"Hulu," Kevin spoke while tapping its back, signaling to stop moving.
An incredible amount of various beasts were furiously destroying everything in their path, leaving no witness alive as Kevin watched this scene from behind, hidden in a medium-sized peg in the ground.
Kevin didn't dare to make any sudden movements, otherwise if one of the beasts noticed him, he would simply be devoured by the monsters.
'So what am I supposed to do now? To reach the school, I have to go through this ordeal of beasts,' Kevin thought as he surveyed the surroundings once more, hoping that any changes would appear.
If the beasts were fewer in number, Kevin would use the same tactic he had used on the bear, but it wouldn't work this time.
And even though Kevin rested a bit, the mana capacity was still not enough to engage in a serious fight.
*ROAR*
Suddenly, a loud roar echoed through the surroundings, catching not only Kevin's attention but also that of the numerous beasts.
A huge dark bull with two protruding horns that were covered in golden paint charged towards the crowd while drumming.
Seeing the incoming bull, the scattered beasts' expressions turned solemn and their eyes gleamed red, while Kevin, who was on the other side, was already hiding in the dugout, trying not to make any sudden movements.
If looked closely, you could see a fearfulness in his eyes that was slightly blended with anger.
"It's one of those beasts," Kevin whispered as he recalled the ten beasts that had appeared behind the demon's back, which caused his breathing to intensify.
Kevin tried to minimize his presence as much as possible, even calling the servant back so that the beasts wouldn't notice him. After all, the ten beasts of Valaar all had immense strength that could rival that of the chairmen, which meant their detective skills shouldn't be low either.
*Boom*
Another loud bang reached Kevin's ears as his curiosity peaked. Casting a furtive glance out of the hole, he managed to catch the sight of the bull shooting a strange golden laser straight from its horns, destroying the vicinity all around. Even some of the beasts were not spared.
Sweat formed on Kevin's forehead as he promptly ducked back down once again regaining his stoic face. The power displayed by the bull was definitely something Kevin shouldn't mess with.
'I should wait it out and replenish my mana first,' Kevin closed his eyes slightly to get some peace from the hard day.
Although he wants to reunite with Sophia sooner, he can't just rush through this crowd of beasts and die for nothing.
Little did he know, what danger Sophia was in right now.

"Kill humans," the ape repeated its words as it once again formed the bright ball of light between its hands, sending it flying at full speed towards the retreating Sophia.
Though it flew fast, Sophia managed to dodge it by performing a backflip and jumping over the attack.
Her hair, on the other hand, was not so lucky.
The previously long black hair was cut in half, with a visible flame still burning at the edges.
Sophia, however, didn't seem to care too much about her current appearance.
All of her senses were focused on the greedily smiling monkey, who seemed to be downright enjoying the current situation.
"Since you won't let me run away, let's fight it out fairly," Sophia replied with a determined expression.
The monkey, as if offended by her words, surged an immense amount of mana into the hands as five different balls of light formed around him. However, this time, they grew larger than before until reaching the size of the monkey itself.
Sophia felt evil energy emanating from them as a shiver went through her body. If at least one of these orbs managed to hit her, she would end up dead at the best case. Even her god's power would not be able to heal injuries from such charges.
'What should I do?' Sophia cursed inwardly before taking a step back.
Even though she is physically strong, long-range attacks are her weakness. After all, her god's power is based on healing and supporting others.
She herself doesn't know even one offensive spell except for close combat.
'I need to somehow close the distance'
That was Sophia's last thought before the orbs were sent flying at her at full speed. She promptly turned around and started running while looking around intently.
Nervousness shimmered in her eyes as she ducked, causing one of the orbs to miss and hit the wall in front of her, creating a severe tremor that shook the entire floor.
Sophia was already in full panic when she saw the immense power of the orb.
She promptly stood up while bracing herself for another attack.
Seeing the balls of light already flying, Sophia let a frightening amount of mana flow onto her palm and struck down with all her might.
The solid cement beneath her was instantly shattered into many different pieces as Sophia began to throw them towards the orbs, trying to steer their direction somewhere else.
However, the mana orbs were more potent than expected. As soon as the pieces of the ground collided with the light, they somehow dissipated into thin air.
With more and more unsuccessful attempts, Sophia was already drenched in sweat.
She couldn't contain her fright anymore as she blasted backward, hoping to somehow escape this unyielding attack. However, her hope was instantly shattered when a monkey suddenly appeared, blocking her path to retreat.
Sophia's face turned pale. She didn't have enough strength to resist the power of those orbs, but rushing towards the monkey is an even worse idea.
Eventually, Sophia decided to stop her motion and greet the light orbs, hoping to stop the advance somehow. However, once again, the same thing followed.
It was just a useless struggle against a higher stage creature.
However, just as the orbs were about to reach Sophia's body and relieve her from the struggles, four golden swords fell from the sky, piercing the balls of light right through their center.
The light immediately dimmed, only leaving the swords slowly falling to the ground and creating slight turbulence.
Sophia's face brightened while monkey's, who had been enjoying himself until now, shimmered with an even more vivid redness as they both looked up to examine the intruder.
Atop a tall building that still managed to stay viable until now, a familiar person with neat, brown hair was overlooking the vicinity from above before jumping off the building.
Gaining more speed with each passing second the person managed to quickly reach the ground as a large cavity formed at the spot where he landed. Despite falling from such a tall building, his expression didn't even bulge for a second as it seemed to be as simple as taking a stroll around the school for him.
"Teacher? Why are you here? Didn't you need to evacuate my classmates?" Sophia rained a bunch of questions.
"You don't have to worry, they're already safe," the teacher replied, stretching for a moment before turning his gaze on the furious monkey, "I knew you'd get in trouble, come on, we need to stop this beast from spreading chaos in our beloved city."
"Yes," Sophia fired up as she got into a fighting stance. With such a strong teacher, the fight was going to shift towards their side.
'It seems that she didn't find Kevin in his apartment,' the teacher thought, predicting a cruel outcome for her boyfriend. After all, even if Kevin did manage to advance in his cultivation, it would be a miracle to stay alive with all the beasts that are dwelling throughout the city.
"Sophia, we need to be quick before more beasts come here" the swords that were lying on the ground earlier suddenly rose and circled around the teacher, fueling Sophia's morale even more.
"Yes, teacher" Sophia's hands glowed with a green light as she finished healing the wound on her chest.
"Huma-ans stupid cre-creature," the monkey's creepy voice reached the teacher's ears, changing his expression into that of perpetual fear.
'A beast that can talk...but it's only possible once you reach an urban stage' a sudden realization struck the teacher as he unconsciously took a few steps back, causing Sophia to become confused.
"Teacher, what are you doing?"
"Sophia, once you get a chance, immediately retreat, run as far as you can."
"But--"
"Sophia, promise me," the teacher interrupted her words as he swallowed the accumulated saliva.
"Huma-ans die," the monkey repeated again as a huge spear of light formed in the air, overwhelming the entire area with the mana indebted to it, "Die"
These were the last words that left the monkey's mouth before he sent the spear flying forward.
