Extra Eyes (Part 1)

I slowly wake up to the notification and saw the room was...darker yet brighter than last time. I feel something touching my face and my neck. I placed my hand on my face and see that my black hair grew some inches.

"System? Why did my hair grow long?"

[It is one of the causes that has compensated. Your entire body has gone through changes along with your hair.]

"My body?"

I looked at my chest and pulled my shirt up. My chest has now gotten toned and showed muscles on there as well. I looked at my arm and it has gotten a little thicker in muscle.

"I guess I have."

Hyoran, who was sleeping next to me slowly wakes up and yawns. She crawls and hugs me while seemingly in a daze. She's like a child holding a giant teddy bear. Until she realizes that the teddy bear was slim and stiff.

"Kain...?" Hyoran said, still in a daze.

"Morning, Hyoran." I said, patting her head. Hyoran blinked as to snap out of her stupor. When her vision cleared.

"Morning, Kain." Hyoran smiled. She then noticed my hair had gotten longer. "Your hair grew..."

"Yeah, it grew." I said. I turned to Gris who stood up and stretched himself to get rid of stiffness.

"Morning, Gris." I said. Gris jumped on the bed and snuggled us happily. Hyoran giggled as Gris licked her face.

"Hey, that tickles." Hyoran said.

"You're lively today." Ezo said, entering the door, holding a fresh set of clothes. However, they're different.

"Yeah. Wanna go out adventuring?" I said. Hyoran quickly turned and bounced on the bed as she wanted to go too.

"I take it you two liked adventuring. Alright, let's go." said Ezo. Gris jumped off the bed and we jumped off as well. Hyoran noticed something also weird.

"Did you grow taller?" Hyoran said. Back then, I was shorter than Hyoran by a slight bit. Now the top of my head is above her wolf ears.

"Guess I did." I said.

"I bought you new clothes for the both of you." Ezo said. "Also, Kain, you needed new clothes anyway as I tried to wash them to save a little money, I ended up ripping your shirt." Ezo chuckled at his own mishap. "Sorry."

"It's fine." I said.

"Hyoran, I bought you new clothes as well. You were putting your hand at the base of your tail sometimes. I bought you pants for a beastkin with a smaller tail so here's one for a bigger one." Ezo said. "Be quick, the guild can get crowded quickly."

We get dressed for a new day and left the tavern. I was wearing the same white shirt, but without any buttons and black pants.

Hyoran on the other hand is wearing a white shirt and sky blue pants.

We reached to the guild where adventurers were showing signs of complaints and some were relieved.

"The bandit leader died to an unknown caster that made the tornado? I almost feel bad for him."

"I knew about the bounty, but I was too far away to get to it. Darn."

"Thank goodness, those bandits and the leader made it harder for us to go hunting."

I could hear the opinions of other adventurers about the tornado and bandits dying. What they didn't know is that the culprit is me. Well, even if I did tell them, they would laugh it off since I am seen as a Beast Tamer, not a Mage.

We see a quest and is shown as follows...

If I remember correctly, there should be some Gray Wolves around here and Dim Owls. Dim Owls were like regular Owls as they're nocturnal. However, they have feathers laced with Curse Magic that could turn the victim's eyes completely black, blinding them. Comparable to blindfolding them with a solid black cloth. The curse wears off if the feathers are no longer touching them.

We went to the receptionist to show them the quest and she stamped it as a sign of acceptance.

Dim Owls' flight is silent, making it harder or impossible to hear them coming and yet do not have Concealment. But with Perception or Echolocation, their stealth is out the window. If I can get my hands on one of them, I can have an extra set of eyes.

We turned to leave the guild until I wind up bumping into someone. Someone soft.

"Sorry, I wasn't looking." I said and I looked at a woman with a model-like figure. She wears a sleek sleeveless blue dress with flower designs on them. Her breasts were large, which gives me an estimate that she is at least a E-cup, but her tight dress makes it a little bigger. Her blue witch hat to match her dress. She has purple eyes the color of amethyst and thin eyebrows. To top it off, she has long dark blue hair. She also wears a Gold plate around her neck.

What she is holding is a staff that is 3 in a half feet long, holding a large red spherical crystal.

"System, check her stats."

[Checking...complete.]

Not bad. She got her bases covered when it came to elemental magic except Healing Magic. Concentration allows her to prepare a spell and not get interrupted as she moves around or take damage. If she has Chantless, she wouldn't have to worry about losing the spell. Her Charm Magic could be used to trick people, but those with Tenacity will resist it.

"Oh, it's the Beast Tamer. On your way already?" Olivia said with a hint of seduction.

"Olivia, it's been a minute! You're turning in?" Ezo said, greeting Olivia.

"I just arrived. Three more and I'll reach Platinum by then. What about you?"

"I'm taking my kids to another quest. They're already Stone rank." Ezo said.

"I know, they're talented." Olivia said, winking at me. I waved at her making sure I saw her gesture. I hope she's not another person that'll be a pain in the ass like Anna.

"See you when I get back." Ezo said, waving her goodbye as we leave the guild.

"Who's that pretty lady?" Hyoran said.

"Her name is Olivia. She's one of our teammates when Tuya and I are younger. She's excellent in her magic." Ezo said.

We left the kingdom and began walking to the Nuen Mines which is south of Noltia. It's a walk that will take 20 minutes.

"Paura, it's time. Come to me." I said with telepathy.

"Kiii!" Paura screeched, saying he's on his way. Time to find an extra set of eyes.
