Interlude Clark setting up elsewhere

Youya stirred in her sleep, waking up. Waking up after spending her time "lucid dreaming" would take getting used to. Sini Dova and the others explained well enough that she would be able to contact any other while they were sleeping through the use of the Silhouettes. A type of Avatar for her to use of herself.

Cultivation seemed to be an uphill battle learning she was finding it. When she made that remark, Yanyan Hu informed her it was more Rexford as a Champion power, which led to an unusual conversation she needed to digest.

"Haa!" Stretching awake, Youya felt the air was a little different. "...!" She went to bed without any undergarments. The warmth of no longer touching Rexford's body was missed. "It was all real!" Her shout caused Rexford to look over at her. "Clothes!"

Taking the blanket, she wrapped herself up, embarrassed. However, her partner was not modest like her.

"Morning to you to." Rexford was up about an hour ago, but decided to stay in bed communicating with the Demon Wizard Cult. A few Herbs had grown with the help of the Rain Qi he made beforehand. "I have some work to do, but I have time for breakfast. Want me to cook you something or would you rather go out?"

"I... I have to get back and talk to mother!" Youya was very close to Wang Xiaouyun, and the discussions with the other Devouts let her know it would be good to get her on their side. "You... I.." Stammering, her emotional state was all over the place.

*Smooch!* Rexford bent down, kissing her on the lips. He soothes her a little before getting dressed and heading to the kitchen to talk with Clark. Best to let her calm down further on her own about what happened.

She may have regrets. Morning Clarity had a way of doing that to people.

It was all well, and good Rexford did so. Youya was caught between happiness and the nagging feeling that Chen Fan was there and had been taken away somewhere. The nagging feeling made her conflicted.

On the one hand, she did want her brother back, but on the other, she wanted the life she had now to continue. Circulating her Cultivation, she forced herself to calm down and then get cleaned up. Phone in one hand as she made a call.

"Sini Dova, I need to talk with you urgently. It doesn't matter what you are currently doing." The concern in her voice made it easy for the other to understand. Sini Dova was prepared for the further talks in regard to particular possibilities. 'I really hope he didn't kill him.'

Downstairs, Clark and Rexford started cooking breakfast. Only a slight problem with him being short currently. But other than that, he was fine. The talk with his grandmother went well enough, it seemed.

"Are you sure?" Rexford asked while pouring some eggs into a skillet.

"I am sure, cuz." Clark was putting some jelly on the toast. The coffee had just finished causing him to go over to get the first sip before Rexford. The top coffee was always the best in the pot to them both. "I can work on getting America ready for when the "Calm" period takes place here."

"Haa, really sucks, though. At least it will make it easier to go over and conduct business later to. What are you going to do for your personal stuff while there?" Moving the eggs around, he was mindful to remember to stretch his Divine Sense far out to keep notice.

"Was thinking Texas but.. maybe Seattle. A place with a lot of land to develop is the better option. It makes it easy to build some structures after getting permits in place. Private land and all that before anyone gets nosy."

"Seattle does have fond memories. So definitely no school, I take it?" Setting the eggs down on a plate with some bacon, all that was left was some sausage and the grits. "You were about to go to college, but kind of weird now to do so."

"Definitely no school. Well going to be homeschooled if anyone asks." Clark refused to do so, know matter how much his grandmother thought it would be good for him. He put his little foot down very adamantly. He would do terrible things if she forced the issue. "Plus, I can build up my Collection of books again; with the time I have, it will be fast."

"Money," Rexford wouldn't let his little cousin go without additional help. The same as he did back in their Dimension when his parents pulled their act. He wished he could raise him full time, but Clark's grandparents, aunts, and uncles refused. "a smooth million to help, and as long as you do good work, I will pay you."

"Thanks." Clark took the card and stored it in his Internal Space. Which only had a few documents for his identity so far. "You are the best man." He refused to start crying over the situation.

The realization of having lost his family all over again came to the surface.

"Hey now.." Rexford hugged him from the side, consoling him. "..no matter what, man, you have me in your corner. If the others were here, they would have your back to. So cheer up; we will meet them all again."

"You're right," Clark sniffled a little. "Grandma Hera gave me some stuff for my "magic" to build back up. Can you give me something to train my body?"

"Yeah." Rexford was planning on doing that even if he didn't ask. He passed him the Azure Emperor Longevity Body, which promoted good solid growth and health while growing, and The Great Way of the Void Battling Immortal further strengthened his soul. "These should help keep you safe and.."

"Woah!" Clark exclaimed excitedly. Interested in the Body Manual more than anything. "Definitely will be good to go to Seattle and set up shop with this!"

AS the two talked and ate, Youya came down and couldn't help but smile. Seeing them so happy and in good spirits meant everything was fine. She still worried that the boy literally had his body created in front of her, and Rexford was defintely worried he would have failed.

