The beauty of a rose tends to hide its periculous thorns. It manipulates vision and alters cognition in response, thus opting to keep its prey chained down to a false.
"-Idea of reality. It's a simple thing, naught but fake. But, who really decides what is real and what is fake? Is it truly, the one who is deemed to hold the strongest will? Satanael Leo Roseblood, the child who usurped the throne... In a world whose people refrained themselves from the mystic and doomed themselves and their children in an endless cycle to see who can burn out this planet the fastest, are you sure you aren't just running away? Fledding from truth, dragging your friends into meaningless death? Well, all those stained with humane trait are destined to die, eventually. They keep themselves busy with meaningless to prove their worth of being alive, but.. under whom's Will are they living? Well, Roseblood, are you going to succumb to the Will of others or.. will you persist?"
His voice was calm and dry and the body it emitted from was sitting on top a large bed, clothed in a dark velvet cloak. A small mansion in a wide forest, a room with scattered books all across the floor, however clean and tidy, nonetheless. Surrounded with papers inscribed with knowledge of the world, he seemed to amuse himself. A boy with dark hair covering his eyes and dimmed lighting in his room who, too, had servants on his side was smiling, anxiously anticipating the change in reality. Confidence sprung forth when placing his bet on Leo Roseblood. Did he really know of something others couldn't have yet thought of?
The hanging basket plants were pushed slighty by the wind's flow entering the room through the tilted windows.
The air moved faster, stronger, better, harder. So much in fact, a sound echoed through the court yard and it was like a bullet being fired to kill what was needed to be killed to find peace. "I brought you water." She turned around. Unsteady breathing, a body covered in sweat. Her grey top was drenched from punching that sandbag. Their eyes shortly met, alike a sting to your sight, her feet positioned again and her rotating torso guided her left fist to an immaculate jab that made the sandbag come loose and drop to the ground. Leigh let out a short scream. Her hands bore no gloves, but her knuckles blood. "Damn it", Ray whispered,"Your raw power is immense. You didn't use your Will, did you?", he handed her the water bottle of which she gulped down half before answering. "No. I didn't. This is all. My hate. For Leo.", she was trying to catch her breath and chuckled. It was afternoon, still, a warm temperature reigned over the day and provided a nice setting of colour as well. "Your hate for Leo-" "No. I really don't wanna. Talk about that.", she cut him off. Ray sighed:"I've known you for the longest time, Leigh-" "Ray. Please." "Just why do you want Leo dead so damn bad, anyway?" Her expression grew frustrated:"If it weren't for that Will-shit I could have easily beaten him up and be happy already.", she scoffed,"I could prolly take you on as well, Ray. You'd be-" "No. You're right. I am the weakest here. Hell, I can't even use my Will correctly and if it weren't for Leo, I'd be dead because of my selfishness.", he squatted and let his gaze wander toward the ground, the little greens poking out of the cement, being moved by breeze. A small pause in conversation, drilled with silentium."Hey... you already killed people, right?... Like actually ended lives of others.", Leigh began,"Do you think you'd be able to die because you chose to kill another person?"
"I will only die because I chose to protect those dear to me.", Ray spoke and looked into the golden eyes of Leigh. What she saw was insecurity turning into determination, there, right before her. Rushing blood. Anxiety. She didn't know how to respond so she let out a small chuckle. "I guess I'm the bad one, after all. I just hope.. those cigarettes kill me before I kill anyone else.", she went over to her bag to open the package and have a smoke. "So Leo was right about that, after all." "About what?", Leigh carefully pulled one out and didn't bother to figure out what Ray was talking about. "Let's just say.. those things won't end up killing you." "Did you come to piss me off?", Leigh chuckled. "Actually, Charles asked me to spar with you." "Back to obeying orders, I see.", she came near him. "Are you trying to piss me off, now too?", Ray took sips from the water bottle. "Maybe, just returning the gesture, is all", she winked and dropped the cigarette to throw a punch at Ray who dodged backwards, now back on his feet, standing. "Quick feet you have there, tall guy." The distance between those two closed as soon as Leigh's fists were covering her temples afore Ray who still had his hands in his pockets. He was gonna get hit, he knew that but somehow, although the one to make the offer to spar was him, he kind of lost his Will to fight at an instant. His sleepy eyes weren't ready yet. He had the urge to scream, to be awake but he felt so dreadful.
"Tsk. I don't even know what to do myself." Leigh stopped her jab before his chest. Anger. His eyes took his sight to her clenched fist. Trembling. Heat. "What would you have done..", Ray said carefully, Leigh moved her face upward to let their eyes meet,"If it was Leo here, instead of me?"
