After a meal together A'Xiu felt a lot better about showing him around. It was comforting and by the bit of gossip she picked up from her friend in We Chat, Master Mingyun was supposed to be here and the description matched the young man she was with.
She didn't believe her boss when he said it but everything pointed to it. Then she read the name on the back of his martial attire when they changed clothes for the meal.
"You are really Master Mingyun of the Ansatsuken." A small of trace of awe in her voice when speaking was noticeable.
"Correct." It was not truly held against her due to the fact it was not easily believable unless one's name was well known.
"You are so young though."
"Hahaha, you are aware of Internal Fighters and their strength and those old masters who still look young yet surprised by my appearance." It didn;t hurt to mess with her just a little to help feel out the type of person he was dealing with first hand.
"Well yeah.." A'Xiu twiddled her thumb at a loss for words. She wanted to get out of this village and go study in the city. Get a future she could rub in the faces of those who doubted her hard work. 'Even my family thought I wouldn't amount to much. The same as for my sisters.'
She had big dreams but since she was a girl and her grades were nothing to brag about, her family had decided to focus on her brothers' education. Her sisters all quit school and had to go work to survive and contribute to the home.
Rexford checked his phone. A few messages from his people who participated in the regular fights to test their skills.
Jiang Churan, Chang Wen, Ji Xingyun, the serving women besides Sini Dova, and the Wei 3rd generation members besides Wei Ziqing and Wei Lan, and a disguised Yu Wenjing won their fights.
Biao and Yang Chao did not fight. Waiting for the real fights down the road.
He was satisfied with the results. Especially since everyone besides the Wei 3rd Generation had the Ansatsuken School on their clothes. Which helped build the reputation more.
Putting his phone down on the table with the fight results served to help stir A'Xiu. She looked at the females who were not much older than her or the same age as her.
"Chen Fan!" A female's voice called out. Rexford didn't even look up as he was thinking about something. The female that called out had to be sure. She walked over with her group who were just as hungry as her after watching the fights. "I am sure that is him!"
This was Yang Li, the roommate of a cousin of Chen Fan. They met only a few times. She pulled up a picture that An Youya had shown to a few who asked about how he was doing in the city. The cousin, Chen Ning shared the picture bragging her cousin was doing big in the city.
Chen Ning worked at Wall Street after she graduated and became a successful Investor consultant. Becoming quite influential in that field. Not caring about the rest of the stuff that happens, Rexford made a note to get closer to her. Provide some funds for her to make some moves.
Careful not to ruin the chance that help mold her into a good consultant. She was finishing her fourth year so the wait would not be long.
Which was kind of true. The young woman forgot all about the name change though.
"I think she is talking to you." A'Xiu handed him the phone since it looked like he was getting ready to leave while he stretched. "Who is Chen Fan?"
"Someone who died awhile back. I go by the name Rexford. Mingyun Rexford." The young woman nodded in understanding. He was not the first person to change their name due to circumstances. "Let us go see the reaming fights."
"Hey!" Yang Li got in front of him. Not wanting to be ignored. The picture didn't do justice she thought. "Just wow.. you have gotten pretty tall.. and strong.. and hot!" Despite her lover not too far away, she couldn't help seeing him when up close. "Loving the eyes and hair. Better than the basic shit from before."
"You might have the wrong person miss." A'Xiu said. She felt territorial after looking at the other woman. She was cute but the other was developed. The stylish hat and expensive sunglasses made her feel a little bad.
She pulled out her phone looking up the message to make sure. Only slightly embarrassed so far. Reading the beginning she gave a wry smile.
Her entourage not reading or understanding but paying more attention to the girl that was with him.
"Sorry, I meant Rexford." Yang Li gave a self-deprecating laugh. "Sorry for shouting the wrong thing."
"It was about what, two years ago words exchanged between us. The fact you recognized me is pretty amazing. Still have the bad boys wrapped around your finger I see." He gestured to those with her. It was a heads up for A'Xiu more than anything. She understood well enough it seemed. "So cute, I insisted you let me call you Lili, but why are you in Qing Yang County?"
"Well.. I mean.." His strong gaze had her squirming. With the time changing and less light, Rexford's eyes sort of glowed gold. Unless he stopped it. But that was not happening since so much Violent qi was around for the taking. "I am the older one and should be asking you that?!"
"Shouldn't you be in school right now?" Rexford smiled at her. This caused the males to get upset. "Out playing around, tsk tsk. I am gonna have to let Chen Ning know. Her roommate playing around in such a dangerous place."
"Shouldn't you be in school?" She retorted angrily. "I should be reprimanding you!" Her hands on her hips as she was about to go into a tirade.
"Took the time off. My grades can afford it easily." Rexford was starting to walk off. A'Xiu interlocked her arm with him after the gaze of one of the guys looked unfriendly. "Later."
"Woah there!" One of the college guys got in front of him. "Why don't we all tag along together?"
"Yeah, not safe for you to youngsters by yourself." Another one said.
"We will be fine. " Rexford sidesteps pass him but the guy was persistent. "Step off or get knocked off." His eyes flared dangerously. "You are beginning to ruin my night. Get your lapdog out of my face Xiao Wang."
