Various kinds of beasts rushed into the area completely filling it up. Kevin looked at this scene with a wry smile of helplessness. Most of the beasts were around the seventh or eighth stage of human, which meant that even one of them would be enough to destroy Kevin.
Luckily, Okura and the chairmen were here to protect Kevin, or the situation would have been deadly.
"How annoying," Okura proclaimed as his eyes shone with bright light, instantly forcing every animal to stumble to the ground. However, some of the larger ones, such as the bear that rushed in first, managed to stay on their feet with a bit of struggle.
Okura wanted to reinforce the gravity once again, but a bizarre feeling of uneasiness, coming from the entrance forced him to stop.
Everyone in the room, including the deadly beasts, looked towards the entrance in fright. All of them felt an incredible danger coming here at full speed.
"What the hell is that?" the girl next to Clara dropped her weapon to the floor in terror. A strange monkey emerged from the darkness overlooking the group of people with a grin.
Despite its unharmful appearance, the chaotic aura emanating from it was that of a powerhouse.
"An urban level" Adam exhaled deeply as he glanced over at Kevin, "Is that him?"
Kevin simply nodded as he swallowed the accumulated saliva. This ape was the same one he had encountered in the Forest of Death. However, this time he seemed even more powerful than before.
"HAHAHA," Okura suddenly started laughing, attracting everyone's attention, "I never thought that an urban leveled beasts would be hiding in an underground. However, do you think that would be enough to defeat me?"
White aura completely covered Okura's body and spread throughout the area. The smile on the ape's expression instantly disappeared as he became serious.
The others also sensed Okura's incredible aura, giving them a slight morale boost as they charged towards their opponents, not even glancing at the ape anymore.
They believed in the general, a human who had spent his entire life on a battlefield would deal with an urban beast with ease.
Kevin didn't dare fight anyone in this room, so he moved towards the corner to not disturb the group with his uselessness. As hard as it is to admit, Kevin can't really fight on par with anyone here since he's only at the fourth level of human.
However, he will try to help them out with attacks from afar.
*Boom*
A loud tremor shook the entire area as Okura's expression turned serious. Monkey, on the other hand, formed a huge cone of light between his hands, which was getting smaller and smaller with each passing moment.
Despite its size, the mana accumulated within it was enough to destroy the entire area.
Kevin panicked when he saw that Okura didn't even seem to move from the spot.
However, just as the monkey was about to shoot out the mana ball, the gravity around him suddenly became heavy. The monkey's control over the mana was shaken as a loud bang followed.
Crimson light reached every corner of the compound, blinding Kevin's eyes.
Sensing great danger looming from all sides, he summoned the three servants around him and used them as a shield against the shockwave.
Soon, the light began to dissipate.
Kevin instantly opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was the burnt bodies of his servants.
Kevin thanked them in his head while canceling the incantation and the aftermath of the explosion began to show.
The whole area was covered in crimson fire.
Everyone was scattered around the room, sent away by the powerful shockwave, but luckily, no one seemed to be hurt that much as they looked towards the calmly standing Okura in the middle.
He deftly unsheathed the katana while stretching his other hand. Suddenly, his gaze sharpened on the ceiling.
He immediately swung the sword upwards sending a sharp white aura blade ahead.
The blade hit the ceiling leaving a deep imprint there. However, coupled with the crack, a slight gush of blood did not escape Kevin's notice.
'Invisibility?' Kevin thought, seeing how a monkey covered in crimson blood appeared near the mark.
Okura, sensing a chance to attack again, shot a sharp white blade towards the struggling ape. The strike was too fast for the beast to dodge, so he created the familiar ball of mana and ignited it ahead.
*Boom*
The area shook as the attack collided in mid-air. A tremendous shockwave sent the already dead beasts into the corners.
Kevin once again summoned his already healed servants to block the way.
Orange light flooded the unyielding darkness, forcing everyone to look up into the air where the enemies were fighting each other for supremacy.
No matter who it was, beasts or humans, everyone stared at this scene with awe of their power.
"What kind of battle is this?" Kevin mumbled, seeing how Okura's strike was slowly but steadily pushing the ball forward.
*Boom*
The land shook again as the attack suddenly exploded in the air. Dust covered the entire area, making it hard to understand what was happening.
Oliver activated his power and pushed the dust aside, making the battlefield visible again. However, no matter where the eyes fell, Okura was nowhere to be seen.
"Okura won," Kevin whispered to himself while looking into the air.
Okura was flying in the air with the katana in his hand, with crimson blood dripping from its edge. On the other side of the area, the former feral ape was stomped into the ground as more fractures appeared from the sides.
A deep cut and many minor burns were scattered all over the ape's body, showing the severity of Okura's advances.
Smiles rippled across everyone's faces as they stood up from the floor and walked over to the already dying ape, while Kevin still hadn't moved.
For some reason, despite having already won the fight, Kevin still felt discomfort in his heart.
"Huma-ans," the monkey exclaimed with difficulty.
Everyone had not expected the monkey to suddenly speak.
A few wrinkles appeared on Okura's face as he escalated the gravity a bit to let the monkey finish its last words.
'Beasts can talk?" thought Kevin in his head before continuing to listen to the monkey's eerie voice.
"Run...master...come...here".
At that sentence, the monkey's eyes rolled backward, indicating that it was dead. The group fell completely silent while Clara muttered something:
"Master? What did he mean?"
"It doesn't matter, no matter who comes here, we have the almighty general here with us," Glen countered with a proud look as if it was his own strength.
"Still, who can be a master of an urban beast?" Oliver said suddenly, causing the mood to turn somber again.
"A creature above the urban level," Okura said while he clutched the sword's hilt even more intensely.
Everyone's jaw dropped to the floor at such a statement. They've never heard of someone stronger than the urban stage, and such a creature is making its way to the group right now?
"Hey...where's Adam?" Kevin, who was already beside the group, called out after not seeing the always optimistic Adam anywhere.
"He is ri--" Clara pointed to the side. However, the previously standing Adam was already gone.
"Oh my god," the white robbed person cried out while placing the hands on the mouth. Everyone looked towards the way she was glancing, but the sight that met their eyes sent a shiver through their bodies.
An enormous bat was flying in the air with a creepy smile while biting the already bloody body of Adam.
"!!!" Clara screamed at the top of her lungs while sweat formed under Kevin's mask. Despite its enormous body, Kevin didn't even see or feel it coming close.
But most importantly it managed to take Adam's body in such a short time without even the general noticing.
"You f*cker," Oliver was the first to react as he angrily sent two continuous blades of wind towards the creature. However, just as the attack was about to land, a strange portal formed in front of the creature.
The attack was completely sucked into the portal, startling the group.
Suddenly, another portal formed right next to Oliver, from which flew the familiar Wind Blade.
Oliver wasn't fast enough to dodge, so he formed a transparent windshield, causing the two attacks to collide. The abruptness sent Oliver backward as he crashing into the wall of mud.
"So this monkey truly wasn't under full control" a dark creature emerged from the blackness, scaring the group even more. Okura was the most shocked as he growled, "What the hell is a demon doing here?"
"Demon?" Kevin took a step back while eyeing the slowly approaching creature. Its skin was completely dark and covered in some sort of strange scale armor. A long-tail emanated from its sacrum, moving up and down as if getting excited.
"I, one of the Demon King's commanders, the Demon of Purity, Valaar, shall bestow your end"
