As an Elf

We fly through the sky and exited the Meadows and above the forest in the mountains. I should show Hyoran about flying this high, but as I looked inside my Isolated Space, Hyoran was asleep, holding Fennec.

"If I remember correctly, the ruler of the Virdana kingdom is Emperor Gravius Eldcrown. A Great Elf that has been an emperor for 100 years. He is known to have an Archangel Prime on his side and is loved by his people." I said.

"Let's not forget that the enchanted forest behind the river. Only elves are able to cross there without trouble. We can fly to the kingdom, but we'd be found out before we even reach the river." Ashley warned. "Also, that forest nullifies any transformation skills, even Polymorph."

"Then, I should turn into an elf via mutation." I said.

Ashley looked down and was able to see the gap in the forest. Upon seeing the gap, it's an indication that we're at the border of the kingdom.

"Alright Xydrid, stop here." I said. Xydrid growled and stopped his flight. We began descending from the sky and into the forest.

The leaves tremble from the wind and the trees move out the way for Xydrid's landing as an attempt to avoid getting crushed.

*CRACK!* *SNAP!!* *CRASH!!*

*THOOM!*

Despite the trees attempt to move, Xydrid ended up crushing them with his large scaled body. However, it mattered that we landed close enough to not get spotted.

"Well, this is the closest we can get." Ashley said.

I jumped off of Xydrid and landed on top of the toppled tree. I looked ahead and see the veil that is the forest lay before us. The monsters that were nearby already fled from the presence of Xydrid.

"Thanks for the flight, Xydrid. You can go back in now." I said, petting his head.

*Voom!*

Xydrid walked into the giant portal and vanished inside of it, safely reaching in the Isolated Space.

"I would change into an elf, but I believe that my armor will be seen as barbaric to them." I said, looking at my tiger armor.

I opened my menu and wished to evolve.

[Notice. Changing into a race may cause you to lose some skills. Proceed?]

"Yes."

[Acknowledged, now mutating...]

*Thump!*

"Hrrk!"

*Crack!* *CRUNCH!*

A wave of pain strikes throughout my body, I groaned in as my bones and flesh are being broken and rebuilt.

Still, the pain I felt now dwarfs in comparison to the time I unlock the hidden skills.

My skin began to lose pigmentation, my height is shrinking, my muscles began to shrink, even my two horns began retracting.

"Woah...I wish I had a camera or phone with me..." Ashley said in awe of my mutation in progress.

Moments later, the pain stopped. I blinked and looked at my hands. Instead of being dark brown, it is milky white, but not as pale as Yakumo.

"My skin...my dark skin is gone..." I said as a wave of disappointment overtook me. I look at my arms and legs and it showed that I have thinned considerably. I look at my chest and the pecs and my abs are barely existent.

But in that trade off, my ears are much longer and I can hear sounds much more sharply. The wind, the rustling of leaves, the chirping of bugs and birds.

I created a mirror out of ice to see what I look like.

*Krrrk!*

I used the reflection of the ice and see a face far different than an oni. Only because I have successfully turned into an elf.

The mean-looking face with tusks for teeth are gone, the horn is gone, and the fiery red eyes of mine are now of a tranquil green. My face has smoothed out. No creases, no veins, no thick eyebrows, everything has been toned down.

[Mutation complete. You are now of the elven race.]

[Due to your rank, you are evolved into Great Elf.]

[Due to your race, Kihou and Kibuki, Oni Berserk, and Oni Terror are now locked.]

So my four unique skills was gone and nothing gained besides having enhanced hearing.

"Hmm...not bad." Ashley said, checking my face. "You'll be gathering the elven ladies."

"Don't tell Suzanna if I ever get one." I winked at Ashley. "But first, I need a change of clothes, got any suggestions?"

"Hmm...I got a good one. Be right back." Ashley said.

Ashley flapped her wings and ascended to the sky and flew in the opposite direction we flew from.

*Zooom!*

She became a blue streak in the sky, disappearing into the distance.

{10 minutes later.}

*Zoom!*

Ashley returns back to where we stood with a handful of cloth.

"I'm back." Ashley announced, handing me to what is seemed is a green and white hooded robe. I take a closer look and it has a overcoat, pants, and a robe.

"I took a look on its stats and it is a Rare armor. I got it from Velizar as usual." Ashley said.

"This will do just fine." I said. I slipped out of my massive Tiger Armor and put on the cloth.

As I finished I looked into the frozen mirror again and began admiring myself.

"Not bad...I'll fit right in." I said, smirking. I put my old armor and my halberd in the Isolated Space. I jumped off of the fallen trees and began summoning my horse.

"Zala, come on out." I said.

*Voom!*

Zala walked out of portal and sputtered. I jumped on top of Zala and looked at Ashley.

"Now that you are an elf, you can go to the enchanted forest without problem." Ashley said, giving me a thumbs up.

"What lies next is to convince them. I'll call you when things go south." I said.

"I know you'll pull through." Ashley smiled, assuring my success.

"Alright Zala, let's go!" I exclaimed. Zala began running through the forest, leaving Ashley behind.

The sounds of the wind blowing into my long ears became much sharper than before, but not enough to cause me headaches or dizziness.

We soon reached the river and I stopped Zala before her feet touched the water. I looked around to find a path to the forest as if I cross the water, even if I tell Zala to jump over it, the scouts would be alerted.

I looked around to find a wooden bridge that could allow us to cross the bridge without causing suspicion.

After looking around, I found it and crossed the bridge. As soon we reached the other side, I hear the notification.

[Attention, you have entered the Enchanted Forest of Virdana.]

[Concealment, Shadow Sneak, and Polymorph has been nullified.]

[You cannot summon the undead.]

[You cannot summon the Hellkin.]

[Since you are of elven race, the path will reveal itself.]

After the messages, the forest began to shift and warp. The wall of wood and vegetation moved aside like gatekeepers allowing entry.

The forest gave me a straight path, showing the way to Virdana. Zala sprints ahead through the path until we reach the end of the path.

What lies ahead is a kingdom protected by 75 foot walls surrounding the elves inside. The 4 elves stand in front of the wall and gates wielding spears and shields.

I approach them and they bowed down.

"Welcome fellow elf. Are you returning or your first time?" one of the elf guards said.

"My first time here, but it is urgent. Can you take me to someone who governs this kingdom?" I asked.

"Oh, is it about Felexin?" one of the guards said.

"Yes, it must be known, no matter what." I said, giving them a serious expression.

"If it's urgent, come right in. Our emperor is inside the Royal Tree of Virdana." one of the guards replied. "Tell one of the knights your name and they'll bring you to the emperor."

The guards show me the way into the castle, letting me and Zala pass.

"You have my thanks." I bowed my head in gratitude and continued on.

I entered the kingdom and see the large wooden buildings based off of trees and some stones. Every tree I see is not the same. Some has fruit hanging above, some has flowers, and some have different colored bark.

I look up into the sky and see the giant tree in the center of the kingdom. The tree has doors, windows, and smaller trees to be used as towers for defense.

At the base of the tree, I see two knights guarding the entrance. Unlike the guards, they wear plated armor, hold halberds, and have a stamp on their shoulder blade indicating of their allegiance.

I approach them and they crossed their halberds, blocking my way.

"Halt, citizen." said the elven knight. "State your business."

"I have come to inform the emperor. It's regarding of the church in Felexin and it is urgent." I said.

"State your name." one of the knights asked.

Up until now, I never gave them my name. But I will not give them my current nor my former.

"Lucius. Lucius Eldfern." I replied..