"Whoa calm down man, no need to get testy." The one who eyed A'Xiou early said. A little arrogantly at that. Xiao Wang was from Jin city and it technically wasn't hard for Rexford to know of him. Especially with Xiao Wang's family having money. "No need to show off for your girlfriend."
"Should apologize to appease him." The third guy said. he was rich like Xiao Wang and was used to using money to get what he want. "Maybe Brother Zhang should teach him to respect his elders."
"Haa, annoying and not listening to reason." Rexford and A'xiu started walking again. "Oh, you ladies should be careful of your drinks. Watch out if they gain a bit of cloudiness in them!" He said it pretty loudly. Most of the people in the area heard this.
Yang Li looked at the guys oddly. Remembering hearing a few rumors about them doing something odd. Well, their friends are doing that anyway. Seeing the reaction of her boyfriend Xiao Wang she felt funny and sent a few messages out right quick.
"You little punk!" Xiao Wang charged at him, Rexford. Since fights were so known here no one said anything and just watched. "Brother Zhang help teach him a lesson!"
*Pow!* Rexford didn't even fully turn as he sent out a Flicker jab to the rich boy's face. Using only his body's strength restrain just a pinch.
*Fwoosh!* Xiao Wang went flying back for over 200 feet and landed on top of a food stall. His jaw was crushed with several facial cranium cracks and brain bleeding. Oddly enough some pills flew out of his pocket.
Erectile dysfunction pills and some GHB. One of the women in the group picked it up eyes going wide when she read it over—with such a large crowd around she dropped it quickly not wanting to be associated with it.
"No way..." Yang Li looked on in awe. She never knew her roommate's cousin was so impressive. Looking at Xiao Wang out cold she at least called the paramedics over. It was a good thing they were all over the place so the wait was short.
A'Xiu and Rexford returned to the hotel. Upon arriving, she made her decision.
.
That Night-
.
Rexford passed on to her a new manual. Composed of the ones from Chen Fan's memory and that of his own insights gained in the Transcendence Realm. The manual took only an hour to pass on to her. Inscribing onto her very soul.
*Knock! Knock!* The door was opened to reveal his people. Seeing the young woman drenched in grime they didn't know what to think at first.
"Have a seat." Rexford gestured. Chang Wen eyed A'Xiu critically. "Yes?"
"New disciple?"
"Yup. Completely new." Rexford nodded. He walked over moving his hand over A'Xiu. All of the expelled toxins and filth from her body vanished. It was thrown into the Black Gold Vortex of course. "Make sure you treat her well."
"As long as she doesn't have my manual I am fine." Chang Wen pouted. She was upset that Yu Wenjing had a version of hers. She felt less special now. "Haa, wish I could have mastered it without the help of another."
"Hehe." Yu Wenjing gave a dry laugh. "It is only temporary until I find a better one."
Sini Dova just shook her head at the girl. She had no idea how amazing the manual was. Even more so with her special body of hers. With her not being as close as the others she left it alone though.
"Means I just have to work harder to make sure we find one for you. I have to be the first one to master this!" Chang Wen was very competitive. Which was good. "Oh, she is coming to."
"Waaah, I feel so good." A'Xiu was not shocked about everyone in the room. Having heard them while she was condensing her cultivation. "Sunset Explosion Art, is so weird of a name. But a mixture of all three fields of Body, Mind, and Soul."
*Woom!* She solidified the Qi Refining Realm. Just a little more working out to set the building blocks for that of External Strength. A rich orange topaz necklace hangs around her neck that gathers bits of Sun qi.
One of the Black Gold Vortex gems. The gem had taken in a good bit of the qi in his Internal Space produced by the Black Gold Vortex and the herbs inside.
"Hi, when you are rested we should talk." Sini Dova said. "Kind of the guide for females starting in his Household."
"Household?" A'Xiu looked at the sexy woman and had trouble keeping her thoughts pure.
"So how was everyone's day so far?" Rexford asked. Listening to them describe the fights and competition he was quite happy they enjoyed themselves. Quite a few earn some money from the betting taking place.
"Before we get deeper into it, what about later?" Biao asked.
"Proceed as normal. I will spend the next few days cultivating and planning some things out. So everyone feel free to have fun but make sure you get some matches in for training. That is all I ask really."
"What about a reward boss man?" Biao knew how to motivate everyone. "For most improved from the fighting and who learns the most."
"Sounds good to me." Rexford was about to say more but Wei Lan caught his attention. "What's wrong Wei Lan?"
"Eh, if you are going to be cultivating then that means we can't spar." The young woman said disappointed. "I learn the most when I am stuck at a hurdle from you or from Ziqing. Something about the way you two that does it."
"Oh, that is because I am teaching and learning when I spar. I am generally not out to win the spar itself." Rexford answered surprised them. "That is the whole purpose of the spar really. Also the reason I tell you to spar some days and do mock battles other days."
Going into details about matters the group stood up pretty late talking. The next day the others went to participate in the fights. With A'Xiu going in the morning but staying behind for the evenings to cultivate under Sini Dova and Rexford's tutelage.
Her hard work paid off more than most natural affinity fighters.
For the most part the group had no real trouble. Until Yang Li came back with the others one day. Her face pretty brusied with pretty deep cuts.
