CHAPTER #10:LESSONS?

"Now Lady Luna. I am sure you understand what are the basics of being a noble lady. Even though you are a beginner. Can you state some important points?"

"Elegance," I replied at once.

-"She underestimated me too much. I shall show you how a noble lady is."

"Elegance and a good character is everything in the high society."

"My lady..." Mrs. Blanchard stared at me. Looking at her for a moment made me doubt my answer.

"Bravo young lady! I knew that you needn't have a tutor. You are unexpectedly talented. As expected of the Vanderberg's blood."

"Vanderberg's blood?"I questioned putting up an innocent clueless face.

" Nothing much dear. Actually...ahaha~"

-"She is hiding something from me."I glared at her.

The first day was just tiring. I jumped on my bed. The evening sun was pink and vivid. I asked my nanny to open the doors of the terrace to let the cool breeze enter the room.

"Ahh~this is nice."

-"I miss the modern world. The air conditioners, television. Why couldn't it be a contemporary novel instead?"

Before I could realize it I had already dozed off on the soft cool bed.

"Sweet dreams my lady." My nanny left the room quietly.

Late at night, someone entered my room.

"So she is the one that girl is fond of?"

Then I heard a different voice which was less soft than the first one.

"Yes, your maj-"

"Shh! You'll wake her up. "

-"You already did that!"I scorned in my mind.

"I don't see a great future for her."

-"What? What great future? What are they talking about? Should I get up and ask? No that is the worst of the worst ideas! What if they kill me? I am not even ten years old yet."

"But I will make sure that she has a safe life. I bestow her with my blessing and Evelyn's. We will always be by their side."

"Yes, your maj-"

"You can't call her that when we are away from Evelyn."The voice that cautioned them was much deeper than the others.

"Apologies! I forgot!"

"Let's return. The sun will be out any moment soon."

"Understood my lady."

I opened my eyes with caution to not get caught. I only saw a fading glimmering circle near the terrace doors that were now closed.

"What was that?"

I got out of my bed and towards the closed doors.

"Strange? It's like magic." I waved my hands in the thin air to feel the sparkles that had nearly faded to nothing.

Click*

I heard the sound of the door open.

"Ahh~my lady you are up earlier today."

"Good morning nanny." I greeted her.

"Ugh, I want to sleep more," I grumbled.

-----------------

Three years later...

"Mother hurry up or we will be late for Eirlyn's birthday!" I cried running to my parent's master bedroom.

"Coming dear, Just a second."

"Look the coach is already here." I ran to the window and saw the carriage stop in front of the main building.

"In a minute." She replied wearing her new emerald necklace.

"Mother, Luna. Are you guys ready yet? We will be late for Lady Beauregard's party."Lucien entered the room.

" Brother Lucien!"I ran into his arms.

"Did you miss me?"

"Of course I did. Do you want me to forget you?" I pouted like a spoilt kid.

Lucien always came back home by the end of the year. The rest of the time he was to attend the Academy. I was sympathetic to him since the academy didn't give them any spring or summer vacations. So I used to get bored pretty easily. If I had an I phone then I wouldn't bother waiting for him.

"Haha! I wouldn't want my only adorable sister to forget my existence and marry off like that." He grinned.

"You like to get on my nerves, don't you. When you know I don't want to marry anyone."

"Oh? You want to get married that badly that you don't even accept the fact?"

Hearing him say this irked me to a great deal that I punched him in his gut.

"Ow! You punch as if you are throwing a pebble."

"Children!Manners, please. I don't want you to act like this when we are there. And Lucien!"

"Y-yes mother?"

"If you tease Lady Eirlyn again. No one will be worse than me." She smiled elegantly as she closed the feathered fan and wore the fur.

-"I can feel the intent of death from her."Lucien backed away.

"Mother is right. You, Alexander, and Cornelius always treat her in a bad way. Especially that Alexander. The boy of the ducal house"

I hated that person the most in my life. Although he has a noble ducal background and is considered the finest and the youngest swordmaster who Lucien couldn't beat. But in my opinion, he is a pure BIG SPOILT BRAT!

He was one of the leads of this novel who followed Phanessa to the end.

-"I feel creepy recalling that part of the book."I shrugged.

"Let's go." Inina wore her silk white gloves followed by her servants.

"I wished papa was here."

"It can not be helped, dear. The trains have stopped due to bad weather in the north."

The footman helped mother and me into the carriage.

I sat with my mother while Lucien sat on the opposite side. He knocked at the carriage behind him to let the coachman know that it was fine to set off.

"Lucien, did we get all the presents for the Beauregards?"

"Yes, mother I checked everything beforehand."

"Good to hear. I knew I can rely on you." Mother smiled.

I looked at her feeling a bit disheartened upon hearing it.

"The Luna of the novel. How would she feel about it? Would she be bothered by it?... I am curious about it."
