As they moved to the starting zone, several bets were made by everyone present. Paul placed his wager on Chen Xu. Taking into consideration the horse Caesar that he rode. Unlike the horse that still needed to be broken in that Rexford rode Caesar was purebred from a champion lineage.
Chen An was finally up but not on his own feet easily. Supported by a few family members who did not want to miss a single thing. A few of the Chen Family members were now devoid of the Gold Qi and only had Black Qi inside them. All those who personally clashed with certain ideals were grown further.
They would not benefit in the long term from the business changes.
"You may be upset now, but whether you thank me later is not a problem." Youya said to Chen Ning who came over to her and Churan. Some of what Sini Dova made her want to help the other college girl more than before. even with Rexford only marking her for business. "You are still my friend and I am trying to save you from a terrible fate all the same."
"Do you plan on using me to marry someone to the Mingyun Family?" Chen Ning was skeptical at best.
"Not at all." Youya shook her head ruefully. "The choice will be up to you. I want you to be happy." Trotting over on a pony, Chen Guoguo was a little bothered. "What's wrong?" She liked the child well enough to show concern no matter what was happening.
"I bet all my allowance on big brother Rexford winning! Just hope he puts that jerk, Chen Xu, in his place!" The young girl stuck her tongue at him angrily. "Betting on people like this! How rude!"
"Haha, they are something." Wei Zifang chuckled a little to the side. His eyes lingered on Youya who definitely stood out too much in her riding gear. Next to Chen Ning and Churan was the young man hot-blooded. 'Have to play this cool to keep from pissing off my squeeze.'
Just a moment of clouded judgment caused by the changes Rexford did to the Wei Family. Pressure by the Elders caused a few to be careful with certain actions.
"Ziqing, come get this fool before he gets his teeth knocked in." Churan said disdainfully. Well aware of the habitats of Wei Zifang lately. He was better than Wei Ziping by a large margin but changes were easy to catch by her. "You really can't be the only one besides Wei Lan worth a damn in the younger generation!"
Her voice carried well enough in the area. Churan was quite bold with a cultivation to back it up. A very Prideful young woman.
"Go!" Paul started the race. Both riders shot pass him at a dangerous pace. With Rexford gaining the lead at an alarming rate. "Not even using a riding crop to push the horse on faster!"
"Good horse, go ahead and increase the gap!" Rexford coaxed the horse as his thighs kept him on securely. He was happy his cultivation made the pain from riding without a saddle completely none existent. "You want to be taken as a racing horse seriously? Then prove it!"
*Whiny!* The horse gave a cry as it sped up faster. The gap between the two horses increased so much that the crowd started cheering loudly in excitement. Luckily the horses they rode were to the side secured.
"Come on Caesar!" Chen Xu was livid that he was losing so badly. The crop hitting the horse so hard welts were visible already.
The outcome was easy to see as Rexford and the unbroken horse crossed the finish line. The crowd was not ready for what happened next, as the two doubled back around heading towards Chen Xu.
"What are you doing!?" Pulling back on the reins to stop the horse before they crashed, Chen Xu was once again removed from the saddle. "Oof!"
*Tap!* Rexford jumped off his horse landing right next to him and picking up the crop. A few swats in his hand left no don't to the crowd at what he was about to do. Churan ran over to the horse Caesar that moved to the side.
"Easy there!" She calmed the horse down with a few of the workers. The welts were deep and wide. "This is not good!" It was bleeding at an alarming rate. She looked to Rexford with little doubt in her mind. 'Could he tell the distress the horse was in?'
When Rexford turned back, his Divine Sense had already locked onto the screaming horse. Not physically but the spirit of the horse itself. This was not the first time it was treated so harshly.
"I will get the vet to come to check the horse over!" Paul called out. His face paled at the thought of injury for the horse. "Oh, this is really not good!"
"What do you think you are doing?" Chen Xu crawled away in the dirt. Not caring for his appearance at all. "You won already! The car is yours!" Just couldn't get enough distance between them.
*Woom!* The Fear Qi was so pure that Rexford was just happy to dish out some pain to the little asshole. The horse was definitely in bad shape but nothing that wouldn't be cured later.
"Rexford!" Youya cried out as she definitely could tell he would most likely kill on accident. If not from anger on purpose. "Your point has been made from winning alone!" She was still a little too loyal to the Chen Family, unfortunately.
"Yeah, would be bad for business to dirty my hands on such trash." Rexford turned away dropping the riding whip. 'Such decisions to make against little brats like this. Killing them is really easy though. Especially with them not being worth much in the short and long run. Can't control rabid animals without taking a possible loss.'
Anger needed to be guided, and he was surprised he was so riled up just then. Fear may have been getting to him.
