Yakumo in the game is a level 700 Ancient White Oni who is proficient in creating multiple Kihous at once along with Light, Holy, and Blessing Magic above Tier X. She is also one of the few onis that can resist Kitetsu made weapons that are baneful to every oni. However, she had no resistance towards Aura Contamination and Stagnation.
What's even more confusing is that Yakumo is said to be still alive in a comatose state for over 100 years in the Stagnation state.
I can only confirm when I see Yakumo with my own eyes.
"If it ain't too much trouble, can I take a look at Yakumo?" I asked.
Metsuka, Friis, and Aria widened their eyes from my proposal.
"If not, that's fine. I ain't forcing you to." I said.
"You would do that? It hasn't been a day when we met. Or even all of us." Metsuka asked.
"Yeah. When times are tough, we gotta work together. Going at it alone can only take us so far." I replied.
Metsuka's eyes brightened from my simple, yet effective response. When it comes to any crisis for humanity, we either band together or crumble. There is no middle ground.
"Then, I can take you there..." Gourai said, walking through the opening.
"Son..." Metsuka said, she tried to remind all of us about Yakumo's condition, but Gourai interrupted.
"All of our healing methods did nothing. But we're out of options. Don't you think we should give him a chance?" Gourai said. I stood up to apologize for provoking him in any way.
"Gourai, about that time..." I said. But Gourai stopped me.
"It's fine, it's my fault too. But it would be nice to see Yakumo again, alive and well." Gourai said.
Metsuka sighed. She stood up and puts her hands on her hips.
"Well, let's get going. I know the place." Metsuka smiled and gestured us to follow her. I put my cloak over my head and over my jagged horns to prevent other onis from freaking out from the sight of a Oni Warlord.
We left the yurt and began heading further inland of the oni village. There are more onis and lizardmen going around, mingling, celebrating, and laughing together at the fact they're finally attaining peace.
The village that had yurts had huts as well. Some even included homes out of wood and stone, but poorly made. I look around to see multiple paths, including the one that leads to the Seakin village right in front of us.
"This way." Metsuka said and led us to a left turn. That left turn led us to a small wooden bridge that goes over the river.
We turned to the left and saw a large cave ahead with another torii gate much larger than the entrance, but painted red.
We entered the dark cave and inside lies a line of lanterns leading the way. We kept going inside the cave and is introduced to six onis in a much brighter area adorned with candles and lanterns.
The five onis are the ones in clothing like any ordinary oni citizen in the village with the typical tiger hide clothing, but there is a white cloak over their shoulders, indicating they're medics.
But the sixth oni lies on a stone platform motionless, unresponsive.
The medical onis notice our presence and bowed before us.
"Lady Metsuka, young master Gourai, greetings." a green skinned oni said as he smiled. "And greetings to you, sir Friis and lady Aria."
"How's Lady Yakumo, Kiri?" Metsuka asked.
Kiri turned around and showed a sad face to the other onis.
"There were no signs of improvement or deterioration of her condition at this time...or any time for the last 50 years." Kiri said. "Although, we've been keeping her alive. It's amazing."
Kiri turned to Metsuka and happens to see me in a black cloak.
"May I ask who is the oni behind you? I haven't seen him before." Kiri said.
I walked towards him and introduced myself. I take a look and he has green skin along with his green horns.
"My name is Kain Void. Nice to meet you." I said.
"Kain Void? Quite a peculiar name for an oni." Kiri said.
"Weird, right?" I chuckled. "My horns might scare you, just a heads up."
"I don't know why should I, but okay." Kiri said in slight confusion.
I flicked my head back, flinging the hood away to show him my jagged red horns.
"My goodness...the amount of sharp angles. This is more than what that detestable Oumetsu have." Kiri said with astonishment.
"You're not afraid? Onizakura came at me with the intent to kill. She mistook me for her grandfather." I said, shrugging my shoulders.
"Afraid? Nonsense. But Onizakura did have an unpleasant past with her grandfather. She may look like a charismatic leader, but she's a girl wracked with grief from the death of her father, her mother unconscious for decades, and many of our kind either died or became warmongers along with Oumetsu." Kiri said. "I sometimes hear her sobbing in the bed, calling her parents or at worst screaming."
"It's...hard seeing her like this. I'm scared for the day to come where I have to say that her mother died." Metsuka said.
"By the way, Kain. Oumetsu was a Oni Champion with four barbs on his horns, you have five..." Kiri said, looking at my horns. "No way...you're...!"
"Yep, I'm an Oni Warlord. Oh, and I wasn't born in Yatsuchi." I said.
"Oni Warlord...?! That's higher than Oumetsu! You must've lived in this world for at least 500 years!" Kiri exclaimed. "Wait, you're not from Yatsuchi?"
Metsuka cleared her throat to interrupt us and bring us back to the main topic.
"Kiba, Kain, we have Lady Yakumo to tend to, right?" Metsuka said.
"Oh, right! As I stated before, Lady Yakumo's condition remained unchanged." Kiba said. "But every time we touch her whether we feed her, clothe her, clean her, we always experience a buzzing sensation from our hands. We'd do blood tests for her, but we're afraid that we'll put her at a greater risk because we're taking her internal wounds into account."
"Buzzing? May I see?" I asked.
"You can. But be careful, her condition may be unchanged, but it's delicate." Kiri advised.
I walked towards the oni laying on the stone platform. It's a female oni wearing nothing but white cloth that reaches to her knees. Her skin is very pale along with her long, snowy, wispy white hair. Lastly, her singular white horn that showed 7 curves.
I checked her stats.
I looked at her status and I was right. It is Aura Stagnation and has prevented her healing naturally and soon put her in a coma.
I placed my hand over her hand and my system reacted.
[Notice. Heavy concentration of aura detected.]
I let go of her hand and turned to Kiri, and the others.
"I know what the problem she is suffering from."
