Following Long Chen's success, his father was delighted to hear this news. He brought his son to the main hall again to formally explain their special bloodline.

"As you know, to pass the test you must be confronted with yourself."

"Yes." Long Chen recalls the 'him' from his past life.

"Once you completed the trial, our bloodline will awaken. Now, I did mention beforehand that we have a more unique and flexible bloodline than others. It varies depending on the person. It only thing they have in common is that they are all without a doubt related to crystals."

"Crystals?"

"The symbol of purity, faith and perfection. Ironically, people aren't meant to be perfect. The perfect you is your true self after all. Your mother also went through with the trial when she was your age."

"Mother did?"

"She succeded in it as well and awakened as an [Ice Crystal Lord], allowing her control over ice elements whenever she activates it."

"I see."

His father then made Long Chen activate the bloodline in front of him. The man's eyes widen at the sight.

"That's! [Infinite Crystal Emperor]!! It's that bloodline!!"

"[Infinite Crystal Emperor]?"

"It's our clan's original bloodline. The ones we have now are variations from that original bloodline!!"

The man couldn't help but be more proud of his son. He made the decision to have both him and his wife become Long Chen's instructors and teach him how to control his new found power.

For the past several weeks, Long Chen had to spar with his merciless parents to train his control of his crystals. Whenever he gets some free time, he would spend it with his younger brother. Naturally, he didn't neglect to improve his cultivation. The only reason he was able to endure the spars is because he had been comparing the training to teacher Zhou's training.

The level of training was not that different but the difference is that teacher Zhou will give you a harder task as punishment if you don't complete them. This served as good motivation for Long Chen as he doesn't even want to know what sort of face Teacher Zhou would make if he doesn't get an extremely high score on the advancement test.

Long Chen's parents were thorough with their coaching. Seeing that their son had such huge potential for further growth, it is impossible for them to leave this possible gold mine alone.

Once the vacation was over, Long Chen left the estate to return to Shrek. He bid farewell to his family and travelled back.

On the day of the test, all the first years gathred at the Spirit Beast facility for the exam. Ma Xiao Tao, Dai Yaoheng and Ming Long Chen were among those first years. It is very easy to spot them as the other first years would clear a path whenever they seem these three.

"Look it's them."

"This is my first time seeing them up close."

"He's so handsome!"

"I can't wait to see them fight."

"From a scale of 1 to 10, how confident would you rate your confidence in this exam." Ma Xiao Tao asks.

"I'd give myself a 10." Dai Yaoheng says confidently.

"I'm about 8."

"8? And here I thought you would rate yourself higher." - Ma Xiao Tao

"It's no good to be too confident." - Long Chen

"The student who ranked number one during the tournament is now saying that he's not confident! I should be scared." - Ma Xiao Tao

"Hey, why don't we compete amongst ourselves then?" Dai Yaoheng suggests.

"Sounds good. A revenge match!"

"Focus on the exam more, you two."

After all the students were in the arena, the exam can finally start.

"Attention to all students, please decide on the order in which your class would go in. Once you're ready, proceed to the center." an instructor announces.

"Dai Yaoheng, you go first!" Teacher Zhou states.

"Eh? Why me!? Shouldn't it be save the best for last?"

"Quit squabbling and get on with it!" She practically left no room for him to talk back and threw him out. "If you get less than 140, it's running laps for you!"

"Pfft"

Long Chen and Ma Xiao Tao were having a hard time holding back their laughter. Ma Xiao Tao gave up on that and straight up laughed to her heart's content. "HAHAHAHA"

"Don't you laugh! You're up next!" Teacher Zhou turns her head to the girl and points at her.

"Hah?" She froze.

"You're after her, Long Chen!"

'Why am I dragged in?' Long Chen said in his head.

Dai Yaoheng had chosen to fight against a 1000 year old spirit beast. He transformed into his white tiger self and completely ripped it apart. He received a score of 140.

Similarly, Ma Xiao Tao selected a 1000 year old spirit beast as her opponent and turned it into roast meat with her flames. Her final score is 145 which is higher than Dai Yaoheng.

Finally, there's Ming Long Chen, the third person to pick another 1000 year old beast. A lot of students paid attention to one of the Champions of the tournament. His opponent is a thousand year old Jade White Pyhton.

The python saw Long Chen and instantly charged at him with murderous intent.

"Don't even bother trying." Long Chen mutters.

The python is subdued easily. During his spars with his parents, he discovered a better method of utilising his abilities. By inserting more spirit power, he can tighten and enhance the power of the bindings. Doing so, the python got crushed under the bindings and eventually died.

This shocked everyone. Long Chen had not even taken one step away from where he originally stood. Director Du couldn't find any criticismto say. This student had handled his opponent swiftly and quickly without wasting any more power than necessary. Thus, he could give full marks.

"Is it just me or did Long Chen upgraded by ten folds or something?"

"Looks like we got some work to do."

"You got more work though since you came out last out of the three of us."

"Oi!"

Long Chen exhale as he relax the tension in his body, the technoque he used was still slightly incomplete. He could feel that there are still restrictions and it's very unstable. If he's not careful in how much power he puts in, the chains might break more easily rather than strengthen.

"Hey! Long chen!" Yaoheng tackles him from behind with his arm around Long Chen's neck. "Tell me what happened during your vacation, right now!"

"Don't push or else we'll fall!" Long Chen warns but it was too late as Ma Xiao Tao jumped onto both of them, shifting the weight and knocking them all out of balance. They all fell down together.
