A Favor (1)

A FAVOR (1)

After 3 days of traveling, Stalane and Syton finally arrived at the next nearest town to Aflavior town which is the Iteria town. They were 2 days early than the day they should've arrived at the town. With their speed and nonstop traveling, they arrived faster than a normal 5H rank braver or adventurer would be able to do.

"So? Should we head to the armory shop first?" Syton asked in confirmation.

Stalane nods as she recalled what Kaleigh advised them to do.

"You should go. I'm going to buy my own food first" Syton said as his eyes twinkled when he looked at the food stalls.

Syton noticed how Stalane looked like a child when she stared at him as if asking if he's gonna buy one for her too. Syton can't help but to see a cute but cold little kitty image from Stalane.

"Do you have Gou?" Syton teased and that is when Stalane started to frown.

"Let's find something to eat first before heading to the armory shop. I don't know what you want to order so just come with me first" Syton laughed as he surrendered.

Stalane followed Syton to a food stall and watched how Syton paid their own food. "Give me some Gou" Stalane said before she bites her sandwich.

Syton tried to hold his laughter before he asked, "Are you trying to rob me now?"

"Should I?" Stalane said as if she took it as a challenge. Syton helplessly shook his head and just ignored her.

After taking their fill, they head towards the armory shop. Syton looked around to look for a good weapon for himself while Stalane walked towards the shopkeeper.

"Welcome to the shop, what kind of weapon are you looking for?" the old man asked.

"A weapon that will last for at least a month and is suitable for a weapon class that is a 5H rank braver" Stalane said.

The old man was shocked at first then stared at her intensely after a second. "How much Gou do you have to offer?" the old man asked.

Stalane looked to where Syton is before she pointed at him, "That man will pay"

"Do you perhaps have no Gou at the moment?" the old man hit right at the mark which made Stalane to blush in embarrassment.

The old man laughed out loud when he noticed this. He then waved his hands, "No, no. Don't worry, I was just asking to know if you would be interested to take my little favor in exchange for a free weapon. Of course, the weapon I'm going to hand over would not be a great quality but it would be enough to defend you and earn some Gou during commissions for a braver that would last for a year. If it was properly taken care of and been upgraded, of course this might be a good weapon for you"

Syton heard about this and got his attention. He walked closer to where the shopkeeper were and asked, "That's sounds nice. What's the favor?"

The old man gave a meaningful smile which didn't escaped from Stalane's eyes, while Syton was oblivious from this.

"Well you see my grandchild asked for a permission to me yesterday to play with his friend but he never came back home. When we asked about his friends about my grandchild's whereabouts they said they didn't know. I'm worried about him, so could you give lend this old one a hand and look for him?" The old man said.

Syton was surprised as how this situation was somehow similar to a game. Is the guy an NPC? He immediately got rid of that idea since he had learned from Khan that there are no such thing as NPC but they are rather called as People of the Land.

"Do we both get a free weapon?" Stalane asked for confirmation.

The old man nods. "Of course. Both of you are in a party, right?"

"That's correct. Do we have a time limit by any chance?" Syton asked back.

"No. But its better if you could find him as soon as possible" Syton nods. He took what the old man said indirectly saying that they only have a day to find his grandchild or else they'll receive a lesser quality weapon.

"What's the name of your grandchild?" Syton asked another question.

"Kian"

After they left the armory shop, both of them went to a near potion shop. Syton went to look around while Stalane lean near the door. She occasionally look at the armory shop but she decided to close her eyes instead.

"So? Aren't you gonna share me with what you've learned?" Syton asked using telepathy.

Stalane showed her palm as if asking for something, "Give me Gou as payment"

Syton was left speechless but Stalane just shrugged, "You were the one who told me that information could be sold for Gou"

"Can't the food earlier be the payment instead?" Syton asked.

Stalane just realized that Syton did treat her some foods earlier. She nods then proceed to tell him what she learned when she used notitia earlier.

"He is a People of the Land since his name was colored orange. His name was Gerin but underneath his name was a title and it says 'Kidnapper Master'."

Syton was amazed by what he learned, "Wow. Notitia are really useful, huh? Good thing, I've party up with a weapon class like you. If I used notitia earlier, it'll use up a lot of mp from me"

Syton then went on holding his chin giving some thought about the information he heard. "If that's the case, it's better to look where Gerin might go next. It might be the location where the children were. But since he has a title 'kidnapper master' we should be wary about him since we don't know if all of this is a trap. Anyway, I'll keep a lookout and you go find other clues using your notitia around the area. It's better if you could find the child already. Contact me if you got any useful information"

Stalane also realized this earlier that the old man might really leading them into a trap. But, Stalane instinct told her to trust what Kaleigh told them to do. She was guessing that this favor from Gerin is already part of the subquest.

Stalane gave Syton a nod then went out of the shop. She looked around and whenever she approach a group of people she uses her notitia.