Leigh's eyes widenend. Impulse. Heartbeat. A drive in her had been awakened: She moved her left fist slowly backwards while her right palm opened, acting like a homing guidance. Her full concentration wasn't split anymore, purely focused to link her every instinct and thought to a hit that would land for certain. No Will, their height difference wasn't even a problem, her arm just launched forward, alike a fired bullet, toward Ray's chest who, himself, pulled back and counterd with and opened palm, contact, yet not expecting that Leigh would pull him in with her left hand still, closing the distance, turning, wanting Ray to touch her back to throw him over her shoulder, down to the ground but instead got her back kicked and let go of Ray's arm. She didn't falter, used her disadvantage to her advantage and 540-kicked Ray from her position. Impact lifted stones and dirt upward. Dusty clouds. Once off ground, Ray saw her first leg returning to the ground again whilst she was in a rotating motion, however the second leg trailed the first with a variation and came with a kick to his surprise. He only blocked the first kick, Leigh repeated the same, exact movement without a rest, this time faster which was effective for she hit Ray's block multiple times and which each kick further broke it. Arms pushing against his head every time they were kicked. It was then, when he finally realized he really wouldn't stand a chance against her if there was no Will. "Ah, well, whatever...", Leigh stopped. She complimented him, though, for blocking her first punch which packed her most strength.
"I feel dumb. Like-", Ray was cut off,"You are dumb. You know damn well, I would have torn your chest open if I used my Will.", Leigh stated. Ray laughed. "What? You don't believe me?" "It's just, I don't think I could fight you, like you want to fight Leo. I have no reason and if I have to fight, it'd be.. because I have to protect something, or someone from death." "So, you won't put up a fight because I'm someone you don't hate? I thought boys were all about duking it out." "Ugh, I don't know and I really don't care but to answer your question: I don't hate you." "Then, fight like you had to protect Leo from me, Ray." "Huh?" "Because one day, that day will come, I promise you that." "Leigh, stop." She grinned. Her palms were flung open as if they were shocked open. "Then try stopping me, Ray." She jabbed his palms and every time Ray chose to block he would recieve shocks of electricity. "Come on, Ray! Protect your Leo!" He grabbed her wrists and didn't let go of them. Mirroring his choice and he was getting shocked with increasing strength. But Ray didn't let go, he couldn't, he just wanted this to stop."Good! Now fight back!", she wanted to push him but he let go of her, the disconnecting seconds of slowed motion, and he, from his point of view, moved his touching thumbs and middle fingers over Leigh's eyes, snapped them with ache and sound turned into blazing explosions of fire in the shape of roses. The blossoms were kept within slowed time, having created the illusion of growing even bigger, covering more space. Her electrified leg kicked through the flames, like a sword through wind, putting them out and after the roses vanished, two more were coming for Leigh. She didn't notice them because the second Ray snapped his fingers, he held back one second of sound turned the others into flames, sending the second pair of roses right behind the first ones. Panic. Leigh caught them, by having her hands electrified, one negative, the other positive, bending them, then sending the wriggly flames heavenward as a mixture of lightning and fire. The next thing she knew, was seeing a wall of fire building up behind the enclosing metal fence of the court yard, prisoners of Hell climbing for revenge. Leigh jumped, her fist caught once again by Ray's left arm, this time in mid-air, whose air was set on fire which brimmed with a blinding blue colour. Tips so sharp they pieced Leigh's Will to electrify herself until she screamed out in a grotesque manner to force a rageous lightning come down. The scream of heavens pierced sound's barrier, silencing flame and fire. Leigh's blood was coughed up. Mid-air. Tremble. Ray was getting unsteady, seeing a whole lightning come crashing down from a clear sky, directed at him. "Rise. Rise. RISE!", thoughts so loud they were blocking out everything around him except for that lightning and so forth, Leigh's eyes widened in surprise when his left arm heated up to a deadly degree as it turned out those flames had not been silenced, but rather sucked into Ray's arm. His hair's tips black as burned wood, glimmering emerald-eyes and cracking air around him. His breath bled, his left arm bled, a blazing conflagration countered Leigh's Will and out come a fitful avain shape of flame. The Phoenix. Flames behind his back gave Leigh the image of him having actual wings. It raged on heavendward, a Will to protect. Thus resulting in lightning amplifying fire, concurring, the scenery rapidly flashing in black and white, it'd hurt your eyes to keep them open. The collision scattered all across the sky's paths in a tremulous movement. Dark clouds, it started raining. Her arm burned but Leigh touched ground again, scowl on her face, and jump-kicked him in the stomach but right before contact he stopped her transsonic kick by grabbing her by the ankle with a burning palm, having both less skins on these body parts now and dizzy vision. Air's increased speed results in a drop of temperature, meaning Ray blocked Leigh's kick by promptly increasing temperature again. The air around her leg was broken, leaking moisture resulting in clouds as both of them stared in to each others eyes.
