Seeding Distrust - Takagi's Estate II

While Soichiro was unconscious, Ryo didn't waste even a second of time to put his plan in motion. Soichiro was the kind of man that kept his power through the constant mention of his political influence, promises of money and standing and himself being probably the strongest person in their Estate. Now that Ryo was here, he could begin exploiting the existing cracks in his system.

Walking around the place, he found a group of people arguing amongst themselves. Some seemed to be against Soichiro, while others were in his favor. This was exactly what Ryo had been searching for.

"As I said, there is no reason for lying! Outside is a shitshow!" yelled someone who was in Soichiro's favor. The people he was yelling too had a desperate look in their eyes. Ryo was sure they were denying reality. "That's just a lie! They want to keep us locked here so that they can control us!"

Ryo couldn't help but smirk at their words. Both were completely right. The outside world was a shitshow and they kept them locked in the Estate so that they were under control. He approached them slowly, making sure that his steps were strong and loud.

"You're both right" he said calmly. Even if his voice wasn't particularly strong, everyone heard him clearly. "If you need to know, outside of this place the world IS a shitshow... but you're also trapped here to be kept under control"

Both groups recognized Ryo as the kid that had humilliated Soichiro. His supporters didn't want any trouble with him, since he had clearly showed both a mental and physical superiority. He wasn't a kid in their eyes. The crazy conspiracy theory group also recognized him, and were inclined to believe the words of someone who showed no respect for Soichiro.

"Hm? Sorry, is your surname Yamada?" Ryo asked as he looked at the woman that was arguing the hardest against Soichiro's supporters. He was somehow sure that she was Shingo's mother because... well, they looked just as weak. Funny as it was, she was denying reality because, much like her son, she was indeed weak-minded. Though Shingo had improved a lot in the last few days.

"Y-Yes... how do y-you know that?" the lady asked while trembling. She had the worst thoughts in mind. Perhaps Ryo had seen her son die or worse. After all, they assited the same Academy. Luckily for her, Ryo only brought good news. "Oh, Shingo is safe and sound. He should be outside currently"

When Ryo said those words, Shingo's mother fell on her knees and behan crying. She thanked him, time and again, for bringing her son safely back to her. Ryo never had that intention in mind, but still accepted her gratitude. After all, denying someone who was thanking you from the core of their being was extremely disrespectful.

"As for you..." Ryo said as he looked at Soichiro's supporters. Their eyes had mellowed from their initial anger when they saw the woman crying because her son was safe. They were Soichiro's underlings and they didn't have to worry about such things because their families were the first to be brought to the Estate. "What did Soichiro promise? Power? Political influence?"

They doubted for a second but, seeing how Ryo wasn't actually a bad person, they just nodded. In their eyes, there was nothing wrong with wishing for more power. Ryo also thought that there was nothing wrong with it, as long as the power was earned by oneself, not gifted by others and acquired to stand above the rest.

"*sigh*... so much for being a fucking adult..." Ryo said helplessly as he took a cigarette and lit it. Taking a puff from it, he blew it out and looked at Soichiro's men seriosuly. "You probably think that this situation will be solved in a few weeks at most and you'll be heroes or something like that, right?"

"Well, let me break it up to you" he said as he took another puff. "That ain't happening"

Soichiro's men began denying him, saying that a kid would know nothing about how the adult world works and shit like that. Ryo couldn't help but get a bit mad hearing more adult bullshit, so he hit the wall with the side of his fist. Startled by his actions, they shut up, a bit apprehensive of what Ryo was capable of doing.

"Open your fucking eyes" he said with clear disappointment in them. He just couldn't believe that such stupid people existed in the world. He'd much rather wake up a hundred people like Shingo's mother than deal with idiots who saw reality and still couldn't adapt to it. "Where is the military? The police? Where is the government you so much say will solve this worldwide crisis?"

"You're just saying you accept the situation but you still don't want to see it for what it is. You are way worse than them" Ryo said while pointing towards Shingo's mother and her group. "They at least don't accept the situation entirely and don't pretend like they do"

Leaving both groups to think of his words, Ryo walked away, finishing his cigarette and throwing it out through a window.

Half an hour after being knocked out by Ryo, Soichiro woke up. The first thing he thought was how his image would be affected. Both by being beaten up and by losing control in such a stupid way. He had been tense the last few days because the power he held was balancing on a slackline. One wrong movement was all it took for everything he had worked his entire life to build would crumble. If he didn't fix his mistake quickly, he could be doomed.

What Soichiro didn't know, was that Ryo's words were spreading through the people in his Estate. Slowly, people were beginning to doubt the words of the man that had promised them money and power. After all, what use was there for money when you couldn't buy anything with it, and what use had power when there was no government to abuse!

As he finally got outside of the house, he saw the entire place working like it always had. In fact, even the people who were making trouble before were working together with his men. Soichiro was extremely happy, thinking that they finally accepted reality and were now willing to cooperate and work under him. The poor man didn't know how far from reality he was. He went towards the people moving a few things towards their mansion, only to realize they weren't even greeting him. A little taken aback, he still he decided to keep a strong front.

"So you finally decided to work for me?" he asked the group of people lead by Shingo's mother. She had already met her son and talked to him. When she heard how Ryo leadand protected them, and how he had allowed Yamada to help in what he could, being kind enough to keep him away from fighting. She hated Soichiro more than ever, knowing everything he said was nothing but lies.

"We don't work for you, Soichiro-san" she said defiantly, looking at him with contempt. "We work for ourselves. To ensure our safety"

Soichiro took those words as nothing but air. He was too focused on his power finaly growing. He wasn't an idiot, by no means. But after the humilliation he had suffered, his mind wasn't in the right place. Not like it ever was. In his mind, the woman was just trying to deny something she had already accepted, just like before.

"Well, that works just fine" he said while nodding, none the wiser. He only managed to anger his own people even more than Ryo's words already had. They had now opened their eyes and they had realized that, as much as Soichiro was a good leader, he was also a bastard lying piece of shit. At least that is what Ryo would've said.

As this happened, a danger bigger than the zombies was approaching.

Ryo was once again walking through the mansion, not having a particular direction. He happened to pass by a door barely opened and heard three voices from within. They were Miku, Saeko and Hiratsuka. Ryo, curious about what the three women were talking about, spied through the gap.

"I know you two like Ryo" Miku said. Ryo couldn't clearly see them, but by the looks of it the girls had just taken a bath. The one to answer was Hiratsuka. "So what? The three of us already know we like him. And lately Shizuka has been touchy with him too"

"I get that, but what I'm asking is... are we just going to be passive and wait till he makes a move?" Miku asked, with clear urgency in her tone. She was the most aggressive when it came to Ryo, after all. Saeko talked after that. "I... I don't deserve the love of any man. Much less the love of someone like Ryo. I'm substracting myself from this conversation"

Ryo quickly kept walking, acting as if he hadn't heard anything. He already knew what they talked about, but had forgotten about Saeko's issues because she never showed them. He promised to have a talk with her once he was done with Soichiro.

'But three girls... and Shizuka too, so it's four' he thought as he realized that four beautiful women felt attracted to him. Ryo knew how wrong his thoughts were, but he couldn't help but want all four of them. He, just like them, came from a normal world were polygamy was frowned upon. He himself frowned upon it. But being in the situation he was, he understood why men pursued polygamy. How could he say no to any of them, when he was also attracted to them?

Ryo had no idea that the girls thoughts were very close to his own.
