

Dickon was alone in the room, now that Juniper was gone no one would protect him from his brother.

He was afraid, he was lying on the bed as the shivers slowly ran down his back and his pale freckled face.

He looked at the clear ceiling, he was afraid.

Dickon Dustin knew his brother would come back, only he didn't know how or when.

His twin was crazy, so much so that he could no longer control his emotions and the worst aspect was that the two were physically identical.

So if something happened, it wouldn't take too long until he too paid the consequences of his actions.

He wondered what could have happened, when they were little, they were still children, as well as twins they were also best friends, what the one felt also felt the other and so on.

What happened? Why had William changed so much?

Two forts struck broke the dramatic silence.

Dickon got up quickly, he put his back against the woody back of his bed.

He looked at the door with his brown eyes, he watched it intensely, he was afraid.

His light red hair was slightly moved by the wind which entered the room through the window.

-Who is there?- he asked anxiously.

He was afraid, scared, that day and the precedents had characterised for the young lord a situation of constant tension and paranoia.

His brother had tried to end his life, that mattered enough.

On the other hand, he no longer had anyone to protect him from any aggression so he was afraid he would only have to fight or die.

The door opened and William entered into the cold of the room.

He knew he would come back to him but he didn't know so soon.

He was unarmed though.

William was not that smart, not of the intelligence that the Dustins commonly possessed.

What was he doing there? Did he not know that since what happened that room was no longer his?

But instead of fighting back, William suddenly opened, almost spread his arms wide so that he could welcome his brother again.

Dickon saw his eyes, they were full of tears, it seemed almost as if he were crying.

-I'm really sorry for what happened...- he started talking, lowering his gaze in embarrassment -I was really an asshole to you...-.

His brother was struck by his foul language, which was usually strongly forbidden by etiquette to use among nobles, but he did not want to interrupt him so he decided to listen to him.

-On the other hand, if you have the strength and the courage to forgive me, I would be grateful- William suddenly looked up to let his freckled and reddened face glimpse.

His brown, large eyes were filled with transparent tears, which had begun to fall on his cheeks.

-I can't be without you anymore, Dickon! We are brothers, we are twins!-.

At those words it didn't take more than a few seconds until the brother, still from the bed, took the push and quickly jumped on his brother's body.

It literally jump on him with such joy and happiness that it overwhelmed him and repeatedly made him roll on the marble floor along with his body.

Eventually William found himself crushed by his brother's body.

He observed the eyes of the other, they were humid too, full of tears, he was not the only one touched in that situation.

Dickon soon wiped the tears out of his eyes with the back of his hands, he wasn't sad, he was smiling, that must have been a good sign.

-William...- he admitted hugging his brother, with all the strength he had -I forgive you-.