"Let me take a look at the horse." Rexford pushed around the area of the cut hide. The blood flow was already stopped by Churan and the staff. They used some fresh bottled water to get a good look at it. "Glad to see the staff at work first hand."
"Thank the young lady here." One of the staff gestured to Churan. "She was on Caesar so fast to calm him down it helped a lot."
Churan just gave a simple nod as this was the right thing to do she thought. Youya gave her an encouraging pat on the back for her quick thinking and use of qi.
Turning away from the Chen Family's little hope of the future, Rexford walked off with his people to go towards the Lamborghini. Churan had the keys in her hand and wanted to take it for a ride already.
"Wait.. you don't have your license yet do you?"
"Hehe.. have my permit." Churan froze by the door smiling wryly. The keys were taken from her on the spot. "Oh come on!" Her senses were more than sharp enough to take into account anything.
"Get your full license and the car is yours." Rexford shook his head placing his hand up to stop any whining. "Not into endorsing stupidness like this. Be lucky I don't care for this type of car at all."
"Really now?" Chen Ning furrowed her brow at the thought of a young man not liking a sports car like this. 'He cannot be serious.'
"The upkeep alone is just a pain in the ass for one." Rexford tossed the keys to Youya. "Make sure you get the paperwork and the transfer done correctly. If they give trouble later, I will cause a bigger one. You understand?"
"Of course." Youya gave a nod. "I will see you at home later." Both she and Churan went back to the others. "Coming Chen Ning?" Seeing the lingering surprised look the college student gave Rexford she was surprised. 'A lot of her arrogance towards him is gone already. Showing you are capable goes a long way in this family.'
It was a bitter feeling that she made sure not to develop when raising her own kids. Or encouraging in the Mingyun family.
"I am coming!" Chen Ning jogged over quickly to the other two. "Why are your cheeks so red?"
Yin Wanqin was making her displeasure known to Wei Zifang. Confronting him about the rumors regarding the relationship with his cousin Wei Lan. Not to mention the overall way things were done in the Wei household lately.
People were talking and one thing a Family like the Wei's couldn't have so openly was a loss of face.
Chen An ear hustled listening to the situation. Chen Xu was so angry they all thought he would burst a blood vessel soon.
Rexford was not just a regular type of petty, what happened to Wei Lan was enough to make him have Wei Zifang suffer some more. He was a person in the corner of Wei Ziping, best to make all those who back the other suffer.
"Make sure you pay in full in regards to today's ride!" Yin Wanqin said in barely controlled outrage. "If you excuse me, I have to tend to an injured horse!" She moved off seeing the vet had made it over. 'Glad the deal was signed before they arrived!'
Yin Wanqin and Wei Zifang were deeply in love with each other beforehand but that didn't mean the entire situation was good. Having weathered the storm of trouble in University due to social standings, Yin Wanqin had much to be grateful for with her lover.
She just couldn't condone the treatment Wei Lan received or his lustful wandering gaze. Even if Wei Zifang brought more business to the Zi Yun Club. Having made a business deal with Mingyun Rexford, she wanted to celebrate the news and help elevate him in his family more.
A way to pay back and share in his glory of making the right decision of being with her.
"This is the fault of your boy toy!" Wei Zifang snapped at Wei Ziqing. "What lies has he been telling people!?" He made the mistake of grabbing the much stronger young woman roughly by the shoulder. "Woah!"
*Fwip!* Zifang was tossed over her shoulder into the ground really hard. Even dislocating his arm. Which was just as humiliating since he was trained and in the military. Not to mention much older.
"Never put your hands on me again!" Wei Ziqing was so stressed from the Wei Rao incident, she lost composure just then. It happened when dealing with family. "For your information and the nosy elders you lapdog, my boyfriend's name is Yang Chao!"
Calmed a little, she wanted to use the situation to her advantage and would not let rumors build up. There was a thing between herself and Rexford yes, but that was business and that of Master and Student.
"Ugh!" Griping his shoulder, the rage generated by the current black sheep in the Wei Family gave him would not go away anytime soon. 'Just you wait! I will have my father deal with your father real soon!'
The small retaliation would do more harm to his fathers' career than Wei Ziqing's father. After all, her father had the assistance of Head Instructor Rexford in the military Special Division.
"Damn that Chen Fan!" Chen Xu fumed. "Father will hear of this!" Most of the younger generation pulled away from him not wanting to be caught in the crossfire.
Common Snese started to prevail a little better.
"We should go." Chen An shook his head still breathing with difficulty. "Take me to a hospital." He was mostly wanting to get far away from this situation with the little bit of pride he had left.
The day ends well and is relatively good for some.
But the night still had trouble coming.
