Chapter 46

"Eh? He's gone?" Kyouka said in surprise when she turned the corner.

The person that she was running after disappeared after turning into an alleyway that led to a dead-end!

"Where is he?" Similar to Kyouka, Chiyuki and the others were confused about how he disappeared.

"Nao, can I ask you to check for anything suspicious with your detection magic?" Chiyuki quickly said.

"I understand!" Nao replied.

Nao immediately used her detection magic to see if there were anything odds in this alley. Meanwhile, the others were talking to each other about the masked person's identity.

"Why are we following that person?" Shirone asked.

"I don't know either, but I have had a feeling that something bad will happen for a while now, and seeing that man increased that feeling. I'm not saying that he's connected, but he might be a clue to the origin of my bad feeling." Chiyuki said worriedly.

They already had enough to worry about, especially with the appearance of the Dark Knight. Now there was another person they should be cautious.

"Honestly... How troublesome." Chiyuki sighed to herself. One strong person was already enough. But now they get news that someone that was possibly stronger than the Dark Knight was out there. To make matters worse, they didn't know which side the masked person was on.

"Chiyuki-san! I found something strange." Nao called out to Chiyuki after a few minutes. She was observing a part of the wall in the alleyway closely.

"What is it?" Chiyuki quickly went towards where Nao was. She, too, started paying attention to the wall that Nao was observing.

"This wall, it's special."

"What's special about it? Is there something hidden in it?"

"Something like that. This wall... It's actually a space portal disguised as a wall."

"Oh, that's interesting. I've never seen this type of magic before." Chiyuki said with curiosity. She was someone who could use all kinds of magic, but this was the time she heard of a space portal. Yes, there was space magic that she knew, but most of it was a one-time thing before it needed to be recast.

But this space portal lets you supposedly connect two different places and freely travel between those places. There was no need to recast the spell or anything.

That was Chiyuki's speculation on what this space portal was.

After Chiyuki told the others about it, they agreed with her speculation.

"Then is it safe to go through the portal?" Shirone asked.

"I think so, and maybe we could see something extraordinary on the other side," Nao said.

Certainly.

But Chiyuki couldn't help but be nervous. The uncomfortable feeling increased as they entered the portal.

...

Meanwhile, on the other side, after Seal entered the portal that he created, he arrived at the Roch Kingdom. It was a country located on the east side of the Central Continent.

"Is this the place?" Seal muttered to himself.

He was unsure whether he got the right place, so he had to go and see for himself.

And it was the right place. Seal sighed in relief.

He didn't just come to this kingdom for no reason. In fact, something interesting was about to happen here. Not only that, that something will involve people from the Hero of Light's party.

That was why he left the portal behind so that would follow him. Since without them, that person would never show up.

"This will be an interesting show." Seal said to himself. His target was the god that would show up later on.

"Oh, looks like they're here." Seal said before he started to walk farther away from the portal, so it doesn't look like he waited for them.

And not long after, the others who entered the portal appeared.

"Wow... What... Where are we now?" Shirone asked.

"This is the Roch Kingdom!" Chiyuki exclaimed. She had been to most of the kingdoms in this world because of her fascination for learning new magic.

"More importantly, where is that person?" Kyouka asked.

"He shouldn't be far. If we go right now, we might find him." Chiyuki said.

They hurriedly ran out of the alleyway where they appeared from and looked left and right. The streets were pretty crowded too, so it was hard to find the person they were after.

However, due to the efforts of splitting up, they managed to find where that man went.

Following his tracks, they entered a luxurious building, but then they were confused.

"He disappeared again..." Kyouka grumbled.

They found out that the person escaped from them once again. They were so frustrated that they didn't even bother to ask the people inside the building. Because if they did, the people would've told them that the person matching their description was in the room just 1 floor above them.

Meanwhile, Seal was leaning against the bed while thinking about some things.

First, it was the matter of the Advancement Energy that he needed to acquire before becoming stronger. He has been thinking about it for a while now, but the only conclusion he could come up with was that his skill Devour was needed to increase his Advancement Energy.

Second, he wasn't 100% confident that his plan in luring out the God of Death, Zarxis. He might be exposed before he could come in contact with Zarxis. But he was confident in the ability to subduing Zarxis if his plan ever got exposed.

Of course, he wanted to see how powerful this God of Death was. Maybe he could at least scratch him or at most make him lose a considerable amount of blood.

But still, Seal felt no remorse if this God of Death somehow disappeared. A new God of Death would replace him either way. Furthermore, keeping Zarxis alive could hinder him in his later plans.

Knowing this, Seal couldn't help but let out a bright smile.

No one knew if it was because of his habit or because he needed it, but Seal fell asleep right after.

It was an exciting day tomorrow, and he was looking forward to it.