A haste in breaths.
Sweat on his forehead, on her teeth the look of a beast, crying wounds leaking thin rivers.
"Ah. There it is. The look of willing to kill, right? Ray..", she asked whisperingly. "Leigh." "Shut the fuck up, Ray. Right now, you're looking at the same girl that killed her whole clan. And I swear to whoever's watching us from above and under, I have no value as a human anymore. I'm no plain girl, anymore, I can't become one, I'm not sure if I ever was-" "Killing Leo won't help you. You're comparing yourself to someone who's-" "Who's what, Ray, huh? That fucking devil can't comprehend me, can't understand what I've been through!" "Listen, we all have fucked pasts! Stop excluding yourself from everyone here. Your prejudice against Leo isn't making this better, either." "Fuck." "You're jealous." Leigh bit her lip. "You're jealous of his looks, right?" Her heart pounded like crazy, it felt like it was about to burst out of her chest. Her face felt hotter and hotter. "I mean!", her tooth pierced her bottom lip,"What kinda sick joke is this?! A guy prettier than a girl? I- I mean I get that he and I were tortured! So why can't I- Why can't I, why can't I, Ray?!", her throat felt heavy,"..be as beautiful as him? Feels like I'm losing my mind, every time I see him, this feeling of-" "Leigh. It's alright, it's okay.", finally leaving the battle's stance, they hugged. Her eyes became wet, stopped frowning. Having forgotten about the rain, they didn't notice their drenched clothes. "You feel better, now?", Ray asked and let go of her. "Yeah", she stopped sniveling,"Fuck, I'm sorry for that. But also.. thank you. Ah, I sound like an idiot now, my emotions are all over the place." "Oh well, it's all good. And don't worry, I won't tell anyone about this and your.. well.. the reason behind your hate for Leo.", he lightly punched her shoulder as reassurement. "Thanks, Ray. Hey, do you think he knew about this, either way? He did say something about knowing the future.. Maybe he knows things like this as well.." "Maybe, maybe not. Honestly, Leo is just on another level. He holds the most pressure, I can see it in his eyes and it hurts, seeing him like that.." "The King holding the strongest Will gets a completely different meaning, now, I guess.", both of them went under a tree to find Leo waiting for them.
He had his legs hugged tight to him. "Oh?", Ray made. Leigh kicked gently against Leo's shoes. "How long?", she asked. The rain was coming down."Long enough to make me feel sad.", muffled words from Leo. "Tsk. Look, you saw us, heard us, I'm trying to change but I can't if you make me feel guilty like that.", she said, her voice becoming louder. "Leigh.", Ray put his hand on her shoulder. "I'm the one feeling guilty, actually. I had a 'hunch', I think that's what they call it?, and turns out I was right. Better off offing myself for you, then?", Leo said and looked at her with dead eyes. "Don't say that, Leo. Please", Ray came down to Leo who was leaning against the big tree's trunk. Leigh kicked Leo's shoes so hard he flinched:"Listen, here. For fuck's sake. Last thing I want is you killing yourself for me. But you're making it harder for me too." "I don't think your hatred for me and my looks will fade anytime soon, either. You look calm right now, because you're exhausted but your eyes are fixed on me like I was your prey. And that makes me sad." "Fuck it, you're right. I would have loved to pierce your throat, the second I saw your fuckable face. You son of a who-" "Shut up! And there we go again, dammit. We were walking as a trio just this noon, what the hell happened? The three of us could make such good friends, too..", Ray voiced his pain. Leo's nose started becoming itchy, his eyes' sweet magenta was teary:"I'm sorry." Albeit raining, those words found their way in the right pairs of ears. "I apologize, for making you feel like that, Leigh. And Ray, I'm sorry. I don't want to see pained like that. You too, Leigh, sorry", he was given a leg-up by Ray and Leigh. "I'm sorry for everything I said, dammit.", Leigh started tearing up. "It's- It's okay, guys. We'll get our freedom. Leigh, we'll find your mother, promise." "It's just-", she scoffed,"This feels still way too new to me, I dunno how to act." "I think we're all the same in that regard, don't worry", Ray said. "Yea. I mean I'm used to hearing you cuss at me, not apologizing to me.", Leo poked out his tongue which contrasted his crying and everybody laughed in unity, under the umbrella of leaves, surrounded with rain's drop, a heartfelt moment conciliated dispute.
