CHAPTER #25:Change...

After a three-week intensive recovery, I was allowed to go out for a walk in the garden. I could still remember the unnecessary watch the mansion servants used to keep over me as if I were a death row convict trying to escape the prison. No less the whole squad of knights following me like military-trained hounds.

"This is way more tiring than I thought." I received a letter from the servant. It was addressed by Lucien.

"This is the forty-fourth letter already in the past three weeks."

It was understandable why a sis-con like him would send only letters since the academy was too strict with sparing a day off out of schedule. Means I could only see him at the end of this year. I received a pile of them which were mostly from either Eirlyn or Lucien. And others I didn't even bother open to read the nonsensical loads of cringe poetry they wrote about my beauty rather than wishing a complete recovery.

My mother spent every night by my side and my father couldn't delay his inspection for more than two days. Though I received letters from him too.

The spring was almost here. I enjoyed the cool breeze of the spring carrying the scent of the flowers from the gardens and filling the air around me. It was aromatic and luxurious with little to no signs of air pollution.

-"I wish I could take a picture of it."I groaned. It's a pity that Lucien can't see this view. I suddenly remembered the first time he sneaked me out to just show me the flower field. It was like a nostalgic dream.

"Lady. How about visiting the beach house with the countess for a change?" My maid asked me.

"Hmm, why not suggest it to mother yourself Freya?" I asked her in return.

But what I received was an expected strong rejection from her.

"No way she's going out of the city in that state." She raged on the poor maid.

"There there calm down. Don't cry." I consoled her who was in tears. She was a dark-haired maid with tanned skin and freckles. She was to marry this month to her cousin who worked in the most famous hotel of the empire.

"I won't ever leave you, my lady." She wailed biting on her handkerchief.

"Why did it come to this?" I questioned myself defiantly.

"Just stop crying already."

"Yes my lady~"

I saw tears rolling out again as if they'd flood the entire room.

"Why not visit the hotel where your fiance works?" I suggested the sudden idea that popped up in my mind.

"If my lady wants to I can book a better hotel with a great view than that one." I could feel the uneasiness in her words as if she'd avoid going there no matter what.

"Are you at odds with each other?" I asked her instead of beating about the bush.

I could see how tense her body became after hearing me out.

"It's not much of a problem my lady. Just something minor. Please don't worry about it."

"Of course, I won't get in between a couple's matter. But let me tell you, it's always for the best to patiently hear out what your partner needs to say."

I knew the advice I gave her is too much coming from a person who is merely but a child in their eyes. But I always keep conversations straight to the point unless I need tactical thinking.

"And besides I hear no other hotel can be compared to the one in the capital. Even the royal family favors that place." Right, the same hotel where Luna was about to be raped by Phanessa's guards when she tried to sneak in some drug to blame the female lead for attempting a crime against the Light Elf queen.

I heard a fan in my previous life that an extra chapter came out that revealed spoilers that it was planned by the hotel's owner just to gain recognition in the eyes of the emperor.

How despicable was that man? I can't imagine that so-called fiance never came to rescue Luna in the name of humanity.

"The more I think about it, the more burden adds up to the previous one." I can't imagine they were after her even when she gave up on the trashy fiance and her family, exiled from the empire to the desolate desert of the west.

The twilight made its way after the day as the servants prepared for my departure from the estate to the capital. Mother couldn't go with me and was only reassured when father sent a letter that he'd pick me up after my travel to the capital city. It was obvious that I would travel by train so it would take a whole day to reach from the Northwest to the eastern part of the empire.

I gazed at the clear and endless starry night sky from the window.

'It'll be a full moon night after today.'I said under my breath.

"My Lady, the bathwater is ready...My lady-" I kept on staring at the silver moon paying no attention to Freya's call.

"Lady the night is still chilly out here." She covered my shoulders with a shawl.

"It's spring, Freya. You worry like an old hag." I contended her.

"Lady your eyes-?"

"What's wrong?" I looked at her startled as she came closer to my face.

"Just now...your eyes shone brightly emitting a faint light."

What's she talking about? I raised a brow trying to understand if her words had heads or tails to them.

"Must've been your imagination. C'mon don't just stand around and help me take a bath."

"Y-yes!I apologize my lady."

"Lady the countess said that the family doctor will go with you on your trip."

"WHAT!?"

-"MOTHER~!"