"I am off you two; it was nice meeting you." She waved to Clark. Before she could get out the door, Rexford stopped her. "What is it?"

"Are you ok? We didn't get a chance to talk yet."

"I am fine; we have all the time later. Just take care of your cousin." Youya returned the motion of kissing him on the cheek before opening the door. The fact Rexford smelled of the sun and flowers was odd. 'He didn't shower, so why does he smell so good?'

*Thunk!* The door closed a little loudly.

"So.. how did you get married exactly?" Clark was leaning back, having watched the two interact briefly. His coffee cup raised to his lips. "I mean, I thought you were done with that kind of thing after the Miranda incident."

Rexford moved back, taking a sip from his coffee and explaining what was going on with the marriage. Not many were actually on paper, and all that for arrangement purposes and financial issues.

"Haaa, so not in love with them, that's good." Clark didn't find it odd after hearing the details, considering his upbringing and the fact it did not go well the last time Rexford was going to settle down. "Caring is one thing, love... not good. But they may want to change that setup in the future. At least you are not going in without telling them the deal beforehand."

"I am an ass, not an asshole." Clark rolled his eyes at him. "If an adult of sound mind decided to enter this kind of relationship and then gets made later about it, it is only their fault. Emotions are not a justification to force others to change the way they live to suit you completely."

They were free to leave any time they wanted, the same as he would go anytime he felt like it. No forced obligations, only what they agreed to have with each other.

"I agree, just don't get caught up in feelings when you aren't sure of yourself. That's what you told me when I got my first boyfriend. Then again, when I got my first girlfriend." Clark put the cup down, taking a bite of toast. "Besides, the people here.. in this country.. something is off about them."

"Heh, remember when we went to the rally in California with Valencia?"

"Yeah, we killed that guy fucking those kids. I remember." Clark frowned at how easily the memory came up in detail.

"Despite the sick moral issue of what he was doing, the legality was the problem. Valencia was so pissed she couldn't keep him in jail. How the wife didn't speak up about what was going on, I treat the people here like that."

"How many people have you killed since being here then!?" Clark's eyes were wide open in shock.

"Not a lot; I am not a psycho!" He frowned at his cousin. Then laughed. "Heh, ok, robbing people of their lives technically counts as killing, I guess. I don't really count it all; lots of sex offenders are getting their just desserts. It makes me feel good, and I am not going to stop. "

*Woom!* He produced the Aspect of Fear Spear.

"I am getting a steady stream of power each time I do it to. Definitely see the appeal of Urban Legends even further now. The creation of an Urban Legend perhaps but the power comes to me, comes to this weapon of mine."

"Cool." Clark looked the macabre-looking spear over but didn't touch it. "If I say your name in the mirror several times, are you gonna appear out of it?"

"I.. actually don't know." Rexford never thought about trying to do so. "I am also not dead, but I will check over some Curse Techniques to see if something is close to letting me do that."

"A spear.. your power realized is a Spear.. wait a minute.. are you still Roman Catholic?" Clark brow furrowed, thinking what his grandmother said regarding the Aspects and them taking form into physical objects. "Cause that.. ended badly last time you did anything in and within a church."

"Hmm, I might be. I definitely haven't been in practice in any way, shape, or form lately. Plus.. the representation of the Church in this Dimension as a power structure is definitely... a problem."

"Are all your Aspects like Spears?" Clark rocked his head to the side, not knowing much about this place, really.

"Yeah, they are."

"So, your parents are Destiny, and whoever the hell else is the other parent.." Clark only knew Destiny was the spiritual parent just because he was pulled out of the Void by it. That and the power used to give him a body. "..all Spears."

"Nah, just a coincidence. I am not a good person to be some type of leader." Rexford put the spear away and ate some more of his breakfast. "Giving orders in operations is one thing but a savior or something is not me."

"Sure, if you say so. Better not pull out some Spear of Destiny then."

"Hehe.. yeah." Rexford gave a dry laugh looking away from him.

"Rexford.. you don't have one already, do you?" Clark's eyes shined in mischief. Curiosity always got him in trouble, but it also brought the most amount of fun. "Come on, man! Spill!"

"No, but I have a Purpose Spear. Still forming, I think. Definitely don't know how I am going to deal with it without screwing up something. My studies are already occupied while making money."

"Well, just leave it alone for a while and don't use it consciously." Clark reached over, taking his bacon. "You snooze; you lose!"

"You brat! I was saving that piece for last!" Rexford forgot the little food thief liked snatching to mess with people.

"Should never leave it unprotected!" Clark chewed the bacon, smiling. "You taught me to keep what we value safe. Even if its just a meal."

Thinking about it, Rexford defintely did a quick check over his people and then have the Mini check over his Formations set up. Just a precaution, really.

"Enough Champion talk, let's get you some clothes and ready for the flight later." Finishing his breakfast, Clark grabbed the dishes cleaning them while Rexford went to get the car. "If Chitang was free, he could come with us."