"Three teens that match the description, Mr. Atrox. Most likely to be the targets."
"Perfect, as always, Commander. You see, Mr. Cherrywine? Treason is the easiest way to win yourself freedom. Your efforts will not be in vain, I promise.", his sharp eyes went over to Daniel, wearing the World Military's uniform.
"Believe me, Mr. Atrox, when I say this.. Those teens are hungry for power. They are wilding like beasts."
"Kids that won't go to school- What do you expect? But Do not underestimate us, Mr. Cherrywine. What could three teenagers even hope to accomplish against a force which has its net spun out, around the world?"
"Everybody wants to rule the world, nowadays, Mr. Atrox", Daniel took a few sips from his coffee, "I still advise you to most beware of that boy-"
"Just a second, Commander, hand me your binoculars.", he holds them firmly, searching for the targets,"Ah. They're in my sight now. I can make out two girls and one boy with blonde hair?"
"Two girls? No, there has to be a brunette boy, correct?", Daniel continued sipping.
"Oh, dear Lord, that's supposed to be a boy?! For Lord's sake if one of my boys looked like that I'd shoot myself in the head.", he let out a small laugh.
"Well, regardless of his looks, he is the one-"
"That little one? I hope you're joking, Mr. Cherrywine.", Atrox' beard moved along when his mouth formed an unhappy expression.
"Trust me, Sir. He is the one that has been tortured as the Devil for all those years. The one they couldn't kill.", the other soldiers were gathering around them to listen to Daniel's words,"Ray Blackwood then, helped escape him whilst causing the killing of the religious group. They burned down the church of the most notorious religous group, to be exact. During the same night, Godsent Lucifer Leigh wiped out all other members of our Godsent-Fraction, making her and her mother, Katherine Godsent, the only ones left alive. Also, I heard that the Blackwoods are on the loose, somewhere, ready to gather whenever their leader decides so."
"Hmm. I understand, Mr. Cherrywine, I understand, so that girlish-looking boy is the most dangerous? Tell me about him."
"Mr. Atrox, he is Jack Roseblood's son-"
"Pardon?!"
"Satanael Leo Roseblood."
Atrox put down the binoculars. "Hell's Revenge. Roseblood's son was the Devil all along.", he had to laugh out loud because of past frustration, almost forgotten, even.
"Commander, please pass me the list.", Atrox reached for the list that was given to him.
"Here, the Hunting List:"

"Unbelievable, I feel ashamed to fear such a creature.", he spouted.
The WM's Special Frontline was not yet inside Londinium but near, so near in fact, they were able to make out the trio from atop a small mountain's knoll. A line full of soldiers, equipped and ready to engage in battle was told to rest well for the final night afore the operation. If no one was going to hunt their targets, they would have to do so themselves. The slightest mistake could give their enemy the advantage but Atrox, the leader of the WM, had nothing to fear, no. To him this was a simply another operation to take the leadership in which would get him a little amusement in his last years before retirement. Tents had already been put up, the plan was in motion, the wait had begun. The clock was ticking with every second, anticipation only grew stronger and his smile widened just as much.
"Truly, would you look at that. The untrained eye may be as good as a blind, but should you be able to feel it still, I assure you, time will be the guiding hand to your right. As for you, Leo Roseblood, I'm pleased to say that you're my favourite one out of these horses to place my bet on. However, I applaud you for changing reality, today, but.. will it all be for naught in the end? Will the King be able to free us from eternal misery ? Or should we lend a helping hand? I ask of you, put this to an end! Soon and later in the future, a change will awaken those falsely chained down in another world! Truly, we shan't be hasty, but await the moment of truth for when Satanael Leo Roseblood is going to cause eradication of this time and room. I assure, all you must do in order to get to this, real, reality is simply kill him, once he finishes breaking this one."
They all cheered him on, they cheered on and celebrated the boy in the dark velvet cloak. A room filled with gang members, lone hunters, mercenaries, ex-soldiers and the like.
Oh the dread of the living, passing time, nearing death, falling toward inevitable changes, right and left. Man was bequeathed with utter catastrophe, yet again.
As some may find it absurd
to try to flee into another world,
being kept betwixt a mess of realities,
we only seek freedom alike birds for eternity.
