CHAPTER#20:Unintentional kindness.

I turned back and noticed the boy who barely escaped my wrath pull the sister's sleeve into the hall.

"She did this to us." he cried.

"Oh, dear." The sister simultaneously looked back and forth at the two of us.

The poor woman looked timid with a gentle character.

- "This means that I can easily draw her favor to my side."I smiled and crossed my arms.

" What is the meaning of this Luna?"I heard my mother who stood behind me after she sent the injured child off with the other sister.

"Mama...sob*sob*I didn't mean to..." I grabbed her skirt burying my face as I pretended to cry woefully.

"What is it, Luna? Don't cry, child. Tell me what happened."She gently placed her cold hand on my small shoulder.

" But I couldn't bear to see a child being unjustly bullied and being ignored like that."I unknowingly got a memory in the past of the time when I was bullied in elementary school. That stupid trash Jonathan would come to my rescue soon became a knight in shining armor for the naive me at that time.

-"Now when I recall that memory. It makes me want to go back and puke on him."My brow twitched in anger and my grip on my mother's dress grew tighter.

"Please inquire them, mama. Everyone is here. The sister can ask them. Please bring the child I came in with." I announced.

I could see the other three flustered with anxiety.

"What the lady is talking about true?"The nun looked at the boy.

" W-well ..."

"You ought not to lie for you might face heavy consequences later on." I drove him into admitting his mistake.

"I can't believe you portrayed such behavior in front of our honored guests."The sister shook her head in disbelief.

" Please I beg forgiveness for what they did madame. I will be sure to discipline them well."She nun bowed her head out of guilt.

"I am not the one to decide. Since my daughter stepped in to save the victim and became another one of their targets, it's for her to decide their punishment."

-"Mother."I looked at her dumbfounded.

She looked back at me smiling reassuringly.

I smiled back pulling my confidence to the stand once again.

-"I am a villainess under the guise of the saint. That's what I decided to be for now."

"That's enough of the punishment they received. I forgive them. So I ask for forgiveness in return for showing an unsightly behavior."

"Ohh~Why is the lady apologizing even when you are in the right."

"Well since I don't want to be always on bad terms with them," I replied pitifully.

"Goodness, she is such a saint." The nun was moved to tears as she carried the boy who was hurt the most.

"You three should thank the lady for being so generous with you lot." She scolded them.

-"It's the fact that I do not want to be hit by karma needlessly in the path I paved for the future. And I will use them as my future pawns to the fullest."

"I will keep visiting the orphanage in the future as well." I smiled mockingly at the three brats who looked horrified.

-"Yes thats it. I love the look on your pathetic faces. I will not leave you until you beg me to be forgiven. A sight to behold."

I let out a tiny laugh as I bit my bottom lip to hold in my excitement.

"How kind of you to not overlook a humble place like this my lady."

"The pleasure is all mine," I said.

"You are back?" the sister hurried with the other three boys to nurse their wounds.

I saw the other sister come out with the child who was bandaged all over as if he were turned into a mummy except that the face was more openly exposed.

"M-my lady...Thank...you...for-"

"Don't speak." I raised my hand to stop him from talking any further.

"Your wounds will open again and the sister will have to go through all the trouble dressing you up again." I crossed my arms.

He replied by slowly nodding his head.

I realized that other children had gone do I asked where they were.

"They are in the bath right now and changing into clothes you gifted them." The sister smiled gratefully.

"Luna dear mother and the sisters will be next door for a while. I need something important to discuss."

"Alright, mother," I replied as they walked out of the hall. The creaking sounds of the wooden floor faded as they walked farther away from the room.

I turned around to where the boy stood.

"Did you not receive your clothes?" I looked at the rags he was wearing.

He slowly shook his head.

I frowned and looked around to find the boxes that contained the supplies for the winter.

I walked across the hall and looked in the large box and found a set of clothes in the corner.

They were not that flashy nor were they trendy.

I picked them up and unfolded them only to find out that it was just a dull one-piece blue-colored dress. However, it was made of wool. There was a coat, a muffler, and a pair of gloves.

"Better than nothing," I mumbled under my breath.

I picked them up but there were no shoes. Taking them back to the child I handed them to him.

"There are no male clothes. Since your physical appearance won't matter much right now so I suggest you wear them."

-"Beggars can't be choosers. And I want to see a boy in a dress. He would be ashamed to wear it."I smiled mischievously.

But what I saw was not embarrassment. But eyes filled with tears of gratitude. It made me think of how weird this child was. Or perhaps was he so poor to the point where the clothes of a girl would make him this happy.

"All's well that ends well."I shrugged off the weird feeling.
