Riding along on the buses for a day, Wei Lan was happy Rexford was impressed with the changes she made to the Transportation areas. It was the last drive of the day and everything was going pretty well. Not a single incident and kept thoughts away regarding the previous incidents.
"A few more bus companies, and we will have the outer area under our purview. The contract with the County is already signed." Leaning back in the chair, Wei Lan looked away at her laptop, making a few double-checks. "I still prefer the Helicopter Business potential, but too many people like traveling by land still."
The cost is also still an issue and with lost business potential it was best to be cautious right now. A reserved attitude out in the open went a long way for clientele and the general public.
"It might be the feel of the motor vibrating underneath, or the snugness of the large chairs provided." Rexford rubbed his shoulders and was happy she upgraded the seats at least. The previous ones were just not comfortable, even for a 30-min drive. Wooden chairs even felt better. "Make sure to coordinate for our people that work out in the countryside, they have another form of free transportation now."
"What about the family extension that was asked?" Wei Lan hid a small smile as she was happy he kept the common people in regard.
"Hold off on it. Not all of the buses are eco-friendly yet. Plus, the background portion of it is not set up yet for bi-weekly transport appointments." Turning from the window, Rexford noticed a young woman was staring at him closely. "Yes?"
"Hi, I am Liao Xiaoqian.. I was wondering.. you look like Mingyun Rexford.. but that can't be true..." The cheerful female was really easygoing. Talking to a stranger so easily but she couldn't help herself. "you could be a look a like.."
"No, I couldn't... because I am him." The name though brought up something but he was to at ease to really care. "Look," he pulled out the magazine that was in front and showed a comparison between the two. "Personally I think I look better in person."
The two talked a little with the young woman becoming excited after the verification with a few checks that he was really Mingyun Rexford. The odds of meeting him on a bus were enough to make the girl feel she was really lucky.
Her vacation was about to have a bump in it, however. A gang member got on the bus. The upstart thought more of his value than he actually had. Seeing so many beauties in one spot, the idiot couldn't resist.
"Hey there." The thug Hao started talking to Wei Lan, who ignored him with a fierce glare. 'Tch! I don't feel like dealing with a difficult one. This other girl looks simple!'
"Umm..."
'Hmm, I should really increase security. Forgot about little incidents like this predominant in this country. Such forceful and passive number of males pushing people into very illegal positions.'
"Hao is nothing much compared to Jun behind him." A passenger said in fear, looking at the young man who just stood up. "Don't do anything rash young man."
"This area between Jiangzhou is his territory, and no one dares to mess with him." Another passenger voiced out. Thinking mentioning this would help deter a problem. "You should think about this carefully."
"Cowards should continue to shut up and keep their heads down while waiting to die." Rexford's tone was colder than he meant but he just felt disgusted by these people. "Wei Lan, make sure we pay for some security along the routes in the future, I doubt we could afford to waste money on paying money to the various police forces to make changes that benefit us."
Nodding, Wei Lan went to type it up while looking for some security companies they could afford until the situation could be stabilized.
The various passengers were shamed but also trying to figure out who the young man happened to be. His tone and bearing were a little rude but also forceful enough they instinctively followed what he said.
Hao was pushed off the bus with a little force. Making him stumble and fall with each shove. To add insult to injury, the thug was even kicked like a soccer ball down the steps. Talking on the phone loudly, he was grateful someone picked up so quickly.
"Filthy trash that has nothing better to do but mess with people trying to go about their life. What a shame you wasted your life like this." Rexford got off the bus removing the handgun he took from Tinhao months ago. "Such modifications to it, but it needs some full testing in the field."
Hao was banged up but this was not the end of it. He didn't know who this guy was but those hits did some real damage and no amount of shouting did anything to persuade the guy to stop.
Self-preservation kicked in so he tried to scamper off.
*Pow!* The first shot hit the guy in the back. The bullet shined golden sucking in the person's soul into it very quickly. With the use of Divine Sense, the bullet was retrieved for later to look over.
Various Suv's came to a stop at the sound of the shot. Various people rushed out but stopped seeing someone pointing a gun and using it in broad daylight.
"Holy shit!" One of the thugs was scared. All of the Fear Qi was swept in one go.
"Don't kill me!" Another pleaded.
*Pow!* Rexford shot that person next of course.
"Stop killing my men!" Jun shouted terrified. He never thought something like this would happen in broad daylight. "Don't you hear me! I SAID STOP!!"
