Chapter 17

After the tounrmanent ended, Long Chen returned back to the inner sanctuary to resume his training.

Today, he and the other members of the Shrek Seven Devils were all gathered in one place.

"Long time no see, Long Chen~ You're always in that room training and cultivating non-stop." GongYang Mo says. "But how is it that you maintain such amazing skin and hair?"

"Hello, GongYang Mo. It has been awhile." Long Chen replies politely. "I don't really have an answer for your question."

"No kidding, I wonder how many hearts he has captivated with this face of his." Yaoheng approaches his friend from behind and puts his hand on the other's shoulder.

"Yaoheng, as soon as you arrived, you talk nonsense."

"You're the only one who would think it's nonsense, Long Chen." Ma Xiao Tao overheard the talk and joins in. "I still remember how many girls participated in the Sea God's fate event believing that you were also taking part in it. They had to arrange an battle to decide on who is participating."

"Yeah, I can still recall the dissapointed looks on their faces when you didn't appear." Yaoheng adds on.

"You two get along as well as always." Long Chen sighs.

Chen Zai Feng remains silent standing in the corner. He's not really the type to socialize.

Ling Luo Chen is also nearby but she tends to stay away from Ma Xiao Tao. 'Che, that bad lady is there sticking to Brother Long Chen again. I can't even get close! How annnoying!! Can't even admire a handsome face properly! I would've gone for him if it weren't for the piles of confession rejection he has piled up behind him.'

Xi xi is also munching on one of her cookies by the side.

Once all seven of us are present, Xuan Lao came in no later.

"Good, all of you are here. Let's go."

The man brought all of us to the spirit arena announcing that we'll be doing a warm-up 3 vs 4 battle first before moving onto the next activity. The teams were split with a lottery to ensure fairness.

In the first team, there's Ling Luo Chen, Long Chen and Chen Zai Feng.

In the opposing team, there's Ma Xiao Tao, Dai Yaoheng, Xi xi and GongYang Mo.

"Battle----START"

"Junior Ling, I'll leave the overall control of the field to you."

The blue-haired girl nods and quietly pulls out her ice field but on the inside, 'Yay!! I'm on the same team as Brother Long Chen!! That bad lady isn't here either!! Best day!!'

"Zai Feng, you will be with me. Let's go." Long Chen is the runs in front followed by the other male.

All of them charged at each other. The battle was chaotic.

"Take out Long Chen first!" Ma Xiao Tao yells out.

"....." Xi xi follows behind her.

Ling Luo Chen blocked both of them off with her ice field to avoid too many people ganging up on Long Chen. 'You want to escape? Stop dreaming! Let's see what your flames can do in my ice field!!'

Both her and Xi xi were at a disadvantaged in Luo Chen's domain.

On the other side, Long Chen was casually dodging a majority of their attacks away by side-stepping and uses his restriction ability to support Chen Zai Feng in a counter-attack. Meanwhile GongYang Mo doesn't even stand a chance against Long Chen, especially when Long Chen has enhanced himself physically.

Slipping past Chen Zai Feng Dai Yaoheng gets close to attack Long Chen. However Long Chen binds Yaoheng down and uses a thousand year old spirit ring skill.

[Bound 3rd spirit ring : Light of Deprevation]

One straight beam of light shot out from his mirror heading towards Yaoheng. Unable to avoid it, Yaoheng could only take it head on. The male uses his skill to heighten his defense with arms in front to block the attack. Although he was pushed back a few meters, he came out in one piece.

'Figure that wasn't strong enough to completely take him out.' Long Chen frowns a little, 'Well, it doesn't matter. The fight is almost over.'

As the fight continues, all four members of the opposing team were tricked into being placed in one spot, Long Chen activates his strongest long range attack.

[Boundary Mirror 6th spirit ring : Arcane Array ]

Long Chen's mirror splits into 3 slightly smaller mirrors and multiple missiles-like attacks made of light blasts out from all 3 of them.

"Shoot, we've been had!"

"Dodge!!"

"We're too close! We can't dodge it!"

The attack hit all four of them, causing an explosion.

It all ended there with Ma Xiao Tao's team losing.

"Going up against, Long Chen is too hard!!" Ma Xiao Tao complains.

"It's so difficult to get him even with a 4 vs 3." Yaoheng sighs. "Speaking of which, what rank are you on right now?"

"Now? Um....I think I'm close to reaching peak Spirit Emperor."

"Peak?!" this new information shocks everyone present.

"Hahaha! This is surprising. A soon-to-be Spirit Saint at your age, truly a monster. You'll need a new spirit ring soon." Xuan Lao laughs. "Have you thought of what type of spirit ring you want yet?"

"I'll think about it when I get there. I still have time for now."

"Alright, but tell me when you're gonna get one. I'll help you."

"I will. Thank you for the consideration, Xuan Lao."

"Now then, next will be having free-for-all battle." The man announces.

"Hah?!!!" Most of the Shrek Seven Devils exclaims.

"The last on standing is the winner while the rest must call themselves Losers."

"Xuan Lao isn't this unfair! It's obvious that Long Chen will be the winner." Ma Xiao Tao complains.

'Aren't you also close to me in terms of spirit rank?' Long Chen looks at her questioningly.

"Then why don't you all gang up on him and the fight each other?" Xuan lao suggests

'What?.....'

In that instant, the atmosphere became darker. The six other members turn their heads to him, showing a red ominous and murderous glint.

'This will be a rough day.....'