"No." Rexford fired a few more times killing all of them and saving the boss for last. "You didn't think it would end as this did you?" Approaching as the entire area was locked down in a wave with intense Gravity and Space qi that took care of any passerby, Rexford was grateful about being in such a rural area. Pressing the gun right to the temple, he executed him at the peak of Fear. "Umm, thanks for the meal."
The Qi was so strong and potent, that Rexford frowned as he knew he could not take anymore until for some time. A certain mindset would develop if he was not careful. But he could still make use of it to change others to proceed with his plans to gain more cities under his control.
Then the various counts before making stronger moves to take an entire country. With the help of the right people, it should go smoother.
Looking at the people on the bus, Rexford pushed out some Qi and made a small incantation. Touching upon each of them with a bit of effort to make lesser versions of Inscription upon them. Ones that would work as surveillance to help him judge and determine the value of people better.
*Schup!* Creating a few black spheres of malleable Qi, the vehicles and bodies were pulled inside. Rexford then sucked them all into the Black Gold Vortex after Richard and his Mini went through them all for items and for Richard's Aspects to grow in strength. The latter's Aspect of Longevity and History were quite a combination.
Richard uses of Telepathy to gain all of their History and remaining Longevity in the bodies, the Mini brushes up on the Soul Search technique with the mixture of Telepathy insights learned from the other Champion Richard who had such otherworldly comprehension and adaptation.
'Together, how dangerous would all of us be?' Rexford thought over how with each touch, Richard's Qi rose for his Immortal Cultivation. The information he gained allowed him to find a few more people to visit for a quick boost in power. 'So many oppressed people by these low rent thugs...'
Cleaning out of a few more in his Contact list was needed. To be precise, he needed those under him to check over their people closer. Not just lay down the law but enforce it as well.
"You killed them all." Miao Xiaoqian said shocked. Like a few others she poked her head out to see everything. Fear tended to lose out against curiosity at times.. the worst times anyway. "Won't the police get involved?"
"They were wastes to society overall, I wouldn't worry about it." Rexford sat back on the bus next to Wei Lan a few moments later. "Seeing firsthand about security on the buses and the pathetic driver we should buy the company out and do some replacements on most drivers overall."
The driver didn't even try to handle the situation or try to call the police. Rexford was not a fan of the Bystander Effect in any way or form. That and he was just a meddlesome person when paying attention to something.
"I will get right on it." Wei Lan nodded. She wanted to do that later after giving a few people a chance but orders were orders. 'The Bus Driver is responsible for the passengers so they can not be cowards afraid to act. With the number of medical issues that pop up as well, I wonder if the proposal to have nurses ride along for a few hours will be viable soon in the countryside?'
The logistics need to be worked out more on that. So far a lot of test runs to go through in society implementation. But best to test here than the greater World at Large.
The bus ride was pretty quiet with a lot of people so shaken up that they dared not make a peep.
"I will get to work on all of this, see you later Master Mingyun." Wei Lan bowed with respect and then left first. Speedwalking to a car that was waiting for her, she departed to get work underway on what to check in the area. Of course, she would come back later when the contracts were ready to look over personally. 'I wonder where I can obtain some better employees though?'
It was mostly PR reasons they agreed this was the better option. Especially with safety features needing to be implemented before future troubles develop.
Miao Xiaoqian was happy to network with Rexford but that did not mean she was not scared. Wei Lan was just too busy working away on her computer before her to speak with. The drive was exhilarating and scary but an eye-opener.
"If you are looking for a job, call me ok?" Handing the business card over, she was surprised it had her name on it. "Plus a free subscription for our streaming service is included."
"Thanks!" Excited, she walked off with Lu Yanxue and was just too proud to show interest. "This is so crazy! I even get to save on a few other things!"
"Alright, settle down. We still need to head-on." Lu Yanxue was a little jealous of her friend but also happy that she found such a person who showed her interest. 'I swear this name sounds familiar. Now where did I come across this besides with that of the name Mingyun in Martial Arts?'
Lu Yanxue would kick herself later about this as she had a better chance to get in with Rexford and elevate her position. But, Pride does make things very difficult for most.
Amongst the various people on the bus, a few were grateful that the hoodlums were killed. So much harassment and the loss of some of their loved ones from gangs helped keep the situation calm overall. They did protest but time and time again it did not end well.
Human beings were quite complicated and Rexford himself was not any better.
